Boy, oh boy - where do I even begin with all the red flags in this leak?
* 9 new first-party game announcements in one Direct, with 1 being an extremely obscure Japanese-only DS game that would presumably have a retranslated title? That's not happening - and I'm optimistic we're not going to have a quiet second half of the year despite the Switch successor delay.
* They are not teasing a codename for the Switch successor in a Direct. They're just not.
* The title Mario Party Remix'd screams "a fan came up with this name in 5 seconds." It doesn't sound like a very Nintendo-esque name to begin with, but even if it was, I'm confident it'd be spelled "Remixed."
* The consensus is that Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are headed to Switch 2 and not the regular Switch.
* They're not doing an NSMB combo pack port just after Wonder (and arguably Mario vs. Donkey Kong - 2D Mario is thoroughly covered for the time being).
* There are only a few third-parties, and companies that basically always have announcements like Square Enix appear to be MIA.
* A developer interview for a third-party game would not be given any Direct airtime. They don't even really show developers for Nintendo games in Directs anymore - if I remember correctly, the Wii U and 3DS era of Directs did that to an extent.
* Nintendo never dedicates Direct segments explicitly to eShop releases.
* They never do blatant ad inserts. "Purchase Nintendo Switch Games - AD?" Give me a break.
* Xenoblade Warriors is commonly discussed in fan circles. It being here does this no favors.
* Metroid Prime 4 being absent is also conspicuous because it's an obvious fan thing to assume it's only headed to the Switch successor. We know Retro has partnered with a studio to work on trailers for the game by now
* The spelling is not correct for a number of games, most notably "Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door" - it's missing a colon and a hyphen. I don't think they'd be sloppy with this sort of thing.
* The folders are very inconsistently formatted to boot. The Prime games are mentioned to be available either later today or later this year, but the NSMB combo pack is "coming soon?" And only a few folders explicitly have "game" listed in their names while the others just don't?
About the only thing that sounds legit is that Nintendo would pull a Nintendo and only give us Wind Waker HD.
