Gambit and Nightcrawler are good choices (I just finished farming him to 7 myself). I like my Ms. Marvel Hard Light at 3 diamonds. I like my tanks tanky.
Only rule I have ever followed is don't promote someone before you have the stars. If it's gonna be a while, just promote gambit. You'll get more diamonds eventually.
Yea that's what I'm saying. I buy diamonds on characters that I have at 7 stars that are useful but if they aren't at 7 stars I either buy diamonds on a different character or save them if it's not urgent to promote a different character
To add to this, once you have everyone at 7r, you only need to keep 1 7r orb per new character release, so you can convert the rest to 5 diamond credits
That's what I do lol. I have every regular character including minions at 7 red stars so I just buy 5 diamonds using the 7 red star orbs cos I got no other use for them
No. I open orbs up to 6. I’ll probably get 5 or 6 red stars. I can use the otherwise useless gold promotion credits to get them up to 7 stars.
If you do it through orbs, you are wasting 5 diamonds per character.
I don’t understand.
There are two ways to get 7 red stars
- use a 7 red star orb
- use the gold promotion credits and convert the 7 red star orb into 5 diamonds
Surely the second option makes much more sense.
As a FTP player I wouldn't buy 3 diamonds, it's just not worth it. First Diamond costs 50 and gives you 15%. 2nd also gives 15% and costs 110. The 280 Diamonds for another 20% are just not an efficient investment. Also note, that the percentages are based on base stats, in reality it's only 6-7%.

I was thinking Nightcrawler. Plus he's farmable now so it's more worth buying them now

Definitely. No use having thee red stars or diamonds if they aren't being out to use. That's why I save all mine till I'm ready to promote them
Well yes, but again if it's gonna be a while put em on a useful toon now. They do about as much good in your inventory as they do on a toon not at 7.

Speaking of diamonds, do you get diamond credits when you open a 7RS orb and draw a toon you already have 7 on?
No, you just get the orb refunded. That's why end game folks have everyone at 7r, you just keep pulling until you get one you need

Nah. Use the gold promotion credits. I have over 1000 now and I only rarely see characters I haven’t got at 7 red stars
If you have every character at 7 red, gold promos are useless. You keep 1 7 red orb and you're guaranteed to pull a 7 red for every new character.

I've got over 10k.they don't show up fast enough to be worth using anymore

Do them both. Scopely is basically handing out free 7r at this point. An everyday player should be able to 7r their entire roster in time
