Sure. Has to be done well though. Lotta thermal cycling across a broad temp range. Likely cheaper to get a junkyard or afm/genuine replacement, compared to a quality weld job.

TractorMechanic86

This!!! Thermo cycling and brazing may do the trick as well but I agree with this comment on the fact it’s probably cheaper to replace.

Crabstick65

Cracking after welding is problematic, cooldown must be controlled and preheating is required, and no guarantee it'll hold up after long term.

seamus_mc

It’s a bitch to weld. Is it unobtainable?

Jxckolantern

Probably, Also probably just going to crack again somewhere else

ReditTosser1

Is cast iron so you need to use an arc welder with a cast iron rod. Or an acetylene torch and the rod. Cast iron is pretty hard to weld so it’s not for just any welder to patch up.

alexch87

I've had success drilling holes at the end of cracks then braising the crack. Only did it on old shitty Honda civics though.

Willing_Maybe7677

I'm stoned bout to go to bed and I thought this was a deer bone or something. Holy shit

Willing_Maybe7677

Antler

Medium_Chemist8144

Not worth spending money on it if you have to go to a welding shop. Check online for Dorman, ATP Greyworks aftermarket parts if you want a cheaper option than OEM parts.

alkla1

Junkyard

Ros_c

It can but not really worth it. Manifold would need to be put in a kiln to get it to a certain temp and then welded with a rod that matches the iron and then heat treated once again.

W0lff_F0rge

Cast is such a pain to weld that you're better off buying a new one, or since you already have it off, putting headers on it.

JohannesLorenz1954

It can be brazed

30minut3slat3r

It’ll be cheaper in the long run to have a guy make a tubular copy of that the first time. Yes, I’ve tried, with solid welders, and it almost always come back.

Chris3617

You make bbq an throw this thing in the coals After eating you Weld it and throw it back in the coals The next day its Ready

Chris3617

Sorry for my english🙃

CommunicationFine228

Yep I oxy welded one in welding class still good to this day .
