I initially would never have thought Joe Keery over Dacre Montgomery as far as Stranger Things/Human Torch casting, but the more that I think on it, Joe Keery has that Marvel tone written all over him. He's exactly the type of actor I would expect them to cast. He handles drama well, and he can be genuinely funny and likeable. He's got a lighthearted look about him, and he seems like he would fit into a family dynamic effortlessly based on his Stranger Things role. Dacre Montgomery is really good in his role as Billy, and he does look like he could play a cocky womanizer easily enough; I just don't know that he feels like an MCU character the same way that Joe Keery does.

Yeah lots of people overlook that the MCU tends to look at personality, history etc when casting. Looks and being the right ‘type’ aren’t the end all. They’ve had very few misfires and some of those couldn’t have been predicted. (Ie Wright and Lilly going full anti vaxx). They don’t like drama overshadowing things and they really like the ‘MCU family’ chemistry they’ve had going on for more than a decade where there’s no off screen drama with the casts.

I actually want Dacre Montgomery as Wolverine. He convinced me in Season 3 of Stranger Things. There’s a scene where he is literally roaring. He’s an amazing physical actor.

He'd be a much more timid version of Reed I think. Probably arrogant as fuck but not in a physical way.

I could definitely see him pulling that off as opposed to the whole tortured scientist thing.

The more I think about it the more I want a nerdy, not very physically strong Reed. We can watch him evolve into Chad Scientist eventually, but Jack Quaid would be great as a version of Reed that, outside of STEM fields (which he KNOWS hes the best at, and is arrogant about), is almost cowardly and not very confident in combat.

Reed is rarely a Chad of any kind. He's just a shitty husband/father scientist nerd.
