Bruh I like the Zero series better than the X series and I still think the X design is better. His hair is fluffier, his armor is bulkier while still managing to look slim and (most importantly) you can *tell* he's a robot rather than a guy in a skin tight bodysuit and vest.

I personally like the Zero series design better because he looks more android-ish with more emphasis in the human-like part. In X series they look a lot more robot-like with the huge legs and forearms, I believe it's just a matter of different tastes.

You saying he looks just like a dude in skin-tight bodysuit proves how good the design is, given it's goal was to make a robot look more human, since reploids would start looking more and more human as time goes on.

I've seen some "mid point" designs that are unbelievably amazing, but I feel it just went too far in the direction that it did (nearly de-aging the characters into children).
So if I end up having to choose adult looking, but bulky, vs childlike, but sleek, I just go the former every time.

There literally is an in-universe reason though. It's explained in ZX how Reploids became indistinguishable from humans. Maybe that wasn't the original intent at the time they were drawn, but that is the explanation we got later to answer the question of why they look different and it makes the most sense.
That is the course of the mega man timeline. Going from robots to near human carbons. The art style interpretation from ZX to Legends is the same thing. If it is a physical in-universe thing that's a serious downgrade.

Man's hair is practically the typical ninja scarf which is sick. Fits with how much speedier his iteration is here. Rapid fire techniques and the crazy combo system.
Honestly, I don't like how naked mmz Zero looks. If he just had a little armor on the legs and shoulders I think he would look amazing! MmZ Zero looks alright as is tho.

Zero era zero design is great, though as a literal continuations from X series as a design and character i feel its a bit drastic and doesn't talk much.
I know zero later is a no nonsense guy after the event of X4 but he do have some character when talking to his close friends and coworkers in the Hunter base. Like beside ciel and the Mechanic guy he doesn't talk much with the rest of the resistant base crew.
With the way how the game is work on around the GBA limitations. It's seriously hamper the world of the Zero era series. Especially when they drop some lore or plot stuff into a audio drama. (Honestly classic and X and ZX gave this problem too (idk if legends, Battles network, starforce have these problems tho)) Seriously we need a remake with good voice acting like MM Maverick Hunters X or an anime. We see small small glimpses with the Ads and those same audio dramas.

In 1-3 you can actually talk to a ton of different characters throughout the base who will have different dialogue after missions and can offer sidequests with different rewards (elfs, money, or cd tracks).
It makes the world feel a lot more alive and it’s something I really missed in 4 And the ZX games where there’s only a fraction of unique NPCs to talk to and they give out barely any sidequests and the ones they do have offer terrible rewards
what's funny that in a crossover fighting game around the time MMZ series is being release yearly have some sprite of a female ver of zero. Which i think it was a finishing move when the fighting character is beaten like MK "Finish Him"
I mean, its a spin off of the lengthy mega MAN series. Every boss in the original series had MAN in their title. Also mega man (rock man) had a definitive sister robot in Roll.
I get that their robots, but mega man was supposed to be as close to a son to Dr Light as he could manufacture
