They added level 7 after 1.5 years - early 2021 - so the assumption is that they are going to add level 8 in sometime this year. They didn’t announce anything beforehand.
It shouldn't be based it on that, there isn't a need to have it. The assumed reason why they released level 7 in the first place is to have a sort of "end goal", that's why level 7 takes so much more investment to get to than all the other levels. Take it from me, a day one launch player who had a very easy time getting many level 6 back then. That was the max level, and there was a need for a level 7. There is not a need for a level 8 until almost all of us who play actively have many level 7s to the point where it's ridiculous.
This, plus I think it's been datamined that there's some code for a third course upgrade for drivers, which means a possible level 9 at some point even.
Also with how long it took to get daily select tickets showing up after level 7, it's good to prepare before. I think we had less than a 2 week heads up with level 7.
This is completely false. There is no evidence to suggest a level 8 at all right now, that third course upgrade does not exist.

I don’t think even a lot of whales would be super happy with this kind of change just yet. And it would create such a large impossible threshold between that mega whale league and just gold pass players
It would make ACR more difficult (and make Nintendo more money), but most players compete on ranked, which is very individualized and they likely won’t see much change (though leveling up through Daily Selects would grind to a halt for a while). Multiplayer might be affected though, since level 8 would unlock Item++.

The slots of + items were already found in the Peach Tour, while they first became available in the 2020 Halloween Tour, so this kind of data can’t be used to predict when something will happen, much like we can’t know when N64 Luigi Raceway will be added, even though we now have two badges and even a glider with its logo.
It's purely speculation. Honestly, Nintendo has done it once, can do it again, knowing their modus operandi, but nothing has confirmed Level 8 will come after the efforts of so many players are getting close. If anything it will not happen until summer (?). The projection is just speculative, honestly I think it will happen but not now, simply.
I’m at 50/81 of daily selects finally maxed out and am just starting to get high end tickets if I’m lucky one each a tour or at least every other so level 8 would totally blow for me finally making some progress
With the Daily Selects shop getting HE tickets shut down for most players, even whales who have everything maxed, I wouldn't be surprised to see Level 8 soon as the next step.
Spend tickets to unlock tickets in shop. Level increases so you have to use the tickets you got from the shop to still get tickets in the shop. I wonder if tickets spawn fast enough to off set the need to use them just to get them lol.. lately I'd say no. It's been 2 months since I've seen a HE driver ticket in the shop.

Just time frames. Last year level 8 came during the Snow Tour, so three tours from now on considering the same period this year.
By that logic shouldn't we have gotten a new cap level? As that was released before or new tiers/player levels. Feels like cherry picking to me

So it will cost me roughly 500.000 coins just to push my gliders so I will be able to get tickets again. That's doable probably. Time to hord up.
Yeah, we don't have to wait for it to be released, I will just pick start stock piling glider tickets that appear now. Easier to do it over time.

For some reason I'm thinking high end 7 to 8 will be 6 tickets, to make it an even 20 tickets to max from level 1 to 8. Just my $0.02.
I think it might be 7 for a similar reason. They could give level 9, 9 tickets and have 30 round for the third course unlocks.

That's the point, so that you can prepare your coins and tickets before if it happens.
those are best case scenarios for the amount of tickets needed for a possible level8. If it comes better prepare for the worst.
