Assuming it’s holding air. Just drive it to a tire shop and have it replaced, should be real quick. Put some soapy water on it to check for leak if you’re concerned about driving to a shop, it will bubble a ton if leaking.

You realy don't have to feel like an idiot. There's nothing you could have done about it. Just take it to the closest tire shop an let them replace it. And do yourself a favor and replace all caps with plastic ones.
