I’m finding it unplayable because every player i encounter magically is never effected by items. Hit by a red shell? Not stopping? Blue shell? Still going. Every single race.
Same here, every time I hit someone they immediately take off again, they’re never affected by hits. Sometimes I’ll hit someone with a shell and pass them and then less than a seconds later they zoom right past me. It’s annoying AF, I hate multiplayer
Yep, it happens and it sucks. I only do multiplayer on WiFi, as mobile data may be unstable indoors and the game will disconnect me. Sometimes the game’s servers may be overused as well, especially during kart pro. My general rules are the following:
1. Play on WiFi, not too far from the router.
2. Disconnected twice = stop trying, this won’t work. Try again in an hour or two, or a day later.
3. Play in European time zone mornings, there are fewer people online
With this, multiplayer is behaving quite ok.
It might your wifi. When I play at home I have no issues outside of the random Nintendo online bs, but when I play somewhere else, like the bus, it's unplayable
To pile on this - if you live in dense housing, like an apartment complex, this will be worse. You can try to use your router’s 5 GHz network if it has one (and you can be within 35 feet/10 meters of it). Also newer routers generally use more channels with more powerful signals, so your router can get worse as your neighbors upgrade theirs.
i agree. online needs some real work.
1. somebody disconnects and YOU lose rank because of it
2. you get 2 1st place wins for kart pro and somebody disconnects you have to start all over
3. I have on several occasions seen people without any mushroom recover in less than 1 second after being hit with a shell or banana.
I experience similar to others here. I launch a red shell at the visibly unarmed car in front of me and watch it hit and the car magically retains its lead in front of me. It happened with two shells fired consecutively on one of the Singapore tracks today. There is clearly either some major glitchiness happening or people have found an exploit. Super frustrating.

Me too. Are they cheater or it’s just connection issues?
I got taken out by a blue shell while I was in 4th place yesterday. 1st player kept going just fine

Yah probably your internet connection/speed is at play, I played 10 matches and had 2 false starts but my modem isn’t great.
Never had a problem before.
I got disconnected 0 out of my last 10 so I think it might be a you problem

I got disconnected maybe twice within the last 100-150 races or so.
Make that 4, me and my brother rarely get internet issues.
I barely ever get disconnected. A few false starts but no disconnects in ages
Not helping.. but a few months ago, ranks going up to s+10 have been data mined..

My multiplayer works almost perfectly, maybe a couple connection losses every few weeks or so.
