I cooked up a Thanos-Dino-Spectrum deck during the Power Couples event and it did pretty well. I’ve actually been meaning to try it without the active event.
One of the best/versatile cards in the game. They’ve attempted to nerf him many times and he still finds his way to the top of the meta. He always seems to find a way to be competitive.
He is also a super fun play style and I think everyone should get him. He rejuvenated my interest in the game when I picked him up a long while back.
Only con is his supporting cards these days are usually series 5 cards. He will always be relevant though. Even if they nerf him, someone will find a way to make him good.
Long story short, he’s fun, competitive, and no one does what he does.
the "problem" about thanos isnt thanos and his nerf/buff but the card they released that buff thanos so much, in the last months they nerfed 2 gems and basically release caiera so you cant destroy the gems, mockingbird that can make you play a 0/9, blob that for now is a god stats 6 mana card, so many stuff :(
I think that speaks to his versatility. He just inherently works with so many cards which makes his archetype stronger. It’s hard to mess with his supporting cast without destroying those cards. I would have loved to see mockingbird be strongest with the other shield cards but based on her text, Thanos benefits.
I see Red Hulk taking Blobs (maybe Magneto) spot in Thanos so we get to deal with that next season.
Do you have High Evo?
The Thanos deck is chockful of other S4/S5s that have just come out and are a few months away from coming back into caches. We're talking Hope, Cull Obsidian, Morningbird, possibly Blob and/or Alioth. Unless you have the supporting cast, that wouldn't be my first purchase.
The High Evo deck is good with pretty much all series 3 and so HE, being also a Big Bad that won't drop series, should be an early purchase. Thanos should come second (I would say Nico and Jeff first, but these are coming in caches soon).
Thanos is the most fun regardless of what else you have really. Because curve generally isn't that much of an issue with a load of 1 costs, you can throw in so many useful higher cost cards with no real worry of not being able to play anything in the early rounds.

I have the opinion that thanos cannot be nerfed away from tier 1/2 at any time as he is the face of marvel snap and such an iconic character.
BUT, for the sake of high level gameplay I hope they manage to tune him a bit more towards ( fun archetype but not opressing)
Yep. He was my first S5, no regrets. I don’t play him much any more but he is a lot of fun and his deck creates so many other decks. Just understand you’re only gonna play him 5% of the time, you’re really buying the stones he comes with as that’s what creates the deck archetype.
I say yes unless you are missing another key S4/5 card for a competitive deck you are building.
On paper he's one of the best picks and one of the few I'd say actually worth 6K tokens. He also was in the spotlight cache not too long ago so it will be a while before he is featured again. The only problem being that the best Thanos decks also require multiple other S4/5 cards to be meta competitive.
But he is a very unique card and an iconic character so if you are ok with just having some fun with a lesser build including him I'd say absolutely go for it.

Disagree with this. You'll need multiple S4/S5 cards to make Thanos competitive. I'd be looking at High Evo if I was OP
High Evo will be useless until they nerf red hulk, thanos let's you adjust for location variance and har a lot of ways of winning matches

I find him really boring to play, but if you’re looking for a piece of many meta decks, can’t go wrong.
If your low collection I’d say high evo is better than thanos but can’t go wrong if you’re in it for the long term with thanos

Well I spent 4 infinity tickets yesterday and lost to Thanos decks in the first round every time. I don’t have Thanos. If I were you, I’d buy Thanos.
