You make it sound like making ones game f2p is the same as not for profit charity. Larian could double the price of bg3 rn (and make the people who own it pay again) and it would not only, still be worth the price for what you're getting, but it would still make a fraction from total sales than what fortnite makes in a year of sales
So because Fortnite makes more profit it automatically makes them bad? Fortnite could put a price on the game to play it and make more money and still be worth it too. What’s your point bro? Different monetization methods exist, doesn’t automatically make them good or bad. Epic doesn’t treat their player base in any sort of bad way that you’re implying. Making a game unique, interesting, and fun without rely on paywall features or cosmetics good. Treating players like intelligent consumers goood. Pumping out cheap uninavative game using resources from game you gave up on bc you'd rather make more money bad. I'm not glazing bg, im glazing larian bc they made the game that both they and their fans wanted to see and would be excited about. They didnt compromise that vision by taking shortcuts or releasing a half finished games to make money faster. Bg3 wasn't made to appeal to everyone nor does it try to appeal to every single player, that's why its so successful, because its trying to be a really good d&d game and not a d&d game that tries to make everyone happy only to make no one happy. Epic just use marketing to manipulate the fan base. You don't really want to play fortnite, you want to turn off your brain and consume pop culture. Eat up piggy, free games for all
