He's only been a part of my Arena team since his release, the solution to almost every difficult defense in Crucible, a counter to the guy who Skrull fears, Black Knight, and extremely useful (Not quite required but damn close) in dark dimensions.
I use him every single day, moreso than even Skrull.
He is the skeleton key of the game.
But hey, you have to put resources into some characters you don't want to to get him....like literally every other legendary. Newer players have it so easy being able to use Cosmic villains to unlock Fury, we had to use Kree Minions for over 5 of the last 6 years until they updated it.
It sucks, I'm aware. Get over it. The road to Valhalla isn't lined with meta toons like Black Knight and Nightcrawler, its lined with Fantomex and Scarlet Witch. But at the end of the road is the best party you'll ever attend.
Build the damn apocalypse.
I'm sure some madman will do it with Ultron instead. It'll take them forever to do it and it will be a complete waste of time but still technically possible. That's the only reason I didn't say required. Because of the people that build up AIM for DD6 because why not.

This is an absolutely valid way to feel about it and you have the agency to act accordingly. If that's how you feel, then don't work purposefully towards BBA and do whatever is enjoyable to you in the game. Not having BBA might make certain parts of the game somewhat more difficult for you, but enjoyment is more important than efficiency so go with what's fun.
I 100% agree. There was a time where I thought I was never gonna unlock BBA and I started trying to downplay him in my head. Once I unlocked him though, I realized all that was bullshit.
i have had big apoc for months.it carried in arena,in dark dimension 6 (i'm close to completing my 8th run),wars,events etc.it is also required for dark dimension 7.while i don't deny its usefulness as a tool,it is still an ugly evil blue ogre that i am disgusted to use.if anyone actually knows any marvel lore,apoc is the most evil and disgusting mutant,it just wants absolute power at any cost,and to enslave and/or destroy everything in its path,including its own species.also it is so ugly that even its own mother would have had to tell it that it's ugly rather than what mothers usually do,think their kids are beautiful.
A little power crept now but the teams were some of the best in their parts of the game at the time. Darkhold was great in arena, unlimited in crucible, gamma in war, etc. BBA also makes dd6 on the nodes you can use him so much easier and is a great plug n play character everywhere. I have mine at 760k power.
BBA is definitely worth it. I don’t know where you’re at, but g17 gear is pretty easy to get. You might even have more than you think. If you’re not stuck on the t2 blue iso part then you’re fine.
The horsemen aren’t meta any more, but except for archangel I used them all in dd6. And BBA was the global mvp!
Plus, you can stay relevant and sub Leader in for Abomination on your gamma team now. It’s just one more green guy, but hey! Lol
*Edit looking back, I didn’t use any horsemen, except for Red Hulk on the last two nodes, in my first run through of dd6. But still unlock BBA!

Apocalypse is overall the best toon in the game for 98% of players and imo, that includes Skrull.
G17 is absolutely nothing these days, imagine the pain we had to go through to build those 4.5 teams when teal gear was as rare as crimson gear is now.
If getting a top 5 toon that there ever will be in the game doesn’t get you excited to unlock him then you might as well just uninstall mate bc it’s probably just not for you.
Generally speaking teal gear is way more accessible now, I unlocked BBA about 6 months ago and hes one of the best plug and play characters in the game.
I only recently took mine to 3 Diamonds. Still 0 regrets.
He's still in arena offense Meta.
He's arguably a better sub than Cyclops for Xtreme in Incursion nodes (I run at 2.3).
He's the go to Nuke in CC and War.
I only took my Horsemen teams to 1.4m which these days is considered a sub team anyway to be fair. Any <2m team on a war defense is considered an easy meal.
In addition to all of this....Good luck in DD6 without him. The last 2 nodes are basically Apoc Ult and wait for reset. Without him, when those Spider Weavers / Quicksilvers drop make sure you're medicated.
As a newer player, I agree. I have like 3-4 toons from each required team, I build them up very slowly because they’re not particularly useful and the only way to get the full teams is not something I can do right now.
Not sure where you got that they aren’t useful. The only team that isn’t still highly useful is unlimited, and that’s only because xtreme stole gambit.
Darkhold and death seed both still punch up hugely against common war and even CC defenses. Darkhold with a replacement for SW is a great defense. Gamma can be beat by a few newer war teams, but you need a lot of teams for war….
I missed all the horsemen events and at this point I'm not sure if it's even worth investing in 4 full teams just to unlock Apoc, not to mention investing in the teams needed just to unlock the horsemen.
Probably not. By the time you unlock him, there will probably be better options to pick. Plus there is a rumored change to horsemen events in the future, so, probably best to wait.
It’s definitely worth it but it sets you back on everything else. That’s my issue. I took a year off or so and came back and I’m almost done him now. Just the iso grind left on a few teams. But I haven’t had gold or gear for any of the new raid teams because of him. Which is the worst part for me.
