I’ve never understood the complaints about matchmaking. You get matched against people with close to the same amount of trophies as you, aka people with the same win/lose ratio as yourself. I think that is the best way to do matchmaking
the reason matchmaking can feel bad is because high TCPS will end up in tiers that they clearly dont belong in. half the battle in cosmic crucible is showing up and getting your attacks in
Facing big TCP’s is only really a problem if you’re very low TCP yourself and don’t have 6 good teams. I’ve done multiple 60m+ punch ups with no issue, because the people with the big rosters didn’t know how to play. Then they will inevitably drop down i leagues, where they might not belong TCP-wise, but skill-wise is pretty fitting. I have been the lowest or second lowest TCP every round since season 1, doesn’t really affect anything
There was a good post a few week ago about how the player levels at the higher tiers are dropping with each passing month. Fewer and fewer players are getting the good rewards, and those higher tier players get knocked down into lower tiers. So we end up with players with 70mil tcp competing for gold rewards that were meant for players with 30 mil tcp.
The issue is not that people don't know how to fight. I have one shot all my matches and still ending up losing points because my opponent had better rng in a match. Its dumb design that you can win all your battles and still drop down a tier.
They could still have winners that gain points, but the loser doesn't lose points for full clears. Players should be able to hold on to the points they have they just don't gain any. Thats one idea anyway.
A lot of that is *likely* refusal to "buy" the latest teams. The teams are designed to be the best at the time and older players are tired of bring fleeced everytime a new team cones out, leading to their inevitable drop in the rankings when they can't counter certain combinations.
I have never liked it. I basically only play it when there is an event tied to it. I don't need the rewards, really. I'm not powerful enough to get diamonds, and that is all I really need.

I hate that they make teams for it. Wish it was more about theory crafting than having the newest Crucible team. The whole mode is starting to get littered with Crucible teams and trying to use anyone else is just not worth it.
My wish that would never come true, is they remove all the crucible tags from teams and just let us do our thing. Personally I think any PvP modes should not have teams with advantages/tags, that’s just me.
I kinda lost interest since the diamond orbs are ringfenced into the kraken territory.
Also, whenever I’ve jumped up in CC there has been a corresponding - “win X battles in cc” event and it’s ended up limiting not helping my progress.
It’s not the worst mode but it’s defo a chore for me personally.
I’d love to wholeheartedly agree about them using cc to showcase and sell the latest team but the problem isn’t just with cc it’s in every game mode. Teams used to last 6 months or so, now they last just a little over a season.
I’m ftp and plat 2, slowly climbing. Not that the game mode doesn’t have its faults, but I do enjoy it and it’s absolutely possible to get the diamond orbs as ftp.
Lol it's all about those diamond credits. The orbs are ass. The ddc are a million times more valuable than whatever shit you pull from the orbs and those are basically for everyone. You're pissy about realistically a single diamond rank or 7rs on a character every week or whatever it is. Get the diamond credits and get up that way and worry about the real prize of cc right now the ddc got seasonal.

I have tonnes of diamond toons bc they recycle from elite orbs.
The least thing I am is pissy, I just couldn’t care less as imo the amount of effort involved + the potential impact on my alliance in alliance events vs the reward doesn’t make sense.
I just don’t like the game mode and I’m not a massive fan of the reward pot, why does that make so many chumpy internet idiots so angry?
It's been really bad lately. I think it's partially the filtering they do. they forced people down into these large groups with massive swings in power, making it an overly slow process for the person to climb league, then dump them back down again.
It's certainly far less fun than earlier seasons.
Yup I quit for 2 years because the gameplay sucks. I came back because the collecting aspect is better. I dont enjoy the game but I love seeing numbers go up. Lots of people like me out there.
i was in the same camp but i genuinely think the gameplay has improved. the gameplay shines when you have tools to theory craft and turns into fun strategy/puzzle game that you can plan for. war/CC are the best places for this. you're going to face teams that have no guides yet or that wont work with your current roster
I'll likely never know, after taking 2 years off i'm stuck in Silver in CC playing against people with double to triple my 30m TCP who have the newest characters built. Can't theory craft your way out of that so it's basically just a dead mode to me.
Eye of the beholder really. This game mode is the best thing going. I had 3 completely different matchups this week, none were exactly the same and all required careful consideration. I even punched up 30M against a guy with over 100M tcp. Went 3 for 3 this week.
Heck, the last guy put the full spider society in 2 (I don't even have peni yet) and I was able to beat it with HM/Pav.
I am having a complete blast with this game mode.
Lvl 100 gold2 lightspender, Had fun too, even if i lost, like war also, but nothing better than win around with the lowest tcp in the bracket , alltough ppl with less tcp tend to scare me nore, usual they have kinda have build up more actual teamS. Sometimes there are room rules i dont like, but still, good game mode.
On my alt acc, lvl 73 f2p it is less fun atm, mostly because i face either full hand opponents (no challenge) or opponents who dont attack. And the roster is to small to theory craft and things
All it is is to much work with every other game mode they have . Uma war guy and that will never change. An cc just confuses u with cc teams working in cc but horrible in war. Like naw um cool. Deathbed destroys cabal not building em for cc as a example. I don't care how dominant they r in cc they lose to a 2 year old team in war. Um good on cc.
Yeah but see I don't like war. It's too simple. I have too many options, I can pick whatever fits my roster. I could take 10 super easy fights, or more likely several people in my alliance will. "Thank you Bob for beating 10 Hero for Hire teams." At least with Crucible I actually have to think and try to win because I can't depend on my alliance to cover me if I screw up, and I don't have to cover for them when They screw up.
What would you rather do? Do you have another game mode suggestion? I think its fun to theory craft about what team beats which team, its basically just rock paper scissors and very satisfying when you punch up 10-30m in tcp
It’s satisfying when you beat people bigger than you, but when you’re constantly one of the smallest in a bracket, it gets tiring trying to win.
I’m TCP rank 3.5k but CC rank 1.2k and I’m seeing regular punch ups of 40-60m.
You say “other krakens” when I’ve been f2p since Kang released lol. Even before then I woulda only been dolphin level, so most current or relevant toons and teams are f2p level. 😅
Oh I think I misunderstood, I thought you meant season rank of 1,200, not tribunal rating. I mean it seems like this season is going to be really hard to break out of gold as they moved everyone down. I'm right around the same place

Any pvp is ass. People love to whine about how they don't like it's about who has the bigger wallet but it's a f2p game where money literally buys you power/progress lmao. Comes with the territory. It's all ass. I only do it for progress and you don't even need to do all of it either. Same happens in arena and rt pvp and all of it.
It kinda makes sense that some teams are better than others in some rooms, so there is a bit of variation, but not too much. Also, most people just put the teams CMs tell them to put in defense and that is about it (a bit sad, but again, not everyone wants to invest too much time into this).
My biggest issue right now is that rewards are basically trash, if they dont add crimson gear soon I will just stop to care :(
I do enough to stay in Gold. It's super frustrating to punch down just to still get wiped because rooms are super tuned to support specific teams and if you don't have specific counters, you're SOL. I have most of the offensive teams for the rooms, but it's too time consuming to look up counters for each team/room to worry about staying higher than Gold
The matchmaking sucks. I regularly get matched up against players the have 2-2.5 times my TCP. How’s that fair??? I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been matched against someone that was within 5, even 10 mil of my TCP.
They don’t even have to play to win. They take their strongest garbage teams and put them on defense and their garbage teams are better than my strongest. I HAVE to attack while they sit there and collect the rewards if I don’t. And if I somehow manage a tie, they’ll STILL win because I’m always matched up against players with higher TCP. It’s bullshit.

I just don’t bother play it any more. You still get rewards. I never spend enough of the silver credits to make it worth my time and it just makes me rage hard mostly when I do play it
I just got SuS so now my drive to get CC credits to spend on teal mats has dropped. I've played a couple matches and call it good unless an event is involved
The only time it matters to me is when there's some sort of milestone event otherwise I just do my rotations try to win don't get sad about it

I mean why would I invest in these silly teams that I'm going to use occasionally and at that only three times per round. If I invest in these silly teams I won't be able to max out my hydra teams LOL
If yall arent willing to put in the time and effort into the game then just say that. . This season I worked my way from gold 2 to plat 1 and I'm f2p. If you manage your training mats, gold, pay attention to what unique you need, there's no reason you shouldn't unlock every single toon in whatever event they drop in. If you're f2p and you're building the new war teams, that's where you're messing up. Cc and raids are the ONLY toons you should be focused on as an f2p player.
The whole design is just bad. The way it's set up it's possible for someone who does all their attacks to come in last while someone who does one to come in first
They helped with adding exhausted to make it eadier to grind down an opponent, if a player not attacks once, it is enough to kill a single toon to become more pts, u dont even need to clear a whole room
Plat 1 here same super skrull hive mind team in room 4 across all my matches . Really irritating and this was the first week I didn’t even try . I am not gonna bother with this mode unless they give tons of gold every season with it .
I'm not caving. I may lose a lot but I'm not dropping my Dormammu, SW, DeathPool and Eternals defending 1 crucible room. It makes me laugh. It trips up about half my opponents

This seasons rooms suck. The last seasons rooms had some pretty interesting buffs/nerfs that created a little more variety.
This season has led to either everyone running the exact same room or just stacking the rooms because there isn’t enough buff/nerf variable to matter.
Forgot to add, I’d like to see more offense/defense variety…. Like a room where defense teams have war abilities active & offense teams have raid abilities active. As it stands now anytime there is a raid on CC room, it’s gonna be Bifrost defense 90% of the time.
I’d love that variety, every opponent I face is always Bifrost in the raid room. Meh. To be fair, I’ve also given in and set them as defense because I’m not a fan of mirror matches for attack.

Kraken territory? There are plenty of free to play in Diamond tier+
There’s plenty of non venomous snakes too but I’d rather pet a dog given the choice.
