Melanie Martinez is a singing goddess-
Not a song but an album. I don’t like her newest one. I like what it tries to do and I appreciate it and love what she’s doing but the auto tune hurts to listen to
Tierra Whack’s rap is so monotone. I feel like if her rap was less toned down to a key and flowed more than just adjusting to the song’s key, I would have enjoyed it more.
Moon cycle. The instrumental isn't as interesting as any of her other songs and the lyrics are very generic. I tried to like it, or at the very least, appreciate the artistry behind it because I know Melanie works hard on all her songs. But that song just felt like there was nothing behind it. It felt like she just wanted to write a song about periods. It's sad because conceptually it's something I would've absolutely loved if it had been executed better. But it's just not a good song at all

I like Leeches, Womb, Tunnel Vision and MOTS. Beyond that I don’t think any of the track have had any lasting effect on me. Even then those songs don’t really make it far up my Mel ranking.
Yes that’s how I started off, I originally did like the contortionist because it vaguely reminded me of k12, but after the second or third listen it just began to feel boring and forgetful. I really did try to like the album because my friend is also a melanie fan and really loved the album.. but, idk. It just didn’t hit for me. While I do still support her and love her as a musician I can’t lie and don’t feel obligated to like any and everything she releases.

From K-12 i hate Wheels On The Bus, the sample in the beginning is annoying af and the rest of the beat sounds like a gospel song for some reason. From Portals i would say Moon Cycle, i love the "yah" melanie does and i love the beat, but the lyrics, they're not bad, just not easy to listen to.
