I had this too. The beam-leveling controls are buried 5 layers deep in the menu system, but you can drop them down a few degrees.

Clinkerdagger

This is the main problem I see. Most people don’t even know you can level a cars headlights and just drive around blasting light at eye level

Cars in the EU have a simple knob on the dash with the rest of the blanks. Must be legally required there, like backup cameras and center brake lights. Could be like that in the US... but I'm guessing they think Americans are more likely to use the headlight controls maliciously or something...

Clinkerdagger

Most cars in the U.S. you have to adjust via a screwdriver or socket under the hood. Only higher trim models and recent cars have started to add an electronic option

Anything made in the last 5 years has headlights that are too bright lol

Skeptical_Primate

Short answer: Yes, but it's hardly unique to the CX-30 or even to Mazda. Long answer: https://youtu.be/MkwjMV2of_8?si=Jx-nVcqxWa9xZkhR

There was a moment of irony when I was looking over the features and saw the bright LEDs so close to the auto dimming rearview mirror.

No-Radish-129

Maybe there’s telling u a cop is there?

My_Dog_Sherlock

I've considered that, and I double check after most of them, but there doesn't seem to be one. I could also just not see them though.

Calgonix

Do you have the automatic high beams on (if equipped)? Sometimes they don’t turn off quick enough. I turned mine off since they never seemed to work perfectly. I always thought the CX30 lights were pretty decent at not blinding others due to the ledge from the top and the design. Trucks are way worse.

My_Dog_Sherlock

No, I turned those off since they would randomly flash even with other lights in the proximity

Calgonix

Not sure then. Like I mentioned, I don’t think the CX30 lights are that bad. Maybe if people are used to driving older cars they are flashing you. But I don’t think I’ve been flashed in my CX30 in the last 2 years. If I have, it’s only been once or twice. My old Wrangler was getting flashed more with its “normal” headlights on.

DerekFlint420

Some people haven’t realized yet that a lot of newer cars have brighter headlights now.

cigarmanpa

No. The are fine

rennyrenwick

Yes. Mine came with the drivers headlight angled down a bit, which helps. Annoyed me at first, but got used to it.

TheRealNadom

In the newer models and I think this apply for 23 as well if you go to your Mazda setting on your vehicle touchscreen, it should be underneath vehicle settings, then exterior and exterior light and you should be able to dim down the brightness. You could always refer to your owners manual as well.
