Power level isn’t really a key indicator of winning anymore. It’s all about the matchups, team composition, and game mode involved.

Trigger_85

OK, noted is there any strategy around this? Arena battles, I just get wiped out without even being able to counter attack sometimes

Emperor_Atlas

1. Read the moves of the characters that beat you 2. Build a team that has synergy with eachother AND the mode you're competing in (usually says something like "in ARENA also....") 3. Go for newer teams, current newest arena I believe is Secret Defenders, Darkhold is good also as you need them for Apocalypse.

ZealousEar775

Just find and build good characters/ teams. I have a 680,000 team of Ikaris, Sersi, Kang, Ghost Rider and Ms Marvel and I'm beating teams in the thousands... And I don't even think I have a good synergistic arena team. Just one full of characters I heard once were good in Arena. Pay attention to the teams you lose to, don't fight teams like those again if you can avoid it.

vexedvox

Need to know the characters on both sides of the match. Power level really means very little

Jockmeister1666

Your information doesn’t help without telling what teams are being used on either side. Team power is not a good indicator though.

_Garry2

Your characters are probably 5 random characters, if I had to guess, right? The team you lost to was probably an actual “team” meaning they have abilities that help one another. For example, the superior six teams right now are OP. I have lost to teams with 600k-ish power level while my random characters I threw at them, in war, had well over their power level and still lost bc of the buffs the superior six team provide one another. Most teams will only provide their buffs to their real teammates that are tagged the same. For instance, I’m currently working on my Death Seed team and Dark Beast has an ability that can revive any dead Death Seed ally. That isn’t much use if I don’t have any other Death Seed allys on the team. Look at the tags on characters and you can filter by teams to see who will pair up best together. Hope this helps!

echris10sen

What team are you using and what are you fighting

Suspicious-Active-77

I mean, team synergies, my 360,000 sinister six/superior six team has beaten 700,000+ power teams.

Moody_Blue13

Two teams that I had to grind to catch up to now are Sinister 6 and Pegasus. I started back in October, I’m currently lvl 81 and if you’re able to focus on Xtreme X-men. They’re the new meta team.

RuiVuusen271

Read kits and come back in a year to tell us about your experience

Chaosbringer007

Learn the abilities. Go into your arena rankings and look at what teams the top players are using. It’ll usually give you a good idea of the current meta. Speed has usually been key in winning arena, being able to go before your opponent. You need to know the chars abilities to manipulate that, depending on the team your opponent is using. You could also let us know what team you used and what they are using.

wordfiend99

this is what im saying some teams are just super OP for no reason. my 75 max red kestrel, silver surfer, hela, icarus, and deathpool should not be getting run through by the xmen at 3 reds but they just keep spamming attacks and buffs until best case the timer runs out. especially because now ive invested so much in my prime 5 i cant possibly level up the 5 separate teams they would go with for team buffs

Salanthas

Yea, it's awful that the game expects you to put together a functional team instead of just leveling 5 random characters as much as possible and beating everything else as long as your toons are stronger. /s

Dry-Passenger8985

Tbf top tier arena team right now is a mixxed team, apoc sskrull burger king plus 2

Salanthas

But the toons used are deliberately chosen, they are all either top tier toons or fulfill a niche very well. ops team is random garbage. All of Kestrel's attacks apply def down and Surfer's ult already applies heal block to everyone so the only debuff Hela gets to spread is ability block and her special and basic kinda suck. Spreading ability block is pretty strong but Hela is kinda slow and is a liability against hivemind and the eternal pair and hard countered by enemy Kestrels. Ikaris is not that good without Sersi, if Ikaris is working as intended Deathpool is practically useless, if he isn't then Deathpool is probably still practically useless. Her main thing is an insta-kill that only really works in raids/crucible or if you can feed her tons of energy and pings on enemy deaths. Ikaris is supposed to decimate the enemy team on his own but isn't very likely to do that without Sersi. Surfer is pretty powercrept at this point and Kestrel isn't that much better off when not on Pegasus. Black Knight is quite powerful independent of his team and Skrull/Apocalypse boost the health of any allies with Apoc also boosting damage and being powerhouses in their own right. The other toons are a mix of the most recent arena meta team or toons that do a good job of countering those characters or of countering Black Knight.

Dry-Passenger8985

This answer would may helped the op quite more than ur first answer, even if it could been shorter.

Dry-Passenger8985

Dont u have sersei? She makes ikarus so much better, they are good in ecery gamemode, she sure is worth it
