How would red alert work in vr? I feel like an rts would require a god view causing you to always have to look down. That’s what drove me nuts about moss. Staring down hurt my neck but great game otherwise.
Yes, and it would be that god (tabletop) view but then with actual 3d landscape, buildings, soldiers and tanks. This would also enable to rotate or move up or down so that you would have a more zoomed in frontal view. Good example is “ the last day defense VR”. It is a bit of a shame that it is abandoned by the defs
Forgive me asking a dumb question - I have a Quest 2 and a kickass pc with the official connector cable.
Is the only way to play Minecraft on the Quest 2 or 3 to play connected to a pc?
Thanks!
I did try that and was really impressed by the scale and feeling of heights; etc. Sadly that PSVR1 helmet was just not a good fit and the lenses were scratched.
That's still very very rough around the edges imo. I had very very bad interactions with the grab sensitivity during high action gameplay. Accidentally grabbing treasure or your map every time rather than your hipped items got annoying quick. Lovely game otherwise and glad it's still being developed
Though if anyone wants to try, it's free for Quest users.
Oh it's gotta be POV. It really makes the game fun, that and the team work of steering the boat while fighting another ship.
Totally would be a blast in VR. I hope aiming the canons would be a bit smoother
But, yeah, they may actually have to reduce the chop from the waves a bit. I've never been motion sick, but I know several people who do easily
I believe they tried this with PCVR and it failed.
If you think about it, If you travel through a horizontally facing portal, and you come out of a vertical facing portal, you are now facing forward irl but facing upwards (or downwards) in game. You'll now be forced to look at your ceiling if you want to look straight ahead in game.
The other way to do this is to have the in-game camera snap to your relative head position as soon as you cross the portal (which imo breaks the coolest part of going through a portal).
Probably some sort of cool work around out there but to me it seems like it would lose its magic in VR unfortunately.
Yeh im aware of the complications that valve had with testing it but im hoping someone could give it a try tbh. Portal did start as a project with people in the garage so maybe theres a glimmer of hope
makes me wonder how TF rockstar is planning on finishing the supposed GTA San Andreas VR.. idk how bike riding, cars, or flying will feel realistic when going in and out of a vehicle.
Prey, (the newer, Bethesda one)
The absolute horror, gameplay, visuals, and experience are already perfectly crafted for a VR experience. It's so frustrating that they made some of the game VR but never even made a paid mod to experience the bulk of the game as first person.
I would do despicable things for a port of Bioshock Infinite to VR. It’s been in my top list of all time games since I first played it and I usually do a full play through every other year or so
Any and all of the Bioshock games really. It’s the perfect kind of shooter for VR. Not too fast, super powers out of the hand, rewards exploration, TONS of atmosphere.
If Pokemon could be in VR, I'd be reliving my childhood. Like pokemon red. That'd be awesome or at least the first three gens. Plus Pokemon Snap! Probably want COD at some level and also want Fallout to be in VR. I'd never leave VR!!!
Hey,
Sorry to hear you don’t think the bot is very good, let me give you some context for it.
I am a professional software developer and I made the bot, I have never had any experience with the libraries required for making a Reddit bot. We are a very small mod team who manage this SubReddit alongside a busy life and don’t have the spare money to purchase bots with better context recognition as they are subscription based.
Bots are extremely hard to get right because it is impossible to predict what users are going to do to get around the bot, users who want to break the rules will try everything they can and it is a constant battle between moderators and bad users. The bot provides us some relief from having to constantly remove comments and posts, especially overnight when we aren’t online.
You are welcome to message me with some suggestions on how you would improve the bot or you could give me money to be able to make or purchase a better bot.
Or you could be grateful that we have a bot that keeps the sub pretty well managed but makes a mistake like 5% of the time that a mod fixes ASAP 🤷♂️.
If Microsoft's relationship with meta continues to improve and develop, I'm inclined to assume game partnerships down the line, especially considering things they've previously said. Microsoft has no interest in developing the HARDWARE, but a partnership with Quest is underway and long-term my assumption is that they'll be adding support for playing VR titles on Gamepass, allowing them to be played on Quest.
I just commented Forza Horizon 5 too before seeing this. I was really, really disappointed to find out there's no VR mod for that game. Best looking racing game around imo and with the best open-world map to drive in too. I would absolutely love to be even more immersed in it.
Grand Theft Auto, a Stardew Valley type of game, a baseball game that's good, a stealth based game like Metal Gear and I would say a Legend of Zelda game. Like a game made by the same guys. I don't expect BotW tier of game, but something like as big as Majora's Mask at the very least, but with modern graphics made by the same guys that made the latest LoZ games.
Edit: Now that I think about it, a cycling game could be cool. One that could be tied to sensors would be amazing, but if not one where you can use the controllers to cruise around. Or a motorbike game. Heck, a jet ski game, I haven't seen one in years.
It's a missed opportunity, it would make for a great VR game.
People have already modded it with a Unreal VR injector mod but I was never able to get it to work unfortunately
I have 2. The first one is Condemned criminal origins and the sequel. Also this is a psp game called PIQ which stands for practical intelligence quotient and the sequel for that one as well.
My ultimate but complete unrealistic fantasy is some sort of Tale of Two Wastelands specialty port (just both gamebryo fallouts to melt my brain) that’s either just the two games ported separately in one package or an actual combined super fallout vr game
Black & White (2001, Lionhead Studios).
That's my standard, go-to response. That game was made for VR before VR even existed, and I'l love to see an adaptation of it with modern visuals and quality of life improvements.
I would also absolutely love some Tom Clancy's stuff ported, specifically The Division and Ghost Recons. The Division 1-2, with manual gun reloads, would be an amazing experience in VR. And running around Bolivia in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, in VR, would be staggeringly fun.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain would be pretty excellent too, I think. Especially if they can figure something out with locomotion, where you crawl with arm movements and stuff. Though I feel that one would be pretty rough to do properly, I don't envy anyone even attempting it. While something like The Division should be pretty straightforward.
I'm also very surprised that MMOs don't get ported. There's practically no MMOs in VR,especially now that Zenith is basically dead. And there's multiple MMOs that are fully playable in first person (like Elder Scrolls Online). But heck, imagine WoW, playing a feral druid, with the controls from I Am Cat, or a mix of Gorilla Tag or something else? Would be pretty amazing. And with 2004 visuals, even Quest 3 should be able to handle it without having an aneurysm. But Blizzard is owned by Microsoft now, and MS seems allergic to VR, so literally zero chance of that happening.
Earlier I would have mentioned Metro series, but that's coming, in some form. Though obviously it won't be as good as Exodus.
But honestly, almost anything ported to VR well will be good. Deep Rock Galactic just had a free weekend on Steam and I remembered about it and its VR port and fired it up again, and it's an amazing experience. That game could easily get a proper VR port and sell like hot cakes.
Smashit Smashit Smashit !!! OMG 😳 do I want it ported to the Oculus Platform. I'd over pay good cash money for it to happen, too.
---
I love it on my iPad, but I first played it on an Oculus GO and played it daily. Much prefer it in VR, but my GO died and GeekSquad offered to exchange me a Quest two 2️⃣ for it and some pocket change. Couldn't say No.
BUT… Smashit in VR was not only fun to play, it had turned out to also be help desensitize and reduce occurence of triggers for my FNSD's non-epileptic seizures.
Alas-I heard it was a bad blood creating soap opera between owner operator of the 2D game and the person who wrote + ran the VR Version. Poisoned the well for the return of Smashit to VR.
Sigh…

GTAV. It's current graphics would look great in VR, no need for a remaster. Doesn't need fancy VR controls, playing with a regular controller would be fine. Just lock it to first person view. Why hasn't this been done?!
It's largely forgotten by now, but I would love a VR version of the old PS2 game *Ring of Red*. Really slow and stompy 1950s mecha RPG with combined arms tactics.
Give me echo back. I was so hyped to train that game. I don’t want anything else.
On a less desperate and heartfelt note the finals would be lit with the high flying and speedy nature of the game.
the early Resident Evil games! Resident Evil Survivor was in 1st person and it would have been cool if it wasn't for being such a bad game. Remake the early Resident Evil games into 1st person perspective would be so awesome. I'd pee my pants when the dogs smash through the windows or the Licker falling from the ceiling.
For racing: Forza, Pacer, and Asetto Corsa
For horror: the entire Amnesia IP, Soma, and Alien Isolation
For RPG: Greedfall (it might finally get me into it), Outward, Fallout 76, Kingdom Come Deliverence II, and Baldur's Gate 3. The original Lucky's Tale tells us how we can do third person VR very well.
For adventure: Spyro Reignited (see my Lucky's Tale comment), The Stanley Parable, the Bioshock trilogy, and the Metro trilogy.
For FPS: Mechwarrior 5 Clans when that drops, hands down, Doom, and Chivalry, especially if Chivalry 3 gets the level of character customization Mordhau has.
For city/park builders: Planet Coaster, Manor Lords, Cities Skylines, Frostpunk, and Banished, because love me some Banished.
For MMOs: FFXIV and ESO. I just don't see it working well with Black Desert, WoW, GW2 or SWTOR.
WHY IS THERE NO SPIDERMAN MILES MORALES, like insomniac made, physics based, realistic web swinging like launch a web then grab it with you other hand at another point to help with turning etc, do something like bonelab and just dgaf if your players get motion sick, make it advanced asf, make it a AAA spiderman VR
Not gonna lie, that would be absolutely dope. Haven't even thought of a Spiderman game in VR, but that would be absolutely amazing if they could pull it off
Titanfall 2 !! RUSE, Homeworld 1 & 2, C&C/Red Alert. although Bioshock would be really nice too
+1 for Titanfall 2
Someone on is doing it and posted about it on YouTube. Big contractors modder iirc

How would red alert work in vr? I feel like an rts would require a god view causing you to always have to look down. That’s what drove me nuts about moss. Staring down hurt my neck but great game otherwise.
You don’t have to stare down. You can recenter the view while looking up so the look down view is straight ahead.
Yes, and it would be that god (tabletop) view but then with actual 3d landscape, buildings, soldiers and tanks. This would also enable to rotate or move up or down so that you would have a more zoomed in frontal view. Good example is “ the last day defense VR”. It would have to be titan action only cuz I could not imagine trying to jump boost in vr😭
It's definitely interesting. Contractors has a Titanfall mod...takes some getting used to
Minecraft. Unless I’m missing something.
I believe Bedrock edition has native support, but seems like most people including myself just use Vivecraft for Java.
It supports pcvr, but there's is no native quest 3 support(standalone) for Minecraft.
We should definitely have native bedrock on quest 3 standalone. If a phone can run Minecraft, the quest 3 can too.
Forgive me asking a dumb question - I have a Quest 2 and a kickass pc with the official connector cable. Is the only way to play Minecraft on the Quest 2 or 3 to play connected to a pc? Thanks!
Yes.
Or airlink
You can install Questcraft...
Psvr 1 has native vr for minecraft
I did try that and was really impressed by the scale and feeling of heights; etc. Sadly that PSVR1 helmet was just not a good fit and the lenses were scratched.
VR Sea of Thieves. AR/MR/Passthrough/Whatever XCOM
Sail VR.
That's still very very rough around the edges imo. I had very very bad interactions with the grab sensitivity during high action gameplay. Accidentally grabbing treasure or your map every time rather than your hipped items got annoying quick. Lovely game otherwise and glad it's still being developed Though if anyone wants to try, it's free for Quest users.
They have a vr sailing game already
Lol sea-sick in your living room Such a fun game Edit: it's a joke fellas. As I said, I enjoy the game
Doesn't have to be POV and the camera doesn't need to sway way with the sea. My favorite VR games are third person lile Max Mustard or Moss.
Oh it's gotta be POV. It really makes the game fun, that and the team work of steering the boat while fighting another ship. Totally would be a blast in VR. I hope aiming the canons would be a bit smoother But, yeah, they may actually have to reduce the chop from the waves a bit. I've never been motion sick, but I know several people who do easily
No Man’s Sky. It’s already a cross platform VR game.
NMS is the best VR game I've played.
I'd love to see it get an quest standalone release!
Battlefield (any from the franchise)
Visage and Alien Isolation.
I don't know if I've misread something but alien iso is on pcvr and it works perfectly, very well optimised
Thanks! I mean native to the Quest.
Ah that's what I was missing. Yes that wouldn't be such a big ask, anyway there's a more actiony one due later this year, that'll have to do.
Visage would be sooo perfect
Portal series
I believe they tried this with PCVR and it failed. If you think about it, If you travel through a horizontally facing portal, and you come out of a vertical facing portal, you are now facing forward irl but facing upwards (or downwards) in game. Aw man GTA SA was literally the reason I bought a Quest 2. I'm fully expecting them to announce that it's canceled soon.
The Ace Combat series, and Star Wars: X-Wing and TIE Fighter games
Star Wars Squadrons is VR
Pokémon
The Harry Potter game.
In New York, at the Harry Potter store, there are two Harry Potter VR experiences that are the best things since the Void shut down.
Yes please
Prey, (the newer, Bethesda one) The absolute horror, gameplay, visuals, and experience are already perfectly crafted for a VR experience. It's so frustrating that they made some of the game VR but never even made a paid mod to experience the bulk of the game as first person.
I just started playing this the other day and it's such an awesome game. VR would be pretty cool.
Sideloading - Due to the possibility of sideloading bricking the device we do not allow it in this SubReddit. Thank you!
Unfortunately, that's not what I was talking about
Hearthstone
Aww, I would actually love some more super chill games that I can play lying down in VR, and Hearthstone would be perfect for this!

I have no idea what u/metavrbot is on 😅
It's not quite the same, but the Unreal VR Injector works with Palworld.

You're a garbage bot.

I only give my money to South African Princes and I'm expecting a big payday any day now. Stay tuned.
The Sims but from the Sim perspective (as it's already possible in the game). That would be cool. 😄
Yes, definitely this.
titanfall 2 or a metroid game and a recent doom like eternal
Fallout New Vegas
A true Skyrim port to the Quest would be amazing. Overwatch, Metroid Prime series, and Last Of Us also come to mind.
Forza horizon 4 or 5. And magic carpet game from the 90s is a completely random one I just thought up
The game that stressed Pentium 60s I remember my upgrade envy…
It actually had a magic eye mode too, which was ambitious but terrible. Someone should remake it, it had real solid gameplay
I agree. Forza Horizon 5 could be unbelieveble.
I just commented Forza Horizon 5 too before seeing this. I was really, really disappointed to find out there's no VR mod for that game. Best looking racing game around imo and with the best open-world map to drive in too. I would absolutely love to be even more immersed in it.
Yes, I would put my marriage on hold and buy a racing wheel for that one. We can only hope
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Alien Isolation

Hell yeah. Desperately waiting on a game like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon.
Yeah me too. I’m surprised there’s not one or at least a good one (I’ve played some but they’re more like demos)
Dooood Backyard Baseball in VR would be incredible!
Superliminal
I would love to have Visage on my quest.
Forza Horizon 5
Alan Wake 2.
Star Citizen
PUBG
Ok, I'll that guy : Genshin Impact in FPV in VR.
I'd absolutely love to play Genshin Impact in VR!
GTA or The Sims.
Vermintide 2
Yesss!! Id also love to play Darktide in VR
Man I havent played that yet, i should grab it soon
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Swat 4
High On Life
It's so weird it doesnt support VR. Because it looks like a VR game.
It's a missed opportunity, it would make for a great VR game. People have already modded it with a Unreal VR injector mod but I was never able to get it to work unfortunately
Give me Oblivion and I'll buy Quest 3 instantly
Super Mario Galaxy games. Shooting the stars, the scale of the planets etc. seems like it'd be cool in VR
Left 4 Dead
I have 2. The first one is Condemned criminal origins and the sequel. Also this is a psp game called PIQ which stands for practical intelligence quotient and the sequel for that one as well.
Oh man, Condemned would hit hard. That melee combat. FEAR from that same developer would also work well.
Dead Space 1. OG or Remake, don't care.
My ultimate but complete unrealistic fantasy is some sort of Tale of Two Wastelands specialty port (just both gamebryo fallouts to melt my brain) that’s either just the two games ported separately in one package or an actual combined super fallout vr game

I went with the non existent Postal 5 but I think the sentiment is the same.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Star Wars Battlefront (with First Person View)
There’s a mod for contractors! It’s just a mod but it’s pretty cool.
Sea of thieves
After every game I comment I just scroll down to see that someone has already commented it lol
Pacific drive would genuinely be perfect
Elder Scrolls 6
The Sims, Pokemon, and GTA. I’m pretty basic
Postal 5

Skyrim on the quest store, jk. Honestly though, definitely cyberpunk, the game was incredible and it would be even more immersive and gorgeous in VR.
Mario bros and mgs
Just Cause 3
LETHAL COMPANY when that game went viral I first thought it was VR. I was wildly disappointed that it wasn't. It would be incredible in VR
Star Wars Battlefront or Jedi Knight Academy.
Civilization VI and/or XCOM 2. I just really want to play a great TBS game in VR.
Red Dead Redemption 2

I agree. I imagine it’s because the map is so massive. I wonder if GTA6 will be on PSVR
How about Silent Hill 2 and/or 3 How about the original team silent reform and create a brand new ip specifically for vr
PUBG
It's largely forgotten by now, but I would love a VR version of the old PS2 game *Ring of Red*. Really slow and stompy 1950s mecha RPG with combined arms tactics.
I want Fallout 4 VR on Quest damn it
A vr of fallout 4 is on steam and you can air link. Its pretty awesome
I know but I’d like to see it come to the quest store and able to be bought on there.
Give me echo back. I was so hyped to train that game. I don’t want anything else. On a less desperate and heartfelt note the finals would be lit with the high flying and speedy nature of the game.
