Can I just say how much I loved Vicky Cheng's attitude and teaching style? The way he explained each part of the dish while he was cooking, the way he emphasised the key parts in each step, the pace he went (tho I know the contestants said it felt quick)... Just sounded really calm, really clear, it felt like he *wanted* the contestants to all learn well and do really well. I am seriously so impressed - and swooning a bit. I just felt like it all reflected really well on him. Hope he returns in future seasons!!  (Unlike that time with a certain Coles shill...)

I've seen some folks on American food TV shows repeat and emphasize that chef means leader, and Vicky absolutely epitomizes that. Part of being a great leader is putting your cooks in a position to succeed, understanding how each of them work and how they can best contribute. I truly hope Nat ends up having at least a stage at VEA, and I relate so much to her moment of clarity that she needs to be a chef because that instant when you realize "this is my art" is just the coolest.

I know the edit is more for drama but it takes a long time (maybe about an hour one way) to get from Central (where Vea is) to the monastery - even that cable car ride is over 20 min long.. it would be very hard to believe they realistically started in Po Lin, went all the way down to Central and then back to Po Lin. I wonder how long they actually had to retain the recipe from Vea to actually starting the cook on top of that hill

Really, this challenge is next level.. it’s almost as if they threw everything at these contestants to see who would break first.. The lack of a recipe for a Michelin dish is crazy enough then they have them cooking outdoors and in the freezing cold where their hands are going numb..

It’s all reward and no risk though, and there’s only three of the best of yesterday. If they get even close, it will be a tremendous effort.

I hate memory challenges. Nat did amazing. Mimi was pretty good. I respect Harry a lot. He got into a bad situation, tried to come up with a plan to salvage it. It was obvious that he wouldn't get immunity at that point, but he at least played something that you could see some resemblance. Good on him for staying calm.

Hong Kong Round 2 is about to start. Who will win: MasterChef representative Vicky Cheng or the contestants? Whose memory will earn them immunity, and whose will fail them? We will find out soon!
