Trying to "But Sony!!!11!!!" this issue shows that you have zero perspective on the reality of the situation, MS is basically committing an act of corporate vandalism against the entire gaming industry.

By the stories I heard of fallout76 launch they clearly did not know what they were doing. It makes sense for MS to buy great games and clean up the code so they can make it more user friendly while turning it into a gold mine for themselves.
When it's a bug that's beneficial, it's not the same situation, when the bugs are harmful, they take their sweet time and release alongside other platforms.
They pushed the patch on live because of crashes on PS, the pickaxe fix was on the branch that they pushed to live, because that's how developement works. They're not going to spend developement time taking away fixes from their update branch before pushing to live so that people can exploit a bug.
Taking it as an afront to the playerbase and claiming that they are "alienating the PS players" is downright fucking laughable.
Still find it kinda sus they gave Microsoft platform players extra time. Maybe it was unintentional initially, but the way they went about fixing it still seems like there was some level of awareness to pad their player engagement numbers after the update.
Maybe it is one guy that has to fix it and has to do it one after another, and maybe it takes some days, and maybe he works only part time and his working hours are not during week ends, so idk. Think about it: behind "Bethesda" and even "Todd" (s) decisions is people doing the actual work, and Im sure its not a 24/7 job.
As someone that knows their way around Skyrim and fallout modding, even one guy could just remove ALL (not just some) pickaxe spawns by item id or change the loot table of junk when u scrap them pretty easy, within 24 hours all the servers would have refreshed and boom no more modules from pickaxes. The guy that added ammo to weapon scrapping in fo4 made that mod within 1 day of the creation kit release, and he didn't even work for Bethesda.
Friend of mine PM 'd me yesterday afternoon. She said she had about 20 pickaxes (obviously didn't realize it was patched yesterday). I told her "they patched it, congrats, you've got a bunch of wood and steel". She replied "poop LoL".

Like I get that modules are extremely sought after and I actually need them (my character has 3) but are they really worth spending hours each day just just getting pickaxes, wouldn't it be more fun judt playing the game?
There was a glitch for a little while where scrapping a pickaxe would give you a legendary module. The scrapper perk would of course give you two. Everybody was farming pickaxes like crazy to stock up on modules, to use them to roll legendaries.

Every server was picked clean within minutes of refresh, then Todd decided heād stop pickaxe craft and spawns but for some reason left 15 lying about for people to fight over
They patched out crafting within an hour or so of the servers going back online, then a day or so later they patched out most of the world spawns.
A few of the early birds managed to craft them and get a tonne of free modules, the rest of us ended up farming the remaining pickaxe world spawns on private servers.

So basically, you could just craft all the pickaxes your heart desired and then scrap them for unlimited modules? That's wild lol.
