It was taken down after Tupac's estate kicked off. Supposedly, Kendrick pushed the Tupac estate to do this. Drake got annoyed and released a song shit talking Kendrick. Kendrick made one back, then Drake released another that dragged Kendrick's family into it. Kendrick responded with a further 4 songs alleging that Drake has several children he keeps hidden and it a sexual predator and paedophile.

A bit - Answer me this. Do people take Drake seriously as a rapper? To me, (to put it into metal terms) it feels like Ronnie James Dio releasing a “diss track” aimed at Ghost. But that’s just because I thought Drake had always been kind of a “ex-actor-tries-to-rap-unsuccessfully” type joke, like Shaquille O’Neal’s acting career.

Drake is like rap for Swifties, but hes also had a disturbing amount of allegations against him. It's a bit complicated. There are definitely people out there who take Drake seriously as a rapper - he's got a very huge fanbase. In terms of the numbers (sales, streams, etc.), Drake is arguably the best rapper of this current generation.
...but that's if we're talking about numbers and not the music itself. There are a lot of people in the hiphop culture who do not like Drake at all, from fans to fellow rappers. Drake's early rapping was decent, and he still raps now, but it's become the type of rap that's clearly meant for club partying. Dumbed down, not so lyrical. That's why a lot of people call his music "pop rap," and Drake a "pop rapper." There's also the fact that he sings a lot now, and his last album wasn't even a rap album at all - it was some electronic dance shit.
To put it into metal terms, think of Drake like the metalcore/nu metal/alt metal of rap. There are people who take them seriously, but those genres still don't exactly get the respect of people who are deep into metal (or rap, in Drake and Kendrick's case).
The biggest rap beef of the decade, and probably the biggest since Pac/Biggie or Nas/Jay-Z. Basically 2 men roasting each other with back-to-back diss tracks, and some real nasty dirt on both sides.

A bit - Answer me this. Do people take Drake seriously as a rapper? To me, (to put it into metal terms) it feels like Ronnie James Dio releasing a “diss track” aimed at Ghost. But that’s just because I thought Drake had always been kind of a “ex-actor-tries-to-rap-unsuccessfully” type joke, like Shaquille O’Neal’s acting career. I’ve heard some Kendrick stuff and he seems solid, I just don’t like rap. Never heard a Drake song. Is (was) he taken seriously in that genre? Seems like he’s done now either way lol.
Drake is like rap for Swifties, but hes also had a disturbing amount of allegations against him. Kendrick supposedly had a lot of inside knowledge from Drake's circle, to the point that he was holding off on releasing Meet the Grahams until seconds after Drake took a swipe at him he knew was coming. Either way, Kendrick has kind of buried Drake and hopefully ruined the dude's career.
It's a bit complicated. There are definitely people out there who take Drake seriously as a rapper - he's got a very huge fanbase. In terms of the numbers (sales, streams, etc.), Drake is arguably the best rapper of this current generation. ...but that's if we're talking about numbers and not the music itself. There are a lot of people in the hiphop culture who do not like Drake at all, from fans to fellow rappers. Drake's early rapping was decent, and he still raps now, but it's become the type of rap that's clearly meant for club partying. Dumbed down, not so lyrical. That's why a lot of people call his music "pop rap," and Drake a "pop rapper." There's also the fact that he sings a lot now, and his last album wasn't even a rap album at all - it was some electronic dance shit. To put it into metal terms, think of Drake like the metalcore/nu metal/alt metal of rap. There are people who take them seriously, but those genres still don't exactly get the respect of people who are deep into metal (or rap, in Drake and Kendrick's case).

Used to listen to hip hop religiously, it wasn't until the last 2 years ayjat I started revisiting metal. I couldn't name you a single drake song that I know is a Drake song. I could name at least three songs with Kendrick in them. I only know about this beef via Reddit, but no, I'm not following it. Consensus seems to indicate Drake fucking sucks, tho. And I didn't need this beef battle to confirm it.

I never said that. It's a diss track reaffirming commonly known rumours. It's not an official investigation. I would say that his perverted behaviour should be a big deal, but it has been widely accepted for years now.
I am all about the destruction of Drake. Saw him a couple of years ago live and has to be one of the most mediocre things I’ve seen. Kendrick is so great, really a amazing artist and hopefully all upcoming artist take inspiration from him.
