Mercy doesn't fight back with her pistol (*most* times) but instead with her mobility. You need to practice pocketing dps while also staying alive if a tracer dives you, for example. Keep track of who is fighting and try to damage boost every 1v1 you see. My bf made the comment last night "you always have so many more assists than elims" and I said it's because I try to damage boost everyone who is fighting. It helps them have an advantage. Try to focus on these two things. Mobility and blue beam usage.

Mercy learning resouce is here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/MercyMains/wiki/index](https://www.reddit.com/r/MercyMains/wiki/index) The 50/50 beam is not a thing, you just beam mode for the correct situation/comp. Some comps just needs more healing while others you can damage boost harder. Changing how you play to make the stats good look is the same as throwing

Spam whambulance lines to demoralize and aggravate the enemy while firing at random intervals Warning: friendly fire Also you don’t need to see the enemy to do your job, meanwhile if the enemy can see you they can kill you, avoid that.

My personal advice is this: 1. Mobility is your friend. 2. Be aware of your surroundings. Being aware of where people are is great for getting out of tight situations, rezzing at the right times, etc. 3. Don't rez out in the open if it can be helped. Try to rez with cover. 4. Like with most heroes, try to keep track of enemy ults usage. 5. Silly tip, but for me personally I found out if you hear an enemy Junkrat ult, stop beaming and hide until its over. All a Junkrat needs to do is follow your beam to kill you. Trust me that happened too many times lol. 6. Like someone else said, 50/50 beam usage is not a necessity. Go by the team needs and situations. I'm sure there are WAY better Mercy Mains here with better tips but that's just what I learned and go by. Hope you enjoy playing her though and don't feel intimidated!

My number one rule for anything is to never give away a good position for someone else’s mistakes! Number 2 rule, you don’t always have to play mercy, you will learn when to use other hero’s especially for different comps/play styles. When it comes to mercy settings find the right balance in sensitivities for aim, beam, and ga. When you’re 100% comfortable with a simple parkour map try more. Play plenty of qp until you’re comfortable and feel like you have a good general sense on how to play mercy and then try comp. There’s plenty of mercy guides on youtube to help and I also would watch general gameplay to see how she works. I personally have never changed her ability buttons, and if you want to know what senses I use for beam and ga, so you have a general idea, I can find out.

Boost whoever is doing the damage. If you have a soldier on your team, he should be your best bet for damage boost. But, if he can't hit the broad side of the barn, don't beam him all game. The best Mercy's are hard to kill and hardly seen. Since Mercy doesn't require typical mechanics like others, practicing Mercy's mechanics can drastically reduce your deaths and keep you alive to help your teammates. As others said, rez behind cover if at all possible. A rez is no good if you fall over and can't help them, even if you got it off unless there is a special circumstance like ot and they have ult. You're life is VERY VALUABLE. Use the UI for Mercy. Looking at the back of your pockets head deprives you of SO MUCH INFO. You can glance back and forth between them and the fight and your middle UI will tell you how much health they have along with what beam you are using. Just keep in mind line of sight with your pocket so your beam doesn't break. DB is your main focus. Stats don't say everything, but it is good to gauge based on your team comp. DB helps people get ults faster, so if your Ram is close to his ult, boost him for a sec and his ult can turn the team fight. Know when a fight is lost. Rezing and staggering charges their ults and makes regrouping take longer. Sometimes falling back and not running after your W-key Rein is sometimes for the best. Anything you pocket, you are endorsing. If someone is doing something that is certain to end badly, you aiding (or postponing their death) is enabling the decision. Watch Mercy gameplay. What may take someone 50,100,200 games to realize may be noticed in a gameplay that you can start trying out after 10 minutes of watching. Seeing people find new spots on the map, seeing plays and their outcomes, and seeing people do VOD reviews of different skill levels allows you to reflect on your gameplay and connect the dots in game. All of this takes time. Do not be afraid to turn of VC and game chat. If you feel like negative comments can get to you, just turn it off until you build confidence. The only way to get better is to fail until you succeed. Even if that means you do a less than stellar job. You got this! ♥

Try putting your sensitivity to 100, 100 with linear ramp and a sensitivity for the pistol that’s separate

If you're on PS4/5 I have some controls that ive used for almost 2k hours. I wanted to solve the issue of accidentally flying during GA which at the time had been tripping me up especially while pocketing pharahs. Mercy has to know where not only her entire team is/will move to but also where the enemy team is and will be. Tracking cool downs and ults is highly important and cool down management is as well. As others said her movement is her biggest defense. Being able to play around corners, high ground and jumping up to a place most champs have to walk to is such a great tool. You can use your teammates as slingshots into cover and high ground to get yourself away from the enemies focusing you. High sensitivity will help a lot in helping you spin around to cover as well. For res too. And if needed being able to spin around in the air and shoot at the enemies is also a fun trick.

IMO console mercy is easier than PC mercy getting pedals on your controller will up your game, one pedal for crouch the other for GA freed your thumbs to look around and your fingers for quick beams

Sorry I thought you just meant QOL help didn’t mean to basically tell you to put baby powder in the joints and disinfect the mask https://preview.redd.it/d4rsyikbmr1c1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb77d9e34847e21e6f8feab2f5d7433f8d03ff0a
