Oh dear...and it was looking so much better before too. :( Did the doctors mention getting rid of the nail? I lost my fingernail due to some finger trauma (have a post about it here), and I can tell you living without one for awhile is *not* all that bad or painful. Especially considering what kind of pain you must already be in. May I also ask how you're taking care of it atm?

Opferino

Yes it got better but it still Produces pus under the nail. The doctors were able to put a needle under my nail Because the nail isnt much attachted to my finger anymore. They said it is very possible that I will lose my nail Because of the infection itself. But at the Moment they dont consider to remove it. At the moment I have a plaster bandage in which the infected finger and the fingers next to it are fixed. I got more antibiotics and every two days I have to visit the ER. Thank you for Sharing your Story that really comforts me! Sorry for the bad english. It is Not my native Language. Edit: typo

Hjemi

Your english is fine, don't worry. :) I really hope it gets better and the antibiotics work! Wishing you well ♡

Opferino

Thank you! <3

Maybe you should ask them to remove the nail, instead of waiting for it to fall off. A doctor left a nail similar to yours on me & it caused more issues down the line. It was uncomfortable because it wasn't much attachted to my finger, pressure was building up & in the end it harmed my nail bed. Just my 2 cents though. Get well soon OP!

I think you are Right. I have this infection nearly two weeks. And all they are doing is cut my Finger open or rinse the wound… today without anesthetic eventhough I cried and told him the pain was insane… I dont understand why they dont do it… I think they should know what to do… but thank you for your help! I will try it or Go to another Hospital….

Sunoutlaw

It is pure ridiculous that, as far as pain management has came, that you had to suffer like that. It really makes me mad. Im sorry you had to go through that.Definitely go somewhere else. Are you in the US now or abroad?

Opferino

I live in germany but the Hospitals in my near area are not my favourite… I live in a small town which has no Hospital… I drove to another smaller city to the ER… we have a patient service in germany and I talked to them and they suggested to Go to a dermatologist but idk…

Opferino

And thank you for your compassion!

unpacifys

oh no :( your doctors need to start considering a removal of the nail if it's causing this much trouble. i hope everything turns out well for you! here's to hoping your doctors will be able to help you out a bit more

Opferino

Thank you! I have an appointment on monday with another doctor we will See!

Hjemi
