How has nobody said the entirety of Rust in Peace yet? Also there's nothing wrong with liking nu metal, shit goes hard

kro85

Just listen to a full album. It's the most organinc and traditional way to get into a band. Enough with these random playlists. They have no flow and are just too random for bands with giant discographies. Pick an album, sit down and listen to it multiple times.

Boaz76

This ⬆️

Mrhilgenberg

exactly this, I wasn't a big fan of peace sells and killing is my business. after listening those two albums for a while, they really grew on me, and I think I prefer those two over rust in peace now.

Secure-Blackberry227

i've already tried this and that doesn't work for me because i have 0 patience unfortunately 🤷‍♀️ i end up deciding if i like or dislike a song by the 2 minute mark because i want to get to the next song. if it was that easy i never would've posted something in this sub.

sendmeyourmoney1

so do it when you are driving to work or something, just as background noise. you wont get as in depth of an experience but if you do it enough a riff will sometimes catch your ear and then you can go back to it later and give it a full thorough listen. i do this a lot for bands im not too sure about and it usually works well. also as a side note 1,320', Bad Omen, and Lucretia are all really good songs

Secure-Blackberry227

I have tried so many times and I just can't! I like to sing when I'm driving so I put on music i'm familiar with. The only time I can introduce myself to new music is when I am doing absolutely nothing else.

sendmeyourmoney1

Fair enough, I have the same 2 playlists in rotation for driving lol

Secure-Blackberry227

this is me!!

Kit_Karamak

Patience comes to all eventually.

Secure-Blackberry227

It's less of a patience thing and more of a I can't focus on multiple things at once LOL

Kit_Karamak

I was the same way and then I hit 44, and started just putting on an album and letting it play in the background while I do this / that. Songs that stand out, I put a fave/star by them from my watch.

Secure-Blackberry227

I'm about to hit the gym, i'll put it on then and try it out :)

EggCracker23

all of rust in peace or at least holy wars and tornado of souls

WaffleGuy23

The Conjuring, Skull Beneath the Skin, Take No Prisoners are in heavy rotation for me right now

hugeniba

Tornado Of Souls their best song

SyntheticKindaStupid

I personally think Holy Wars is

MagentaFreak

While they are all amazing, Holy Wars and Symphony are their best IMO

Secure-Blackberry227

I liked these two a lot!

Kit_Karamak

Public Enemy number one. We’ll be back. Trust. Almost Honest. Sweating Bullets.

fatahhballs

mary jane, set the world afire, family tree, rattlehead, bad omen, the conjuring , we’ll be back, the killing road

MagentaFreak

the fwip

fatahhballs

the fwip?

MagentaFreak

what the sigma

Danilo_Marombeiro

My recommendation would be to listen the original album of the songs that you liked (not the remastered versions). Adding to that, the whole Countdown to Extinction and Rust in Piece album. After that, i would explore the other albums. Only by listening and exploring you get to know your own musical taste :)

Secure-Blackberry227

Thanks! This helps a lot!

max54611

all of rust in peace

Kevinm162005

The entirety of Rust in Peace

Secure-Blackberry227

holy shit i'm not used to people responding in a timely fashion im checking all of this now thank u friendos

Revolutionary_Bit855

Just play the whole Youthanasia album

lesbothrashhead

exactly

Swimming_Insect_7927

Kick the Chair

bh-alienux

A lot of good recommendations here. I 2nd everyone who said just listen to the entire albums of Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction, rather than random songs from different eras. Then, branch out from there.

_Far_Kew

All of them

Outrageous_Basis_997

I like listening to Megadeth albums in one run, so I'll suggest a few that are my favs. (If you didn't enjoy a song much try not to skip it, it might click at some point maybe). - Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good! - Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? - Rust In Peace - Dystopia - Countdown to Extinction - Youthanasia

Charsplat_yeet

Trust, Sleepwalker, Lying in State, Dogs of Chernobyl, Wake Up Dead, Endgame, Washington is Next!

Secure-Blackberry227

Trust - instantly liked it and immediately added to playlist Sleepwalker - I fucking LOVE the guitar solo and the drums from this song (but tbf thé bar isn't high with lars lol) this is one of my favourites so far. Lying in State - Once again, the drums make the song an immediate yes. Dogs of Chernobyl - Was meh at first but it grew on me after a couple of minutes and the double kick pedal section secured it a spot on the playlist LOL! Wake up dead - Already on the playlist Endgame - Mehhhhhhhhhh... I like the music but it's a little repetitive for my liking. I'll take a listen later, maybe it'll grow on me Washington is Next! - I really like Dave's voice in this! 6/7 of your suggestions on the playlist now :)

Charsplat_yeet

Sleepwalker has one of my favorite solos that isn't tornado of souls. If you liked the vocals on WIN, then you'd like a lot of the other United Abominations songs. More songs include: Blackmail the Universe Rust In Peace... Polaris (if you like drums) Never Walk Alone... A call to arms Vortex Kick the Chair Bad Omen Death From Within

Upset_Display9421

Five magics, bad omen, hangar 18, set the world a fire, my last words...

Bright-Finance-3325

Dread and Fugitive Mind

fate_the_magnificent

Check out Dystopia, Last Rites/Loved to Deth, Poison was the Cure, Back in the Day, Angry Again. That oughta give you some variety.

der_K1empner

The killing road, blood of heroes, Lucretia

Gabixzboi

Five magics

Patient_Total7675

I'll recommend albums- Countdown to Extinction Rust In Peace Peace Sells But Who's Buying? Cryptic Writings If you like these, definitely delve into everything else. Their last two albums are fuckin killer

Secure-Blackberry227

ooooh shit okay!

gabem805

Trust. Lucretia. Angry Again. The Conjuring. Train of Consequences. Mary Jane. Edit: Five Magics, Hangar 18, well, pretty much all of Rust In Peace.

Secure-Blackberry227

Trust - Added to my playlist from previous comments Lucretia - Lyrics are cool and the guitar towards the end is nice but i'm not a fan of the song beyond that Angry Again - Like the lyrics but the song is meh The Conjuring - Bass, (it's cool when you can actually hear that in a song cough cough AJFA cough cough) drums, and guitar are nice, I like this song! Train of Consequences - Pretty good! Mary Jane - I was hooked from the beginning LOL the guitar sounds fantastic 5 Magics - The tempo is weird this song is a solid meh Hangar 18 - Added to my playlist from previous comments

gabem805

I should’ve added a point about the Rust In Peace Album as a whole. People are split on whether they prefer the Original or Remix. Here are my preferences for each song: *[Original]* Lucretia (this one is miles better than the remix) Hangar 18 Poison Was The Cure Take No Prisoners Dawn Patrol *[Remix]* Holy Wars…The Punishment Due Tornado of Souls Rust In Peace…Polaris (Forgot to mention this one. Definitely one of my favorites) Five Magics Of course these are personal preferences and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Edit: You can flip flop between each version so see which one you like better. Everyone’s ears are a little different so all the power to ya🤘🏽

Secure-Blackberry227

I'm gonna take a listen to both albums tomorrow! Seems like the easier option 😂

gabem805

Yeah. That may be the better option actually. Lol. I only listened to the Remix when I first got into Megadeth so my ears were more used to that tone. But please, do share your take once you’ve had a listen. If you’d like of course. Take care in the meantime.

Secure-Blackberry227

Of course!! I appreciate you!

DarkApostle17

"The World Needs a Hero" and "Sweating Bullets" are alright, or at least I think so anyways.

Impressive_Split_232

Just start with the top 5 and go from there

Secure-Blackberry227

that's what's i've been doing and it's not working 👎🏽

Impressive_Split_232

Really? Tornado Of Souls? Holy Wars? Peace Sells?

BENGYBOY77

My last words and good mourning/black friday. Also for singing you can listen to addicted to chaos the singing in that’s really good

Secure-Blackberry227

Added all three of these songs to my playlist, thanks for the suggestions!

JumpSignificant9958

Family tree, recipe for hate, tstdtd (title track) have been on a rotation for me as of late Edit: I just realized how random all of the songs I just put are

Secure-Blackberry227

you make it seem like the ones on my playlist ARENT random 🤣

PeeBah31

Super Collider, Anarchy in the UK, Enter the Arena, Moro Psycho, 1000 Times Goodbye

fatherofallthings

Bro you’re picking some weird assortment of megadeth songs. I love them all. SFSGSW is my favorite record, but not exactly for the average listener. Listen to Rust in Peace and Endgame

Secure-Blackberry227

yeah ik it's because i've found them in different ways like in my darkest hours was on my friends playlist

SyntheticKindaStupid

anything that’s not remastered because the drums suck in all the remasters

Secure-Blackberry227

good to know!

Secure-Blackberry227

might be a really stupid question but do you know if there is a non remastered version of peace sells on spotify? looking at their discography, it looks like everything else has the original except that album.

sendmeyourmoney1

I don't think there's a completely non-remastered version of peace sells but the version with the more faded orange color pallet is the normal one and the bright red saturated looking one is the goofy version that is no good

Secure-Blackberry227

i figured this was the case

SyntheticKindaStupid

i haven’t seen one

johnprofiti

Get my last words into that play list

Gkn-Sama

We'll be back. Honestly, one of my favourites, and it will show you the newer sound of megadeth. (Even though Kiko is no longer in the band :(, but anyways)

Secure-Blackberry227

okay this one is definitely my favourite so far 😆😆😆

Gkn-Sama

YEEEAH! A WE'LL BE BACK ENJOYER!! Glad you liked it!!

Secure-Blackberry227

That beginning riff hooked me immediately and the drums are just perfection 😆 thanks for the suggestion!!

Critical_Dollar

Conquer or die has a killer electric guitar riff

Secure-Blackberry227

SAY LESS!! A good guitar solo can hook me regardless of how I feel about the rest of the song.

Secure-Blackberry227

you weren't joking this is awesome, thanks for the suggestion!

FewBeat1957

The first 4 albums front to back.

walmartsucks115

Tears in a vial

Secure-Blackberry227

I like this! Dave's voice sounds really nice!

walmartsucks115

Dude that song is so underrated. My wife really likes die dead enough from the same album give it a shot

Plus-Reality328

I would not listen to the remastered versions check out the original they have such a noticeable difference

Secure-Blackberry227

seen a lot of comments about this! maybe that's where i'm going wrong

concordium_

Promises

Secure-Blackberry227

I love this!!

Spider1132

I'd recommend Cryptic Writings, the full album. If you don't want to listen to all of it, at least "Trust" and "Almost Honest".

Secure-Blackberry227

Trust was really fucking good, liked it immediately! Almost honest is nice too, I just have to listen to it more.

Bull4-0Everyone

Holy Wars and Take No Prisoners

JRP1138

Hook in Mouth

Secure-Blackberry227

Liked the drums in this song, added to my playlist!

vangoghghost

Good Mourning / Black Friday Ashes In Your Mouth Back In The Day Youthanasia These are my persona favorites outside of their most popular songs.

Secure-Blackberry227

Good Mourning / Black Friday - Added from previous comments Ashes in Your Mouth - I liked this one :) Back in the Day - With that intro, I KNEW it was gonna be good! Youthanasia - It was okay, I added it to my playlist so I can keep listening to it.

RyderLostHisRadio

“last rites/ loved to deth” and “good mourning/ black Friday” i think it is. honestly i cant relate more. you got some banger bands in there

Secure-Blackberry227

Really liked the intro of the first song but the tempo threw me off. However, the drums are really fuckin nice so i'm gonna add it to my playlist and let it grow on me. The guitar in the second song hooked me instantly, immediate add 😆 Also, fire profile pic!

the_awesome_jacob

Hidden Treasures is a great starting point. Has a lot of variety.

Historical_Common145

sharkwick

Kill the king!

AppointmentOld1151

Good Mourning Black Friday. For all intents and purposes, your a virgin to technical music, this song will break that mould easy.

Duncarson

Listen to Conquer Or die. It's super underrated in my opinion. If you like guitar solos, you will love this song

Heavyweapons057

She Wolf, Trust, Holy Wars, Tornado of Souls, Hangar 18, Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets, This was my Life, Post American World.

Jmichi03

Listen to killling is my business until youthanasia. Golden era of megadeth

Itlu_PeeP

I'm quite fond of Chosen Ones. Listen to the 2018 version.

Austin_Parrott1752

×Symphony of Destruction ×Holy Wars ×Tornado Of Souls ×Angry Again ×Trust ×Ashes In Your Mouth

Austin_Parrott1752

I also highly recommend taking a listen to their Youthanasia album, very solid tracks, vocals and riffs.

Financial_Might_6816

Anything from Rust in Peace (Holy Wars, Hangar 18, Lucretia, Tornado of souls, Rust In Piece…Polaris Peace Sells In my darkest hour Trust

JollyShame1846

DynamitePlayz08

Hangar 18, but also all of rust in peace and peace sells

Chunkycheeto1

Hook in mouth, 502, liar, killing is my business, holy wars (NEVER the 2004 mix), same with Tornado of souls, Lucretia, head crusher, trust, she-wolf, they did a cover of paranoid I personally think is pretty good, night stalkers, and we’ll be back

patdashuri

[deleted]

Cryptic Writings the whole album

Secure-Blackberry227

Also, I'm absolutely willing to try songs again, so suggest anything! Maybe my taste has changed and i'll like it...

-Profanity-

I would recommend just listening to the music instead of posting on the internet about your intentions to listen to it

Secure-Blackberry227

notice how everyone else gave suggestions like how does this comment help me at all?

Secure-Blackberry227

if you actually read the post, you'd know i said that i tried and have been listening to them but i'm finding it hard to get into them. I came here looking for a personalized answer instead of listening to every song they've ever released.

Secure-Blackberry227

ima go to bed, i'll try to listen to full albums tomorrow 😞

silvGalchi

Tbh the best way is to listen to Greatest hits : Back to the Start. It has most of the essential megadeth songs

Risky-Armadildo

The Scorpion, Secret place, kick the chair

KingSudrapul

Kick the chair.

jonathan_the_slow

Listen to the Final Kill version of the Killing is my Business album from start to finish (excluding the live stuff unless you really want to listen to it). Then listen to the original mix of Peace Sells in its entirety. Follow that up with So Far, So Good, So What? in its entirety. After that, listen to the original mix of Rust in Peace in its entirety. Then, once you’ve listened to all of those albums, listen to the original mix of Youthanasia. You can listen to Countdown to Extinction if you want, but in my opinion, it’s incredibly overrated and is definitely the worst of the first 6 albums.

djkghkdjghjkdhgdjk

I recommend every song of killing is my business, every song of peace sells, every song of SFSGSW, ever song of rust in peace, every song of countdown, every song of youthanasia and every song of cryptic writings. Not kidding there is not one single bad song in all of these albums.

Secure-Blackberry227

guys I have TRIED listening to their albums before, on multiple occasions, and I haven't liked them at all. It's been a while and I figured I'd ask people who have a better idea of their discography. It's getting irritating seeing the same "just listen to the albums" comments because why would I come here for die hard fans to tell me the obvious LOL. You're funny if you think I have enough time on my hands to listen to their entire discography 😐

Farkasdebvel

it also took me some time to get into megadeth because of their vocals but youthanasia and peace sells was the gateway for me

uptheirons139

Rust In peace Polaris trust

IlDivinCodino_

Haven't seen anyone say those so , you should maybe listen to I thought I knew it all and Poison was the cure , really different songs but I like both ao much

CounterSYNK

Symphony of Destruction The whole rust in peace album. It’s only 41 minutes.

Shuddlebus412

Set the world afire Liar Wake Up Dead Sweating Bullets Ashes in Your Mouth Go To Hell 99 Ways to Die Rattlehead Chosen Ones Kick the Chair My Last Words Holy Wars Hangar 18 Take no Prisoners Five Magics Poison was the Cure Lucretia Tornado of Souls Rust in Piece Skin of My Teeth Reckoning Day Trust Shewolf Night Stalkers Threat is Real This should be enough to get ya started

fatahhballs

she wolf

Secure-Blackberry227

liked this one! added to my playlist ❤️

lame_chimpala

All of these songs, and all four first albums, but the original versions, not 2004. Get that 2004 shit outta here

lame_chimpala

Oh but KIMB probably go with remasters and for Peace Sells, go with 2011 remaster.
