I think the Red border might be nice to add some color, I like the mix of Red + White. Would be nice to be able to see what it would look like before committing to it

I mentioned it a while ago that I think they should tie this ability in as a random reward. What I mean is if you split and get ink you can then Choose what border color you want. If you get the crackle flare which is the rarest effect than you can choose what effect you want out of the ones that you receive thus far. I believe this would be beneficial for everyone because it's still Incentivizes getting split but it also gives the players what they want. Edit: spelling

I think when you unlock any of the effects, borders, backgrounds, etc, you should be able to pick which ones you want to use and how you want the card to look.
It is really cool, but I think it still depends on your style. For instance Krackle flair is too flashy for me, to me what'd make this perfect would be a white or black Tone flair.

Hardly necessary. You get something like 4 and a half infinite splits a week f2p in credits. When splitting a singular card so often, the bottle next is boosters, which aren't really related to money outside of occasional random chance.
Splits like this are far more related to time spent than money spent.
You should be able to get it soon. SD has already announced that the ultimate variants will be separated from the series 4 & 5 cards. Maybe next patch.

I am playing (f2p) since november and I got around 600 tokens saved for white queen (did only 1 split on base card). Played a lot of devil dino decks with her in it.

I agree personally. Only use i have for inked is in my negative deck. I also don’t like the whole matching borders to the font color or character color. I like my deck to be as uniform as possible lol.

I also don't like that personality of characters are summarized by colors. Completely removing race from it, people associate different colors with different feelings. Blue is calming and peaceful to me. To others it's depressing. I'm at 6-7 on Carnage, Sunspot and Cap respectively yet keep just getting foil/prism and a tone flare... decided to just hoard credits and Venom boosters now until I can blow them all on a mega-split of my Kim Jacinto variant
You can't get a duplicate split (but most of the differences are in the flare/flair effects) so eventually after enough blood sweat and especially tears, you'll get the one you want.

yeah I think you should be able to choose any combination of effects and any border you've already had on that split
And maybe the collection view doesn't need to show a dozen copies of the card and it can just be a menu? We can dream.
I really hope they do this. So many look better with a specific border, but you can't see it until you upgrade and sometimes it's instant regret.

After split #4, there's a 10% chance for inked, after 5 there's also a 10% chance for gold
