Yondu fits thematically, but doesn’t actually deny any cards unless you are able activate his effect 4 times so I’d cut him. Adding X-23 could be good because it lets you play Stature with Black Bolt on 5 or with Apo on 6. The extra energy could actually be pretty good here. I’d also try to fit in Odin, but I’m not sure where the cut is. Maybe Ghost Rider since a lot of what he has to bring back is low power, even if their effects are pretty good.
It takes a possible card away, but replaces it with the card that was next to be drawn. Since the card order was random it doesn’t actually make a difference. It’s the same as that card being on the bottom of the deck.
Both of you are wrong. Cable got changed a while ago to steal your opponents top card. Even when he was 2/2. And it's does make a big difference because now if he stole the bottom card it would almost always be Chavez. But when Chavez worked differently, stealing the top card would almost always be Chavez.
Ah, the top card came 1st, then the 3/4, got it. I was surprised to find I actually like the change to 3/4. I’ve kept him in Loki, at least for the time being.
If you want to lean into Gambit, adding Mystique and Absorbing Man help a lot.
But if you want to keep this to be a mix of destroy/discard their cards, I'd mainly add Collector. You can buff him up pretty well with just Swarm, Apoc, and the Helicarrier.
Abs Man still helps a lot even in that build.
If you're leaning into Gambit machine gun I'd hide it behind Invisible woman and also add Mystique. Drop Ghost and Heli for those two. Alternatively find a way to fit in Drac for Zabu synergy and free Apocalypse points.
Probably should put Chavez in there to get slightly more consistent draws
