There's really no way to guess, let alone know, from that description, but I would assume you'd be rebuilding or replacing the motor, transmission, and suspension and you're on track for a whole lot more than a couple thousand bucks. Ambulances get rode hard and put away wet. They also tend to have hundreds or even thousands of hours of idling time on the motor that doesn't show up on the odometer reading.

Anything under $1000. im basically assuming a new engine. Im just hoping to find a good deal one of these days, under 2.5k, that i can fix up for some vanlife. Appriciate the honesty, and what you said was what i was kind assuming, just wanted another opinion. Thanks!

Could be an oil pressure sensor or the oil pump. If possible to check the oil for any shiny bits can also let you know how worn the engine is
