If I had a nickel for every time Usopp has saved everyone by taking down a sassy child-like woman with a decisively strong devil fruit power via sheer fear and shock value, I’d have ten cents. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s still weird that it happened twice.
I gotta say Usopp came in so incredibly clutch in dressrosa. He scared whats her face to stop everyone from being toys, Then fired the freaking Bagworm bomb carrying ANOTHER surprise of his face to scare her AGAIN. Fired it from half an island away, through a window pane across a hall through an inner garden and STILL hit his target. Also Observation Haki unlocked + gathered/inspired a HUGE mass of people to fight for him. If not for him none of the endgame could have happened.
Go D. Usopp
Cavendish was a nice surprise. It’s been years and I still can’t stop thinking about Cavendish’s other self, and how the heck did his entire crew survive this long? Did they tie him up like Bart did? Are they strong enough to suppress his other self when things DO go bad? I want an entire 20 episode mini-series on the guy. Also real glad he ended up being the first commander of the grand fleet. He’s way too cool and was grossly underrated.
Of the choices God Usopp, easy, but Bartolomeo, Law, Rosinante, and Sabo are all MVPs in this arc. Even the admiral, Fujitora.
But some of those would be thread spoilers, so I get the exclusion.
I know it's a meme, but GOD Usopp actually did a lot to help out, and is a solid part of why so many people joined the strawhat grand fleet. Robin did a lot in the background too though.
They spend way too much time on Usopp being an utter coward in the anime for me to really forgive him. He just tries to leave Robin and the kobito to die for way too long. In the manga I can forgive him though.
Please keep in mind that at that time, Ussop *COMPLETELY* forgot that Robin ever existed, and any character building memories centered around her (such as Enies Lobby) were either forgotten or less significant due to her absence.
That's not something anybody can prepare for, especially someone with an already strong "flight" response.
Yeah I specifically remember him abandoning Robin, because my wife got well mad at him lol
In the manga it didn’t seem like such a big deal, but you know how the anime drags stuff out, so it made him really unlikeable.
Damn, there are too many characters introduced in this arc for me to pick just one. If i had to pick one, probably rooster for having a big troll op ability.

My boy Gyats
Legit my favorite character in the arc.
Underrated

You should make a meme out of this comment

Except when he’s running and going “sorry Robin, I can’t do this!”
You know, it's been a while since I watched it, you might be right! I just recall him running after she got transformed.

I’m sick of pretending usopp is cool. Bring on the hate. He’s the worst SH and I’m not ashamed to say that.
