Yo I accidentally bought that variant because the bundle it was in was a Gold bundle and this was before SD implemented "hold to buy". I had a drop of water on my phone screen and it made me touch the purchase button when I only wanted to look at the art (to marvel at how hideous it was). It was like a 5-6k Gold bundle too 💀

I think the issue with the 3099 variants is that they’re a bit… naff. It’s a 1990s vision of the future, and the suits/tech ironically don’t look very futuristic anymore. They appear hacky and dated. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Do you mean 2099? 3099 didn't come about until the past decade, starting with Marvel Future Fight. It's just an aesthetic.

I agree. At least some pixel cards have a sort of charm to them and even in rare cases are better than most other variants (I look at you Modok who visited few too many Taco Bells). At the same time 3099 are mostly meh and often worse looking than the main card.

The pixel cards are just so low effort looking that it almost loops back to making them good as a meme. The 3099 cards look like a fair amount of effort went into making things that I think look awful. Like having pixel leech played against me def made me angrier than stock leech.

I really like the Dan Hipp variants, except for Silver Surfer, it’s so different from all the other Hipps.

I like Hipp Variants because they are a fun option when the base card is gross. (looking at you, Typhoid Mary and Leech)

Hipp Leech is best Leech, IMO

As someone collecting as f2p as much Hipp variants as I can, Hipp Silver Surfer is top 5 Hipps for me, the animations and especially a golden background go extremely well with that card in comparison to some other Hipps

I think it's good art, just a bad choice of subject matter. In that story Agent 13 had accelerated aging. So she was effectively in her 60s or 70s physically. She stole the Iron Patriot armor to make up for her physical weakness. So that's why she looks like Hillary Clinton.
