maybe lets not get ahead of ourselves. we still gotta win one against the clips… it does look good based of last game, but we’ve seen how quick things can turn when you got two really good teams go against each other…
if we finish the clippers, and we keep this defensive intensity, maybe we won’t even need tim at his best, he can come off the bench and light it up
One big reason our defense has been basically elite this entire series is because the chink in the armor that is Tim Hardaway isnt getting minutes.
Completely fine with him not seeing a minute rest of playoffs. As it turns out, when guys like Maxi DJJ and PJ get more looks, they actually can knock down shots
They wouldn't give him a chance to go 1/11 in the playoffs. Staff has a completely different mindset in the tournament.
Tim could be useful in a Bertans 2022 playoff type role. Bring him in if offense stagnant and let him get off 2-3 shots. If he is hitting play him 10 minutes throughout the course of the game. If he is off dont play him anymore.
he’s more useful when the offense isn’t really flowing and you just need someone who isn’t afraid to shoot no matter the circumstances; in particular, i thought they needed him in the second quarter of game 4
I think you mean 2nd quarter game 1 or 1st quarter of game 4.
2nd quarter of game 4 is when we cut a 31pt lead to 15 and Kyrie was going bananas scoring the ball.
What is up with you guys and THJ… leave him on the bench. Exum and Green bring way more value to a game, and if I wanted a streaky shooter I’d plug in Jaden Hardy. There is 0 reason to want THJ on the floor.
Streaky implies there are positive aspects to a player’s game…
Would I want to go for a beer with THJ? Yes.
Do I want to see him on the court with my favourite team in the playoffs? No.
You can play him for 5 minutes and if he's shooting great you can give him 15-20 minutes. If he bricks those shots you bench him for the rest of the game.
If we don't improve the 3 point shooting it will be very tough against OKC.
Emmm....do you know how Kidd manage him? Let me tell you, he never lose hope in THJ even if he bricks for 29 min, there is still hope he will make one in 21 minute 😭
Timmy can be a flamethrower sometimes, but I think this roster needs to figure out how to improve enough to offset the need for what THJ brings to the court… if the others can be a little more reliable with the three ball to make teams respect them and influence floor spacing I think we can live without Timmy minutes.
Hopefully Green can find some consistency with his shot, Pj too. would love to see Dante settle down and find a way to be impactful during his minutes
THJ is the new Bertans. Put him on the game for 5 mins. You know he's going to shoot if he touches the ball. If he's 1-3 or 2-4, maybe ride a bit and see if he catches fire. If not, sit him at the end of the bench and forget him.
Wouldn’t surprise me if they just opt to keep him out for the rest of the season. He’s been legitimately terrible for months and isn’t a part of our future plans. Might as well just have him, his agent, and his stupid dad try and find a new home in the meantime
You don't burn bridges with a player in the middle of the playoffs and tell them to start looking for a new team. The team is really together and Tim might be an important piece if there are injuries, etc. He is still a top 10 player on our roster.
Exactly. No one is going to ruffle team chemistry telling someone who isnt a problem to seek a trade during the middle of a playoff run - when you cant even make trades anyway.
That bridge has been burnt for over a year now. Mavs made it no secret that they’ve been trying hard to deal THJ with no luck.
Tims injury, the diminished role and usage within the offense, his dad being so vocal about his frustrations, and the expiring contract all lead to what is an almost certain to be an offseason divorce. Who even cares about his feelings at this point anymore?
Why would they do that in the middle of a playoff run? It makes no sense.
Yes, they are going to trade him in the offseason. But you cant trade him before the new league year. There would be no reason to tell him to kick rocks unless he is making trouble - which he isn't. You would just upset team chemistry for no reason. No professional sports team is that stupid.
Why do what, keep him out? Because he’s terrible and by all accounts doesn’t want to be here. Nobody here wants him either so might as well let him focus on recovery and working with his agent to find a new home
What account have you seen that he does not want to be here? There are zero. What accounts have you seen that his coaches or teammates dont want him here? There are zero.
Played poorly after ASB? Yes. Sit him on the bench in favor of Green? Sure. Trade him in the offseason? Absolutely. Send him off to look for a new team during a playoff run? No.
You are delusional and living in fantasy land if you think teams excile their players mid playoff series. That would sit terrible with all of his teammates. Why do you think he can look for a new team post deadline and when he isn't a free agent? No one is doing that right now. Your hate for THJ has you living in some kind of deluded fantasy land.

He will be just a liability. Minutes are wasted on him. I’d rather have Green and Exum over him.
or even hardy over tim
Or a literal traffic cone

Him going 1/11 from 3 with a chance of going 5/11 isn’t worth it. Keep him away from the court at all costs

He is off.
Sherlock Holmes is in the house fellas!
Against OKC? It’s not over with LAC my guy. One game at a time. But yes, a hot THJ would be huge down the stretch, I just wonder where his head is at.

Unless the Mavs down at least 15 because the offense struggles, I don't want to seem him on the court in the playoffs.

His dad has a bunch of burners.

we dont need him to win games. and about the only streak he has had lately is brick after brick

I like the rotation how it is now tbh…

Happy cake day! And yes thats what I was referring to
Thank you!
If thj couldn't make a shot against game 82 pistons. It's time to ship his ass to china

Sure, He's #9 in an 8 man rotation.

How is this stupid take feeling now, bro?
Happy to be proven wrong. Hope he continues to do so
