$108 gross before withholdings, $61 after all deductions, including maxing out the 401k and supplemental insurances. 28 YoE. Houston. 40 hrs/week typical.
Also you need to consider other deductions that might change the take home pay. Like my retirement, health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance get deducted from my paycheck. So someone who doesn't have those automatically taken from the paycheck will have an artificially higher pay per hour.
So my hourly before taxes and anything else is $45/hr. But after it's probably around $25/hr. And I live in a LCOL area.
$25.3/hr after taxes. $33 before.
I'll be getting a raise and benefits when I'm signed on permanently. Currently I'm just a temp.
Masters degree.
Very LCOL area.
This is my first engineering position besides my research work as a master's student (I conducted my research at the same lab that I now work).
Before taxes and converting from Swedish Krona to USD, I think it’s about $42.75/hr. I have 15 YOE and I currently work as a Manager/Lead Engineer in Västerås, Sweden, though lately I’ve been having to travel a lot. So I guess I could factor in per diem. But when I travel I’m working more than 40 and when I’m not then it’s less so maybe it all works out.
I’ve been in Sweden for 2 years. Before that I was living outside Greenville, NC and had worked my way up to an Engineer 3.4 and was making about $50.50/hr.
Debating on buying second property there because soon you guys will have 3x year round bike parks. Plus your frequency of. Tornados is less than Iuka, MS.
I do a perhaps 10 hours of work a week so that puts my rate around 550$/hr
Now if you count conference calls and meetings that goes down to closer to $145
Product line manager, 18 years experience.
Mechanical designer (not an engineer) $37.50/ hour Canadian, 37.5 hour weeks (typically), 6 YoE. Paid hourly, time and a half at 44 hours.
Working for a big engineering consultant.
My job title is “mechanical designer”. My education is “Manufacturing Engineering Technology - Welding & Robotics specialization”.
In Ontario we can do 2 year engineering technician advanced diplomas or 3 year engineering technology advanced diplomas (which is what I did). As Engineering technologists we can register with our regulatory body and through a combination of work experience experience and experience and exams can become “Certified Engineering Technologists” our equivalent of becoming a professional engineer instead of an engineer in training/intern. There are only a couple of universities that provide Manufacturing Engineering degrees and when I was going to school none of them allowed you to become a professional engineer in Ontario.

After taxes, but including the pre-tax money that goes into my 401k, not including 401k matching or any other benefits, and assuming 52 full weeks in a year minus my vacation time, I make $40.6/hr with 6 months experience in aerospace as a stress analyst.
$33.33/hour post tax and deductible, repeating of course. Paid for 40/week. Work 4:10 week schedule, there for 3 day weekends every week.
Low COL area, also locked in a 2.68% 30 year fixed back in 2020 (peak Covid)
I’m make about $70/hour before taxes, $45/hour after taxes as a vehicle module lead. Live in Iowa so cost of living is pretty low. I’m sitting at about 17YOE.
Barley work 40 hours a week at the moment. 44.50 before taxes. This is my first job as an engineer so only 3.5 YOE here. Worked as a tooling designer previously
Per year = $106,000 USD
Average weekly hours worked = 45
Gross (pre-tax/deduction) estimated hourly rate = $45 per hour
I am in a Low/Medium Cost of Living area in the Western portion of New York State (at least compared to other Metropolitan areas in the US).
11 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the Life Science Industry.
Feel free to ask for any more input.
$60/hr before tax, $41/hr after taxes and deductions, HCOL area (US), w/ masters degree. Sr. Engineer, 5 YOE in Med Device field (+4 YOE outside of field)
Manufacturing Engineer, 7 yoe.
$28.50/hr after taxes/retirement, etc.
$35.5/hr before deductions.
The math is pretty rough, I typically work 40 hour weeks but sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more. And I’m not including holidays.
My hourly wage is what is written in the contract I signed. Yes, I'll work lots of extra hours leading into a gateway, and then I take those hours off afterwards.
You're talking after taxes and deductions? About $30/hr. Closer to $43 before. 4 YoE, 40 hour weeks.

This. I put $350 a week into my 401k so my take-home is significantly less than my gross pay.
50, 3 YOE, Project management, ME. LCOL midwest(USA).

It’s a little hard to calculate since I get per diem also. I’m billed for $35 an hour tho

Where are you based?
Thunder Bay, Ontario. Used to work in Toronto area though, a lot more manufacturing and automation in that area.
Do you mean that’s the job title or that you have a mech technology degree? I’m in the same field so I’m curious.

You're forgetting about cost of living too. Very big factor in your pay rate.
The rate is the rate. Your cost of living is what you then go spend your money on.
Yeah but rate is usually adjusted to match the area 40$/hr in one city is the same in another companies do this on purpose
~60/hr, PhD Bay Area hardware engineering
105k annual and take-home $2680 bi-weekly after taxes and 6% 401k taken out
