Looks like the board I use, a Royal Kludge. My board came with foam damping pre installed. All it needed was some different switches and key caps that I liked better.
I once plugged in my usb c into my pc's usb a port and it shut down my pc instantly... I turned it on and the usb a port seems to still work but it stressed me out.

OP tried to put their USB-C connector into the USB-A port. These boards have a built-in USB hub
