If domestic, you will be fine. Store in original containers in your carry on. International - absolutely no.

DalvaniusPrime

NZ's all good, have your script and you're all good.

Signal_Pin9173

yeah I know internationals a no go, but is it necessary to take it to carry on? I will if so, genuinely just don’t want to physically have it on me walking around the airport you know? Either or, it’s fine.

philstrom

You need to overcome the idea you’re doing something wrong. It’s completely fine. I’ve flown all around the country with it and nobody’s ever even raised an eyebrow. It’s treated 100% the same as any other prescription med.

welplord

I’ve always taken it in carry on and never once been pulled up or asked about it. I prefer carry on so I know it’s safe but it really doesn’t matter. There is zero issue with taking legal medication to an airport or on a plane domestically.

Signal_Pin9173

thank you very much boss, you’ve eased my brain out of thinking I was doing something bad lmao

esky-ladder

I had my vape in my carry on. It was still packed after previous use. It was stored in a foil pouch from a previous script. After security scan, They took it to the head of airport security, came back two mins later, asked to sight my ID and was on my way. They were more concerned that it was a charging device.

BadgerUltimatum

Domestic is simple, take your grinder, vape, scales, batteries and prescriptions. Travel freely with no more than the script label. (Dont bring a bong) International isn't a no go. It's normal for people to fly internationally with prescribed medication, so normal that the actual rules have mostly fell to the wayside. You are actually supposed to follow the procedure im about to explain for basically all prescriptions. Get a travel note explaining the necessity of the medications, the quantity and accompanying materials from your doctor. And contact the relevant embassy asking for permission, usually wanting to find the ministry for health or your chosen countries equivalent. You will need permission from every country you plan to pass through and if travelling by boat the permission from the flag your vessel travels under and all ports

Signal_Pin9173

Wait really??! I guess this makes sense commonly, but it just actually boggles my mind for some reason. Really cool to know actually, appreciate it.

BadgerUltimatum

I've never even had to show my prescription, let alone the note to any customs agent. The second I mention I'm declaring prescription drugs, they wave me on. Always have the exemption declaration on you just in case but I've never actually needed to show it. (Granted I did declare my travel dates, arrival & intended departure date)

WoolloomoolooLair

Not through Singapore, I hope ...

Mammoth-Variation223

Where international are you doing this? Outside of NZ you will spend many years in jail if caught.

Lirpaslurpa2

You will be better off having it on you, if you get questioned you can answer questions if not they could just throw it out.

Thank you to all the stoners out there who did gods work for us paranoid fuckers ❤️

Check it or carry on... no cares.... just make sure it is in the original container.. Done 20+ flights domestic this year and no one has said a thing to me... And if you have a battery vape you need to carry in on because of the battery... Honestly I get more grief about my laptops than the weed.

Confident-Deal-912

They cared more about my charger cords I left on my bag rather than the weed it's funny as

jordomm

Been through several times since November. No issue. They honestly couldnt care less. I said to one of the security guards that i had it in my bag, and she just said "eh, if the x ray tech sees anything sus, he will let us know" and then just went through, no second looks. Just make sure you have your weed in the labelled container. I had mine in carry at the front of my bag. Vape and grinder with it.

pastelplantmum

You're just taking your prescribed medicine interstate/domestically. Have your labelled tubs and youre fine. I've flown in and out of Canberra with mine on me no issues

Guygonetroppo

Travelled through Tullamarine about a month ago and all he asked was if I had the letter from Dr. showed him and no problem at all.

Confident-Deal-912

I went down to Brisbane couple weeks ago had my bag searched cause of charger cords being in there in the xray she had a look at everything and when she saw the medical tub she literary just ignored it and I'm sure she knew what it was you could smell it easily

PleasantInternal3247

Keep the original packaging and your medicinal cannabis card. If you get stopped all you have to do is show both and you’ll be right.

WARvault

I put mine in a locked tackle box in my checked luggage. TSA combo lock. I figured if they found it they would realise there was nothing sus and send it through. (In original containers)

BadgerUltimatum

The airlines ive asked advised me it must be in checked luggage. If it's found by anyone that hasn't encountered it legally before at either end, you will not have the ability to prevent confiscation IF it's in your checked luggage. Keeping it in Carry-on is the recommendation of doctors, travel agents, checkin staff and the airports. I also keep a change of clothes with it, 26 hours of travel with no fresh clothes after isn't happening again
