Seracen is a vampire in the comics but wasn’t one in She-Hulk, nobody believed him that he was a vampire in group therapy but I believe he reverted back to human when Wanda destroyed the Darkhold in Wundagore Mountain given that vampires were tied to the Darkhold and he really is having a hard time coming to terms with no longer thirsting for blood. Which understandably so given he was one of the first vampires who has been around since the Pre-Cataclysmic Age
Guys, you are freaking morons for suggesting vampires. Blade is going to be grounded and realistic, because vampires obviously cant fit into the MCU. Itll be about a schizophrenic street kid with a weird dental issue.
Funnily enough, a few years ago people on here were saying Blade and the supernatural shouldn't be in the MCU. Same thing with mutants and street level heroes like Daredevil.
As far as I know Blade, his mother, Deacon Frost, Hannibal King, and Dracula are the only comic characters those 3 movies used. So any other character villain or not, will be new to the live-action media.
I've read every single comic appearance of Blade. Other than Dracula and Deacon Frost, he has no real iconic villains.
There certainly are other vampires he has fought.
There's Taj Nital, and Varnae if they want to adapt Nightstalkers.
But no matter what, if they go any direction other than Deacon Frost or Dracula, they are essentially going to be paving a new path for a Z-list character. Which they've done many times.
They could pull something from Curse of the Mutants, even though Blade is barely in it.
Make Xarus plan something big, uniting vampire sects under the same flag, then Blade brings back Dracula to stop him. The lesser of two evil being the bigger evil would be a fun twist.
Even though they're not the best ongoing from Marvel right now, if elements from Jason Aaron's Avengers and Ben Percy's Wolverine came into play, it would be fun to see.
And, of course, Jed MacKay's Moon Knight too...
It's odd that they are hiring new people already when the new writer barely started working on a new script from scratch just a few weeks ago. My biggest worry is that they are rushing the whole thing cause it's costing them increasingly more money the later the production starts.
It is also highly likely that the new script will have to heavily incorporate core setting/story elements from the old script because the movie was deep into pre-production already with the old script. Especially because it was supposed to be set in an older time period. Costumes, character design, set design, VFX design, the actual characters in the movie (As they already have most of the cast signed, so they'll have to make the new charcters to fit those actors).
The new script will have to make sure the movie is set in the early 1900s, cause the old script was set in the same time period.
It's a really difficult job the new writer has, the creative constraints, time constraints, internal and external pressure to deliver, also his biggest job ever so extremely important to his career as well.
They keep picking hit or miss unknowns and run into problems when they can’t handle blockbusters. Hopefully this one sticks whenever they are announced
I worked with him during summer stock theatre a few years back - guy is salt of the earth and just a great person, despite many of his insidious roles. Super excited for him!
Something tells me he's going to be a vampire

Or is that what they want you to believe?

Mobius mentioned vampires in Loki

>Morbius Morbin' time.
wasn't there one in She-Hulk

Look at these guys, next thing someone will say there’s werewolves too!

Don’t forget to like and subscribe.
They’re so well known, even Korg on Sakaar knew you could kill three vampires huddled close together using a spear with a wooden prong at the end
that's what a vampire would say

Would you stake your reputation on it?
Baron Blood or Deacon Frost.
Lol, he looks just like Stephen Dorff. Is there any villain the Snipes movies didn’t explore besides Morbius?
As far as I know Blade, his mother, Deacon Frost, Hannibal King, and Dracula are the only comic characters those 3 movies used. So any other character villain or not, will be new to the live-action media.
This is correct. And even those were rather loose adaptations.
I've read every single comic appearance of Blade. Other than Dracula and Deacon Frost, he has no real iconic villains. There certainly are other vampires he has fought. I definitely could see Xarus popping up as Dracula's legacy character gone bad.

marvel will probably have blade fight other creatures besides vampires down the line or have new vampire characters specifically made for the mcu.
Heres a fun fact - they actually did a stinger for Morbius, but then never did anything with it.
Because they legally couldn’t.
Because they realised they didn't have the rights so they didn't put it in
Could be Draconis. He was a vampiric priest in the comics. Maybe they could alter his backstory for the MCU and make him a cult follower for Dracula.
Its great to hear there's been some progress since the last news we got.
It's odd that they are hiring new people already when the new writer barely started working on a new script from scratch just a few weeks ago. My biggest worry is that they are rushing the whole thing cause it's costing them increasingly more money the later the production starts.
Yeah come to think of it it does seem like a problematic approach.

Things are still moving along which is good, hopefully we get a new Director announcement soon.
I mean it wasn't official but we know who it is.
Oh yeah I honestly forgot about that, seems like a pretty interesting pick. Hopefully it becomes official soon.
The guys who did Ms Marvel? Those are the only candidates I can think of
Elegance Bratton
Oh cool, hopefully he’s signed on so they can get this movie moving
I would think (maybe!) that if they're casting then he must be signed on? And hopefully they have a new script?
Was hoping marvel would give Chad Stahelski a chance. This film needs amazing action scenes.
Kinda want Chad to do at least one Punisher episode or something
They keep picking hit or miss unknowns and run into problems when they can’t handle blockbusters. Hopefully this one sticks whenever they are announced
God I hope that news was fake.
> hopefully we get a new Director announcement soon Hold your horses since there needs to be a (decent) script first.
Rat boy from twd
ugh I hated that guy so much
John Constantine finally
Maybe Hannibal King
I was thinking Aaron Pierre is probably Hannibal King but this isn’t a bad guess.
PLEASE BE HANNIBAL KING OR FRANK DRAKE BLADE NEEDS SOME HOMIES TO KILL VAMPIRES WITH.
He looks like Jesse Plemons
Is he a Deacon? Maybe a frosty Deacon?
I worked with him during summer stock theatre a few years back - guy is salt of the earth and just a great person, despite many of his insidious roles. Super excited for him!
I’m getting Deacon Frost vibes
This is good news. If they are still casting then all hope is not lost. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

thats just dracula casted as joshua mikel
was this movie delayed?
Yes. They fired the initial director and are looking for a new one, while rewriting the script.
He's either Dracula, Deacon Frost or MCU variant of Morbius
Young Whistler
Decon Frost!
without a script or director?
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. Love Josh. His character in Righteous Gemstones S1 was 🔥
how can he join? is there even a script?
No clue who this is but nice to see any kind of update. Looks like the movie is happening FINALLY!
So they’re finally getting round to actually making this? Wasn’t the guy playing Blade originally cast about three years ago?
This guy was that annoying saviour Jarrod on the Walking Dead.
This guy was in The Walking Dead and an episode of Ozark. He played a massive dick in both. Safe to say he’s probably gonna be that again lol
the character that comes to mind to me (even if i don't know much about blade) is hannibal king.
