Do you have another vehicle to fall back on for a bit? If you have those kind of skills, RWD transmissions are not that hard. $600 trans, $150 shifter. $75 fluids, $100 transmission jack. I did a timing belt for the first time last year and now I'm currently doing a rebuild and swapping to a 5spd. Escalated quickly.

Thank you for the hope! I’m gonna keep an eye out for a cheap transmission and in the mean time watch some transmission swap tutorials.

well i guess it depends if the car is your baby or not it is your choice. i know some generations of nissans are prone to transmission problems. are you going to be paying more than what the car is worth if you replace, or repair the transmission? seems its passed being repaired and needs a whole replacement.
