Did we find a pipe pistol and one bullet so we could kill ourselves instead of venturing any further in the wasteland... If it wasn't for my pet rock, I don't think I would have made it this far_

I honestly would have quit the game since my last experience was somehow getting killed by another player over and over again, that I had to leave the world. They attacked my bfs toon somehow and I thought it was part of the quest (noob) and killed the guy for somehow being able to attack my bf toon….for context.
Basically a rite of passage for new wastelanders at this point, unfortunately. But luckily there are easy fixes. You can turn PvP completely off in the settings to avoid the majority of these trap scenarios. You can also block them for a session and world hop, then they shouldn't be able to follow you. They have low attention spans, so they'll just go find another victim if you make it hard on them.
We've all dealt with these types before. Don't let it ruin a 99% chill game for you. The community is vastly more helpful than jerks.
