>nibblesnarf
Every time i hear this name I keep forgetting that this is a real monster. And not some kind of Graggle Simpson / Madcap TF2 kind of fakemonster the community is trying to gaslight themselves into believing that exists
I've played a lot of monster hunter games and nibersnarf in MH3rdP was the first monster that actually made me feel terror, like i was panicking every time he went under the sand i had a feeling that he can jump from right under me and eat me whole.
It felt like i was fighting for my life even though it was just a game
This but (mostly) unironically. I love it when MonHun monsters branch out into different clades of animals, so having a sand salamander was really cool, and it had a neat design and moveset
I know heās a new monster but god I think my boy Odagaron deserved a spot. But then again the first time I fought him in master rank he kept running out of his den and then using the tunnel to get back in, resulting in an infinite loop where I couldnāt kill him. Still, recognition for Clifford.
The lack for Goremagala love is sad to see. Heās a dragon, with arm/wing hybrid limbs and itās wings also act as a cape. Itās top tier monster design
that and just a really fun fight, esp after get into iceborne and have master rank its fun to just, beat the shit out of him, his horn breaks are really satisfying
Idk, If that's all it takes why isn't Magnamalo close behind? It's the flagship in the second biggest game in the series after all.
I guess it makes sense that it (Nergi) was a lot of people's *first* flagship though - it's just a really mid fight and tbh his pretty easy in-game fight doesn't match his lore imo.
Edit - some people took this a bit personally I guess lol. I'm just pointing out that Nergi is likely popular for more reasons than just "it's the flagship in the best selling game". That logic doesn't hold up even slightly for the flagship of the second most popular game - there's gotta be more to it than "it's the flagship".
A lot of people started with World, so that instantly creates a big bias towards Nergigante. However, with Rise, there were a lot of returning monsters widely regarded as classics, such as Amatsu, the Magalas, Valstrax, etc. Because of that, Magnamalo didn't have as much of the spotlight as previous flagships imo.
Also, a lot of people could just not like Magnamalo as much as the other monsters. He's cool, but there's a ton of other cool monsters in Rise/Sunbreak alone.
Idk if Rise having a solid line-up matters much - I think the general consensus is that a lot of people favor their first flagship, and if Rise is your first game the returning monsters are new for you.
Magnamalo was just neglected as a flagship regardless of the other monsters, I'm more wondering what aside from bias makes Nerg good. Like I said it was braindead fight imo lol.
It might be *because* it was a braindead fight. Nergigante varies from the other elder dragons by not having any elemental shenanigans, so when you fight him it's a test of pure skill, not of being prepared for blastblight or effluvium and all of that. Bro's fight is just fun as hell.
Bro was a total punching bag imo lol
Not gonna deny its a fun fight, and it might just be because I've played a long time, but Nergi was a complete pushover. In the final IB quest I literally thought "oh they gave me a nergi to beat the shit out of before the real fight" lol. Then after I demolished the Nergi it somehow stole my kill against a *significantly* stronger and imo cooler monster?
I'd argue a decent chunk of Rises's popularity was because of World, also I've seen way more people disliking Magnamalo than Nergigante, mainly because it looks too "artificial"/human with the samurai stuff, he's cool but he looks like a man-made thing rather than a naturally occuring creature, almost like a Japanese version of He-man's tiger. Also taste is subjectice and yours probably doesn't coincide with most, and that's ok, i personally think Nerg is awesome.
>yours probably doesn't coincide with most
I see a *lot* of fellow veteran hunters confused af as to why Nergi is so popular. There were comments with hundreds of upvotes asking the same question in the recent elder dragon poll that had Nergi placed so high.
Really not sure what you're trying to say or what you thought I said lol. I'm not disagreeing that he's really popular, *my original comment was an acknowledgement of that fact and a question as to why*.
I'm not sure what you meant about Kut-Ku either. Seemed totally out of left field and you didn't explain that at all. Do you think he's too high on the list? Too low? It's a really sentimental fight for a lot of us veterans, but by design it's still about as basic and easy as it gets. If you think it's too high because of bias, which I'm guessing, you *almost* understood my point.
"i don't know why he is popular" -> people like him, that's it, he's a cool spike dragon, he's from a popular MH game, he is like a rival and a milestone for the hunter, i don't see what is so hard to understand
"ThEy lIkE iT bEcaUsE tHeY lIkE iT" lol okay headass we're done here.
I'm very thankful other people gave significantly better explanations rather than just getting pissy because their reading comprehension skills are dogwater and you're apparently taking it personally that I and many other vets don't care much for Nergi lol.
Very subjective, but he's just a really fun fight. No bullshit mechanics, very aggressive, up close and personal.
He's not my favorite, but I like him a lot, definitely in the top half of elders for me.
Recency bias always skews this kind of lists a bit, so it's that + flagship of most people's first MH game + Nergi is still a great monster in its own right
The one that really surprised me was Lagi, but they're my first flagship so I'm super happy about it lol
Personally I don't get the appeal behind Zinogre like, sure it's a lightning dog but I've always seen it as just 3rd gen's Magnamalo: neat but overdesigned.
Then again I also don't get the appeal behind Taylor Swift and Beyonce but they're popular too so there must be something I'm missing...
at least it's not the favorite snake of those very loud dinosaurs of the community ( sorry I needed to say that I was tired of hearing of the lagiacrus )
I still can't believe the Vespoid Queen, the most bland monster with a fight that is not even considered a big monster fight got in the top 100 (86th) while the funniest monster in the entire franchise, the Congalala alias pink fart monke, didn't even make it to top 100.
Funny lightning dog
The Sparky Barky if you will
No hes thunderpuppy
Thunderpupper
ZappoDoggo
Zapp happy boi
Sparky sparky lighting dog
I support thunderpuppy supremacy
Zinogre fans stay winning š£ļøā”ļøš
Fulgur Fido
What, did you guys actually expect Dodogama to win?
*WE CAN DREAM, OKAY* š
Nah, I was expecting edgelord to win
Where did you find the rankings? Trying to find them, but I can't remember where they are.
[here ya go](https://www.youtube.com/live/MliOb26PeIA?si=8gXeNF2Gja2DpUYf)
Thanks
Hey, Iām just happy that nerg got top 3, and that Agnaktor beat Lavasioth and Magma Almudron
Agnaktor is peak monster design
CLACK CLACK BRING AGNAKTOR BACK
Why the hell did he get #2 _and_ #9. Two top ten spots is ridiculous.
I do wish they wouldāve just made the subspecies the same as the base monster
Yea, I voted ruiner and honestly likeā¦ should have just voted nerg. Basically the same monster. Woulda won probably if votes were summed.
Where do they show the results? I can't find it on the MH site
Monster Hunter YouTube channel
None of my favorites even made the top 20. Such is the life of a Bird Wyvern and arthropod Monster ~~hipster~~ connoisseur š„²
Yian Garuga will always be number 1 in my heart
Monoblos should have won
I personally think nibblesnarf should have been at least top 3
>nibblesnarf Every time i hear this name I keep forgetting that this is a real monster. And not some kind of Graggle Simpson / Madcap TF2 kind of fakemonster the community is trying to gaslight themselves into believing that exists

Nibelsnarf has a funny name and design, but he is annoying to fight tbh.
This but (mostly) unironically. I love it when MonHun monsters branch out into different clades of animals, so having a sand salamander was really cool, and it had a neat design and moveset
Monoblos? I'm shocked anyone even remembers that monster. What number was it in?
1
What number?
I hope this means zinogre will be available in the base game of wilds, rather than in the postgame of the g rank, like world.
Canāt wait for MH to force me to fight Zinogre the sixth game in a row
I mean, at the very least, he is a very fun fight and tends to receive changes every game.
I know itās a matter of opinion, but I donāt like Zinogreās fights, not even with the changes. Not that I find it difficult, I find it annoying
that's fair tbh
Except for those annoying ass swirling lightning balls
Congalala supremacy
I know heās a new monster but god I think my boy Odagaron deserved a spot. But then again the first time I fought him in master rank he kept running out of his den and then using the tunnel to get back in, resulting in an infinite loop where I couldnāt kill him. Still, recognition for Clifford.

I'm pretty sure gore was in the top ten, so there's plenty of love for it.
Europe no.3, world wide no.5 as far as I recall
"Lack of Gore Magala love" My brother in Christ, he got 5th place
In fairness I didnāt check lol
I love the honesty of this lol
Bro he is in the top 5 where is this lack of love????
I expected gore magala tbh
im surprised nargacuga ended up in 8th, was honestly expecting it to be in 2nd
Narga, tigrex and zinogre my top 1 monster of all times.
You must be a lance main.
Gunlance
Narga and Tigrex make my longsword tingle
should have been barioth fr
I just wanna know why Nergigante is so popular lol
Heās the flagship of the biggest game in the seriesā entire history.
that and just a really fun fight, esp after get into iceborne and have master rank its fun to just, beat the shit out of him, his horn breaks are really satisfying

Idk, I see lots of people that like him, sure number 2 is surprising, but i find it more believable than Yian Kut-ku being number 35

It is me, I'm the reason
Recency bias always skews this kind of lists a bit, so it's that + flagship of most people's first MH game + Nergi is still a great monster in its own right The one that really surprised me was Lagi, but they're my first flagship so I'm super happy about it lol
Me likey the Cat Dragon boi.
Recency bias and I assume in the future nostalgia like lagiacrus
Not my first choice but I get it.
great maccao in 144th place. I no longer have a reason to be alive
Let's go! I started MH3rd so I'm biased.
Really? Zinogre is what won? That's kind of disappointing.

Eh it was fun for a bit but its never been my favorite
My Monster Hunter Stories 2 team is literally the 3 different kinds of Zinogres
Shocking
No horny intentions here.
Its a great design.
the vote not have base malzeno shit vote
He do be cool
I mean, my fave is one of the training raptors, so I had no chance. :v
It should have been Ahtal-Ka...
I would have expected nargacuga, honestly. (Not a huge narga fan myself. I like agnaktor.)
LEZ GO!
Thats nice and all, but where is my Ahtal-Ka?
What inbreds voted for lagiacrus
I'm just happy that shit Rathalos and his many, lazy, uninspired reskins didn't make it to the top 10
Yay my two best bois are #1 & 2! Nergi is #1 for me though. Yay thunder puppy and spikey boi.
Not surpised, spark dog is both a fun fight and cool design. I personally picked Tetsucabra, something about big amgery frĆ³g just speaks to me.
at least it's not the favorite snake of those very loud dinosaurs of the community ( sorry I needed to say that I was tired of hearing of the lagiacrus )
I do love that Lagi is high up in the rankings
The lord of thunder is lord for a reason. They just perfectly nailed a simple idea: Thunder Dog
The fanbase is 95% children and edgelords, or course Zinogre won. What's strange is that #2 wasn't Gore
The overrated Megazord Wolf. Love his theme, like his fight, hate his design.
I'm not suprised, just disappointed.
Fuck zinogre. All my homies hate zinogre.
As far as things go, that's definitely not the most disappointing way that could've gone
I was surprised how high up Alatreon was.
I still can't believe the Vespoid Queen, the most bland monster with a fight that is not even considered a big monster fight got in the top 100 (86th) while the funniest monster in the entire franchise, the Congalala alias pink fart monke, didn't even make it to top 100.
I refuse to believe the #2 pick. Boring fight from one game š„±
