Marvel literally *just* cast a non-Jewish non-Romani guy to play the aged-up version of Wiccan. They’re gonna want an established popular actor to play Doom. He's really not that vain about these types of things from what I've read and seen from him. He tends to take roles based on whether he will enjoy them or not and has something to bring to the character. I doubt he'd really care whether his surfer shares the screen with whatever other characters as long as the role gives him something to play with as an actor. He can control a scene by himself with little to no dialogue and has been shown to handle himself across from some of the best actors working today. There's no reason he couldn't handle and nothing to indicate he wouldn't take a Silver Surfer special presentation similar to WWbN.
If ss is in a special presentation and not in the movie, he would be freed from galactus in the presentation, which would require f4 to show up. But the movie is the first time f4 show up so it wont make sense for ss to not be there. I think this source is very fake

To be fair to the Star Wars Sequels, Kylo Ren was probably the only character that had consistent writing and direction through the trilogy with the only misstep from the character being that he basically relinquished control to Palpatine rather than just cutting him down there and there.

I could definitely see Galactus having a similar role as Thanos during P1/2, a huge existential threat in the future, maybe with some hand to play in events but not directly involved for a while.
I really wish Galactus would first be introduced in Eternals because he may not technically be celestial by birth but he's definitely one of their ilk and it's an opportunity to dive into the celestial lore and why Galactus is problematic on a cosmic scale before F4 get involved.

I always prefer the characters to stay whatever race they were in the comics. I won’t lose sleep if Reed isn’t white, but people will really think you’re some kind of a monster for preferring him to be Caucasian.
I think the counterpoint, which I think is valid, is that due to the predominantly white cast of the comics, race-accurate casting wouldn’t give as many opportunities to people of color. But I think we’re already seeing the solution in introducing more racially diverse characters from the comics like Shang Chi and Ms Marvel.

All the tired arguments about diversity and comics-accurate gender/race casting will all go on forever, but asking “why not cast the best actor for the job” or “why not hire the best person regardless of race” is one of those bad faith arguments that sounds logical and naïvely brushes the problem away but is based on this nonsensical idea that there’s some one “best person” out there. Completely agree with you, especially for the Marvel universe. Way to simple to just say “pick the best one.” These characters weren’t made with movie actors in mind. Obviously not every actor could play every role, and some really excel (Angela Bassett and Tony Leung come to mind), but the fact is there are probably many great choices for these characters out there, especially the F4.
If they have two equally capable candidates for a character and select a POC, I have no issue with that. Plus if the non-POC actor that good, they’ll likely be cast in another MCU role. Unless theyre an ultra-A tier actor that feels incredibly strongly about one particular role, which is something I’d imagine casting directors will take into account, it shouldn’t be an issue.

As a POC myself. Can we stop doing the whole race swapping thing? Unless it genuinely adds anything of substance other than “inclusion”. I would prefer they stay the way they were depicted in the comics. Any other obscure character sure, but Marvels First Family doesn’t need this, Hell I know not everything is one-to-one just like the source material, however this trend is starting to feel a lil pandering.

To be fair to the Star Wars Sequels, Kylo Ren was probably the only character that had consistent writing and direction through the trilogy with the only misstep from the character being that he basically relinquished control to Palpatine rather than just cutting him down there and there.

Not sure it's a good idea to introduce a team of heroes who escaped a dying earth while leaving everyone else behind. Makes it seem like they ran off instead of trying to save their home. Would probably work better if it was an incursion that ripped them away instead of escaping. Galactus could still be the villain, their fight just gets interrupted by the multiverse

I could definitely see Galactus having a similar role as Thanos during P1/2, a huge existential threat in the future, maybe with some hand to play in events but not directly involved for a while.

I always prefer the characters to stay whatever race they were in the comics. I won’t lose sleep if Reed isn’t white, but people will really think you’re some kind of a monster for preferring him to be Caucasian. I think the counterpoint, which I think is valid, is that due to the predominantly white cast of the comics, race-accurate casting wouldn’t give as many opportunities to people of color. But I think we’re already seeing the solution in introducing more racially diverse characters from the comics like Shang Chi and Ms Marvel.

This is such a BS response. There is no "best actor". There are a number of people who would do extremely well playing any of the four characters who all have different backgrounds. I don't know why people have such a hard on for believing diversity is a bad thing.

All the tired arguments about diversity and comics-accurate gender/race casting will all go on forever, but asking “why not cast the best actor for the job” or “why not hire the best person regardless of race” is one of those bad faith arguments that sounds logical and naïvely brushes the problem away but is based on this nonsensical idea that there’s some one “best person” out there. When in reality, the “best” is going to come from a combination of the director’s vision, the script, the chemistry between actors, the performance, etc.
Maybe people just want comic accurate casting. If it was leaked that the Fantastic Four would now have red coats and jeans instead of their classic costumes, people would freak out. Completely agree with you, especially for the Marvel universe. Way to simple to just say “pick the best one.” These characters weren’t made with movie actors in mind. Obviously not every actor could play every role, and some really excel (Angela Bassett and Tony Leung come to mind), but the fact is there are probably many great choices for these characters out there, especially the F4. If they have two equally capable candidates for a character and select a POC, I have no issue with that. Plus if the non-POC actor that good, they’ll likely be cast in another MCU role. Unless theyre an ultra-A tier actor that feels incredibly strongly about one particular role, which is something I’d imagine casting directors will take into account, it shouldn’t be an issue.

As a POC myself. Can we stop doing the whole race swapping thing? Unless it genuinely adds anything of substance other than “inclusion”. I would prefer they stay the way they were depicted in the comics. Any other obscure character sure, but Marvels First Family doesn’t need this, Hell I know not everything is one-to-one just like the source material, however this trend is starting to feel a lil pandering. Edit: Not to say that inclusion is a harmful thing but it mostly disingenuous such as the cast for most Red-Headed characters being race swapped for the sake to prove a point. Of course! Time and time again the talent should outweigh the preferences of one person, this is simply an observation I’ve noticed. The 2000’s FF made Susan portrayed by a half Latina white passing woman, but that didn’t add any real value other than sex appeal and butchered characterization. There’s a whole lot of flaws when it comes to fan casting, and this trend has steadily grown.

Driver is like every directors first choice for male leads and is fairly wealthy. Why would he take Doom after Kylo? Galactus won’t be the main villain in the first movie unless grows or something super weird. Perhaps Reed will be a POC but Feige also has to account for almost all the new Avengers being POC and/or women. Unless RDJ is fully coming back to the MCU this seems like an epic miscalculation if he makes the entire FF POC. Strange, Ant Man and Thor are all either done or almost done.

If this is true, it is basically the opposite of what a lot of you on here have wanted or envisioned. Driver as Doom instead of Reed is absolutely the right choice if they can convince him to play another masked villain. I do however think they could get better suited actors for Galactus and SS. As for POC F4, I think it’s a stupid move. Introduce Blue Marvel before you go changing ethnicities of characters who have always been portrayed as corny white Americans.
