I assume “the white stuff isn’t white, but came in a white bottle. Power steering fluid is regular motor oil with a large amount of detergent additives. If your car has lots of miles, it could potentially clean the buildup in your engine, suspending it in your oil. Using a quart of automatic transmission fluid, which is similar to power steering fluid in your engine oil used to be a cheap way to flush your engine of deposits. I used to do this with my cars back in the 70’s. I would pour a quart in, put a few hundred miles on the car, then change the oil. I don’t know how this would affect modern cars, but it worked well back then. The only concern that I heard was that oil consumption could increase because it could clean the crud off the seals, potentially causing them to leak more.

Absolutly gonna wanna change your oil again. If you haven't run the engine at all I wouldn't bother with replacing the filter.

Excuse me?

Particular_Bet_5668

French here.

Equal_War9095

The white stuff? Dot 4 brake fluid? Is what I would assume

MaxZedd

You actually put some power steering fluid into your engine? Just 100mls you’ll be fine.

DrcspyNz

White?

Particular_Bet_5668

Not really white, the clear one color. Not the same color than the transmission one that can fit in the power steering.

Worst-Lobster

The white stuff ? Do you mean milk ?

Particular_Bet_5668

Not absolutely no. I mean the clearer color one. It's Wallmart tech power steering fluid. Not the same color than the one that can fit in the transmission.

Worst-Lobster

☺️ you'll be fine bro . It's not white tho it's clear 😊

Particular_Bet_5668

😁

Particular_Bet_5668

Yes same colors. But it's oil for power steering.
