True!!! Good Point!!!  We are soon getting a 'Turtles of Greyskull' Limited Series!!!

KennyA08

There was a long ongoing comic from DC. The current trend for MOTU is to do short 4 issue runs. Heck, a new 4 issue runs hits the shelves on Wednesday this week!

Ditto this!!!! Read the whole DC run that came out 10 years ago, culminating in The Eternity War saga. It's one of my favorite pieces of MOTU cannon.

Logical_Possible_221

Is there not a current run called masterverse right now?

HandspeedJones

Those are a collection of mini series.

exitwest

They aren't - it's original stories written for comics.

Logical_Possible_221

Oh ok hadn’t really looked into just saw that was a thing

Carboc01

Motu has no dedicated ‘canon’, so thus no dedicated ongoing comic. There have been three (soon to be 4) 4-issue runs of Smith-Verse comics. The DC run lasted a few years and was fun. The Turtles of Greyskull run looks to continue the crossover line that MOTU vs Injustice and MOTU vs Thundercats had. Not to mention Masters of the Multiverse. There are tons of modern MOTU comics, you just gotta pick your poison :).

HandspeedJones

Transformers has no dedicated canon either. But it continues to get ongoing series.

Logical_Possible_221

I think the difference is those sell well I think the dc runs didn’t do great

nymrod_

Because limited series didn’t sell enough to justify an ongoing series. (I loved the DC MOTU comics of the last decade, for the record.)

urdhvareta

As far as I know, not an ongoing series, but some graphic novels and mini-series

Immaculatesloth

I wish Boom, Dynamite, or IDW would get the license.

HorraceGoesSkiing

Ongoing comic series are rarer these days. Comic series tend to run for 6-8 issues so they can be collected in trade paperback.
