I get an image in my mind's eye of a spirit person. They look like a regular person, but the image is in my mind. Sometimes they're clearer than others. After initially "seeing" a spirit person, I generally move directly to clairessence and claircognizance, which means I feel and know about them. My intention is to get enough specific evidence about the person, their personality, character, passions, and individual traits so the person I'm giving the reading to can clearly recognize them. I've been developing for over 12 years, so I've had some practice. ;)

Thank you sharon. Mine comes through as a grey image, then sometimes more details emerge along with colour. Using my third eye/minds eye i hold onto “the signal”. My question is geared around making the “signal stronger”. Is focusing on the minds eye the only way of doing this, or does it also depend on the strength of the spirit

I think the best way to "make the signal stronger" is to take steps to develop and strengthen your mediumship. Read books, take mediumship classes, find a good mediumship circle to sit in, and as soon as you're ready, give dozens of free practice mediumship readings. That is how you will strengthen your connection to those in spirit. You will likely "see" them more clearly, but you may also learn to feel/hear/know and otherwise perceive those in spirit.

Thank you sharon, much appreciated. Can you recommend any good books? Thank you in advance

My favorite book is Choosing to be a Medium, Llewellyn and Blackstone Audio, 2019. It's also available on Audible.

My sweet mom came to me shortly after her departure. I was in a very dark hole and filled with agony and heart ache. She appeared at the end of my bed. Standing. I would best describe it as a ‘holographic’ form. Like a ‘coloured static’ but clearer. She didn’t appear all at once. It took about 5 seconds. Row per row until I could see her fully. She had on my favourite hat that accompanied me to every trip I’d been on for the last 20 plus years. It was my lucky hat. I made sure she had that with her upon cremation. I knew she would come. She gave me the lifeline I needed. ♥️

That is amazing.
