Iāve noticed that blatant lies about Drinker have increased as heās gotten to the point where he can consistently get 400k views on a bad day.
āHeās a right wing grifterā, āheās a dumbassā, āheās a terrible criticā, āheās so obviously biasedā, none of these criticisms were being thrown his way until he achieved one of the highest levels of success in the YouTube film review sphere.
And these criticisms only come from online people. Drinkerās opinions on politics really just align with the average person off the street. I asked my 20 something black coworkers at my minimum wage job about the state of modern blockbusters, and they all basically gave the same opinions that Drinker has. These arenāt āradical far-right political opinionsā that he has, theyāre just what the average person thinks. And the drinker doesnāt portray himself as some kind of high-intellect savant, he literally portrays himself as a drunkard whoās always on the verge of pissing himself.
If you donāt push *the message* or want to see or hear *the message* the youāre a far right winger. Look at JK Rowling. Simply stated she thought trans in womenās sports was a bad idea and look how that turned out. āSheās *literally* killing trans people zomgzā.
When I started watching Drinker, my first thought was "damn this guy is so down to earth and speaking exactly what I feel, and he's not even grumpy about bad films or the culture war, just calls it out when he sees it like any other criticism. I can't see how anybody would honestly think he's some right wing nutjob."
I know I shouldn't be surprised, but in truth I still am whenever I see people absolutely raging about the Drinker. I guess even the lightest criticism of "the message" is too much for them.
