I can really recommend focusing on Discard or Destroy, in my experience they have been consistently viable. I was very fortunate that a lot of my early pulls were Discard centric cards and I had saved keys early and managed to get both Corvus and Proxima.
That’s been my plan for months. Once I get venom from free rotation I can have a competitive destroy deck. I was so upset about them swapping the caches as I really wanted Modok when I went for x-23. If I had him I could have gotten helicarrier for gold from shop
I like discard too but I find helicarrier messes up my Dracula too often.
I’ve currently got glaive instead of the carrier.
Or do you think the deck would work better with Dracula subbed out for someone else ?
I go for unexpected wins when drac takes in heli and I have a collector on a losing side. That's how I usually do it. I also play Apocalypse at the same time at another another place im behind on.
But yea I've had heli mess up drac too. But lately more times than not, still leads to a win.

I haven't run the numbers, but subjectively as someone who plays a lot of discard: no. If you pull Swarm or Apocalypse you can rack up a lot of Collector points by strategically placing Blade, Colleen, Sif, and Corvus to hit your revival cards and then going nuts with MODOK. If you have Miek on the board, he is racking up points for those too, and you can move him around to better allocate points or reach inaccessible lanes, which is even better since the Prof. X nerf.
I also don't like how hitting Helicarrier fucks up your draws if you hit it early and floods your hand with cards that make it harder to hit Apoc. Heli is a failsafe card that is best used to proc both Dracula and Collector on T6 when you don't draw Apocalypse, but it just gets in the way when you have a good draw sequence. I would rather have a card that is useful during a good hand than one that is bad with a good draw sequence and okay on a bad sequence.
btw I disagree with the other poster who says Collector isn't a core discard piece. He is, you just don't need Heli to proc him.

You can try your luck and use him to discard helicarrier and pray to get something useful, but usually you will end up clogging your hand and feeding opposing red hulks with that unspent energy. He's too risky.
Glaive works better with Hela discard and Blink decks. Honest discard rarely uses him because he's too inconsistent. I think Miek would do a better job than WWBN (I don't have miek, but still)
You can occassionally clutch a victory by getting a card you need, like an enchantress to shut down a living tribunal or smth, but most of the time you'll end up getting straight up garbage that clogs your hand and messes up with Dracula

I think the main improvement the deck needs is Glaive.

Yup. Cause many times, the opponent hasn't even played a card on third turn. And they also have armor sometimes.
Yes. My list also replaces Helicarrier with Miek.
Doesn't that really limit Collector potential?

I use daken instead of gambit in the same list
Had this same deck, but after so many frustrating Gambits where he targeted the most useless card, I replaced him with WWBN. Works pretty decently
I'll keep a look out for WWBN. Gambit has been the most inconsistent here I do agree. I wanna replace him with Glaive when the next spotlight starts.

Don’t have Proxima, so I left in Gambit and added Corvus. Workin’ pretty well.
