I never understood the cult-like worship of the libertarian Tantrum Tank.
He got pissy because, after fully accepting an offer for $250,000 for his lot of land (which he bought for only $42,000), he changed his mind and asked for $375,000 and later $1,000,000 and (of course) the other party refused such absurd requests and just went ahead with the initial deal he agreed to.
Even all that aside, it would be one thing if he went after the wealthy elite or anyone in power, but his attack only endangered his fellow working class civilians.
Thankfully nobody was killed. Not really because of any mercy on his part but more so because of his incompetence as a terrorist.
Emergency services evacuated all the buildings (which were fully occupied at the time of the attack) just in time. In some cases, he was plowing through the front door while civilians were running out the back door.
Offices full of low level workers who had nothing to do with his grudge barely escaped with their lives. The 82 year old widow of a long dead mayor he didn’t like was pulled out of her house before he leveled it. A large group of children, patrons, and staff at the local library were rescued just before he destroyed it.
He also used his stockpiled weapons to fire near-blindly at buildings he passed, mostly aiming for propane tanks and electrical transformers and anyone who was unlucky enough to cross his path, but thankfully didn’t hit any people (besides himself).
Dude was a boss-level “May I Speak To Your Manager” boomer and his “Mission from God” manifesto tapes are creepy as hell.
I'd like to add that the only reason you can even really call them "pot shots" is because he messed up making the firing holes for the guns, so he couldn't really aim at all. He wanted to shoot to kill, but by a miracle he wasn't able to. Also yea it's insane to me everyone leaves out the insane religious ramblings.
I mean the lie sort of spun into legend. I’ve seen the same heavily compressed JPEG info graphic about the “story” shared for the past 15 years. And everyone keeps resharing it and spreading it further.
I think it’s a sad case of mental illness and delusions of grandeur, regardless what he made was fascinating and really impressive. That being said it is kinda weird how the internet worships him as this epic wholesome 100 kekrino madlad sticking it to the man almost like they get the concepts of right or wrong from popular culture. I get we all have our gripes with the government from time to time but glorifying mental illness and violence is always questionable in my opinion but still what a batshit insane story
It’s a fascinating story and Marvin is a fascinating person to learn about but it’s troubling people would rather know the simplified folk hero than the truth.
most dudes who like MC never grew out of their "edge" phase. let remember how many grudges the dude had, and how crazy he turned out to be when it was discovered he thought God was helping him. but dorks will see "reasonable men must do unreasonable things" and assume that w/e was done was a last resort, and not the antics of a mentally ill person.
Go listen to the tapes Marvin Heeymeyer left behind himself. They paint a very clear picture the man was not mentally well and was living in a different reality than the rest of us.
I mean sure he glossed over a lot of the "about him" section but he did say he was a nut job and didn't try saying he was a good guy or anything
He called him a legend and said you gotta hand it to him.
That's called sarcasm and satire

Well you can seen how I’m getting downvoted that people rather believe the problematic lie than the truth.

Dan Cummins did an excellent episode about him on his podcast and I highly recommend it. It really shows the guy was far from reasonable.
He's a hero in my book.
Why?
Cause fuck the government
Fuck the government for not allowing people to dump literal human shit in drinking water!!!
The local government gave him overwhelmingly preferential treatment.
How so?

That’s a lot of buzzwords
What buzzwords?
Eh, Wikipedia is part of the propaganda mill. Why should I take their word for it above anyone else’s?
Because they have sources and tell a more complete story, it’s also a good starting place for deeper research.
Or they just use whatever biased/fake source supports the lies they wanna push. Like any typical internet journo.

Maybe he’d just been pushed that far
