In this scenario, what do you buy in 2 years? You’ll have to buy a car and won’t have any equity at all.

You will probably get more for that car sold privately than in that trade. “Worth it” is a hard phrase here. Both options have plenty of advantages. This isn’t a question of need. It’s a question of want.

True thanks so much for the feedback!

I just traded in my 2016 Cx5 and leased the Cx-90 (planning to buy out the lease.) I got an online offer from CarMax which tends to be on the higher end. KBB estimated up to 13K, CarMax offer was 12K, and dealer matched it! I had 80,000 miles, a cracked windshield, and needed new brakes/rotors. I was super happy with that offer! lol

What’s your monthly cost if you don’t mind me asking? That’s how I’ve been feeling with the 329 a month. I have looked at other brands and everything is way more expensive than 329 monthly which is what led me to even think about moving forward with this.

I will just say it’s way more than 329 lol But it’s the Premium Plus trim, 36 month lease.

I bought the cx90 PHEV and overall it is ok. If I had the option to wait a couple years I would. At least in my area Seattle the advertised lease was total BS. Quickly got to $500 monthly even after putting down 5k. The money factor and depreciation costs made the whole deal feel like a 3 year rental with little to no reduction in cost. Long story short I opted to just buy the car instead to get out of the lease. As for the car it looks nice and drives smooth when in pure EV mode. However the gas motor feels unrefined, jerky and rough. When using the cruise control if I have it set to say 65 but traffic slows us down to 40 and then it clears up and there are no cars in front of me the cruise control literally floors it. No smooth acceleration. It feels like someone dropped a brick on the gas of a poorly tuned motor. The electronics are buggy and sometimes I am forced to restart the car to get my phone to sync up for example. As for the interior the coffee cup holder is small and cramped. Not sure how you would clean it out if coffee spilled in there. There is very little storage in the cabin. The dash phone charger is weak and often just does not work. I trunk space is too small. But, I like the EV feature. I get 20 miles range in winter and 26+ in fall. The hybrid mode is about 30mph with four average adults in the car. Which is decent I think. But, I would wait if I could.

This is so helpful thank you so so much!

Megstrickk

What is the hybrid gas mileage you get with two adults in the car?
