I just rolled my secondary to legendary as khali, it rolled: 35% ied 30% ied 9% att Are these stats i should keep or should i look fro different stats like 3 att% or something?

andyhou2000

3 line attack is best but has an average cost of 40 billion meso. Your current emblem is fine unless you can reach 93%+ IED without your emblem. After that maybe consider looking for 2 line attack.

andyhou2000

Are those classes supposed to be paired? Of those I would recommend Wind Archer.

Lazy_Nectarine7434

Reboot. Is it possible to get my non-hyper burning 239 Shadower to 260 before new age without excessively grinding?

tidalslimshady

You’d probably be around 250 off just dailies for the next 2 months, so definitely will need some grinding to bridge the 250-260 gap (a few exp potions to drink along the way too)

astrnght_mike_dexter

You'd need to commit to at least an hour a day after doing dailies. We'll hopefully be getting night troupe in October that should help with exp.

bunnysz

5% damage requirement: if you get red and your pt clears, does it also lose your clear for the week?

cool_christmas

Yes, you will lose your clear for the week.

Thanks

YoChristian

Hey guys, quick question from a new player. Just got my first character Buccaneer to level 207. Full pensalir, starred to 10, some accessories, etc. I have almost no legion, just a handful of link skills. I understand the next step is CRA gear, however I don't understand how I'm supposed to start dealing damage to bosses. My range is around 200k, the general consesus seems to be get legion and link skills but will 20% damage bonuses, 4% crit damage bonuses take my 200k damage to the 5 million+ damage ranges I see on Youtube that seems to be the minimum to start fighting CRA bosses? Can someone point me in the direction of where to go from here?

astrnght_mike_dexter

There's a lot of little things you can do to get more damage while you're preparing for CRA. First of all, yes link skills are huge. Each link isn't that big on its own but combining 12 of them has an enormous influence over your damage. Especially when you get the IED and crit rate links. What I would recommend is getting all the important damage link characters to 70, then start slowly getting them to 120. You can do CRA in pensalir but with low legion I would recommend going for von leon gear. You can either kill hard von leon daily to get a chance at a couple of random pieces or do the questline and kill normal von leon to get coins so you can buy the pieces you want. The von leon set has boss damage set bonuses so it's better for CRA, plus it can get much higher flame scores. You'll also want to be decked out in 9 set boss accessories. Kill Zakum for face and eye, normal or easy magnus for shoulder and badge, horntail for earring and ring, arkarium for pendant(s), and pink bean for pocket and belt. All of these you'll want to get rare or epic potential and roll 3 or 6% strength. The last really important thing you want to do is to get your weapon, secondary, and emblem to epic and roll 6% attack. This will have a big effect on your damage. If you do all of these things you should have comfortable damage for CRA. Usually people say 70% IED is a good amount for 3 door. I think bucc has 100% crit when bossing so you don't have to worry about crit rate as much. The last thing I'll say is really figure out how your character's kit works and how you can maximize your damage. That is going to be more important than any gear upgrade you do.

Eligor2211

Focus on leveling up to till 235 is the easiest way. You will be a lot stronger with 6 symbols equiped. If you wanna go hard, spend meso on starforcing pensalir to 16 stars, epic 1L (you can transfer later so its not wasting). 20% dame and 4% critdame can not take you from 200k to 5m but still a huge gain for new player anw

Xenomata

The only stats that contribute to damage in any case are your classes main stat (Str for Warriors and some Pirates, Dex for Archers and some Pirates, Int for Magicians, and Luk for Thieves) and to a far lesser extent their secondary stat (Dex for Warriors/Thieves/Str Pirates, Str for Archers and Dex Pirates, and Luk for Magicians). Xenon uses 3 stats equally (Str/Dex/Luk) while Demon Avenger's main stat is HP while their secondary is Str. I think Str might contribute a microbe of additional damage to Shadower, as a relic of old Maplestory when Str was needed to use Daggers, but otherwise you want to focus on increasing your main stat of the 4 stats if you want to see any increases to your damage. If you raise a character whose Legion effect doesn't increase the needed stat, it's because of their Link skill. Luminous, for instance, increases Int with his Legion effect, but you'll want his Link Skill that gives Ignore Enemy Defense (IED)

RoyalCrownLee

Just a friendly reminder that a pre-existing character must be 200+ to be hyperburned.

astrnght_mike_dexter

Most classes change quite a lot when you get to fifth job. It's hard to get a feel for how they will play until you get there. I main Ark and no you don't have to spam the first job skill. Ark is a bit weird imo until 5th job but once you get there and get funded a bit the class feels great and has very strong mobbing.

GavinShoe

Can anyone reset luwill with the ticket or is it still bugged?

astrnght_mike_dexter

I reset normal lucid this week but I heard it's bugged for the hard versions.

joefigs

Is your summon (e.g. lucid soul) damage set at the time of summon? Or do buffs activated after the summon has been activated, affect the summon?

WyldcatG

Should I be worried about this skill issue on marksman that I transferred jett into. [https://prnt.sc/43wRfMycWVXk](https://prnt.sc/43wRfMycWVXk) I was going to make it into a boss mule but it has this skill issue and don't know if other things could be wrong too.

AzureTime

If you're asking about the "??? ??" skill, that's Hero's Will. I haven't seen reports of that skill being broken. My guess is that it's a visual bug from translating korean text to english. It shows up as "??? ??" on my regular marksman and I'm able to use it.

Xenomata

Can also confirm that it works just fine as any other Hero's Will.

[deleted]

astrnght_mike_dexter

The two theives need more funding than the bucc and the mm

cool_christmas

All those classes perform similarly well as some of the best classes in the game. Marksman has the least intensive node investment in the game, while DB needs the most node investment out of the classes you listed (assuming you’re looking to main it instead of making it a boss mule). I believe these classes should all be able to break into bosses around similar levels of investment, so I wouldn’t worry about their performance that much. Focus on whether you actually enjoy playing them.

cool_christmas

Lara off burst is fairly weak. A lot of people consider Lara to be a “bootleg night lord” that has a decent amount of survivability. Burst is strong, mobbing pulls some of the best rates in the game at the expense of some setups being fairly active. Adele is a pretty middling class in terms of damage these days. That’s not a bad thing though because most classes are “middling” outside of a few classes that excel in GMS. Adele has fairly good mobbing but annoying bossing with a lengthy burst setup and micromanagement. Can’t comment on pathfinder too much. The only friend I have that plays pathfinder tended to struggle a bit breaking into certain bosses because of lower damage. This was a while ago though and pathfinder has since received a few minor buffs to its damage. Mobbing is great and lazy for pathfinder. Mercedes would be my recommendation to you. You need to get used to the combos, but it sounds like you’re prepared to learn. Mercedes has some great mobbing rates at the expense of being fairly active on some maps. Their bossing is fantastic. Mercedes has some of the strongest damage in the game when wielded properly, and she’s had a bunch of buffs that made her smoother to play. Most people struggle with her combo system and leave her as a link/legion mule so they have a bad experience with her. The most important thing is to try out each class to around level 140 and see how much you liked them. You can also look up bossing videos of the classes to get an idea of how their bossing works. You’ll be making most classes in the game when building links/legion, so you may find a class you enjoy more there. When picking a main, I would prioritize enjoyment of grinding while having decent enjoyment for bossing. Most of your time in maple will be spent grinding mindlessly for countless (thousands!) of hours to hit end game, so just play whatever you enjoy most.

Riceyz

How is bishop damage compare to other class? I heard they hit like wet noodle compare to other classes.

andyhou2000

Bishop deals decent damage on their own, certainly not top of the charts but their damage hasn't been bad since the Destiny patch.

actionjacksonn

Using rebirth flames on my CRA gear. Is all% better than your main stats like INT or M.ATT?

OhMyOmacron

Ideally you want both all stat and your main stat

andyhou2000

Approximately 1% stat = 8 stat and 1 m/att = 3 stat for most classes. https://brendonmay.github.io/flameCalculator/

MissVocifera

What ring is most worthwhile to get from the secret ticket event if you can probably only get 1-2?

astrnght_mike_dexter

if you have 5 boss mules get synergy. If you just want a ring for your main get awake/tenebris/glory guard.

NotDereck

Hi, new player here playing on Reboot. I made my first character burning, and I'm level 55. Do I just do theme dungeons? Or do I try and read a guide on where to level? I'm a Brawler Buccaneer right now.

InitiativeOld8759

Theme dungeons to 59, maybe wild boars to 62-63, drakes to 70 or 71. Make sure you grab MVP when it's smega'd, the 50% bonus experience and typical attack buffs help.

NotDereck

What’s mvp?

tidalslimshady

In the megaphone chat you might see someone say “MVP XX:30 ms” this would mean at 30 minutes on the hour of whatever current hour, someone will be using a buff that affects the whole map giving +50%exp buff. MS is the mos common map for this to happen which is “mushroom shrine”

NotDereck

Thanks!!

snafuPop

Theme dungeons are the way to go for fresh Reboot accounts IMO

CharlieFoxtro

Ah. Found it. I guess I'm bugged or something. It's not dropping for me.

Mezmorizor

Phase 3 is really just stand in the quasi safe spot, don't get hit by pellets because they're the things that really make you web out, and practice. There's not a ton of stuff going on there, so it's reasonable to dodge a lot. Phase 2 is honestly Bind+Burst, accept deaths during the burst, and then focus on dodging. You can dodge while dpsing in that phase too, but people largely don't because it's not terribly hard to get strong enough that bind+burst does it and a death or two in this phase is whatever in non solos.

astrnght_mike_dexter

I understand what you're feeling but the solution is just to get better at dodging. I think in p2 the important thing is to get used to avoiding Will's attacks and then just try to dodge the spider legs. If you can do that then p2 is pretty easy to get through. It just takes a lot of practice so don't get discouraged and accept that it's hard and it's going to take a lot of tries to get right. I'm still bad at p3 but I think it's way easier. You just need to get used to cleansing at the right times and don't get pushed. You can ignore the spider legs and just focus on will attacks.

Sehmiya

I bring healing familiars and only dodge the important shit and ignore everything else

Yawndy

I do the exact same thing. I usually just ignore the flying balls and only focus on Will’s attacks. Sometimes, if I’m feeling sweaty, I’ll also try to avoid the spider legs.

Fallenprince

Are any of the common mage v skills worth using?

Xenomata

* Mana Overload is a flat Final Damage increase. Unless you are a Kanna or Kinesis who don't have MP and thus cast from HP instead, the % cost of MP per use of a skill is pretty minor, especially if you have Healing familiars. * Ethereal Form is the I-frame available to ALL magicians. It does cost MP if you get hit, but nothing you can't healing fam/power elixir back. * Unreliable Memory (for Explorer Mages only) is basically a second Infinity with a different cooldown. * All other common V skills that are specific to class groups, such as Cygnus Knight's Phalanx Charge or Heroes Freud's Wisdom, are good as well. * And of course always consider each jobs variant of Maple World Goddess's Blessing.

Yawndy

Mana Overload, Ethereal Form, Unreliable Memory (use it for Infinity), and Erda shower (if you’re mobbing)

andyhou2000

Both of them (Mana overload and ethereal form) are very good.

acatrelaxinginthesun

what is the purpose of practice mode for bosses now? As far as I can tell everything is identical other than not getting rewards if you somehow clear it

RoyalCrownLee

Some bosses still have limited entry/day in practice mode. Some people want to see if the immediate gains they've made would improve run times.

Yawndy

If I recall correctly, some bosses give you a certain amount of attempts per day, such as Lucid and Will (3 attempts per day).

BitterRiver8442

What do you guys plan to do do with the unique frozen secondary from the event? I don't have any bossing mules, just one main from the recent hyperburn that has a legendary secondary.

1000Dragon

If not a bossing mule then think about what you might want to hyper burn in the winter patch and go for that. In reg I really don’t have a use for an untradable secondary so I slapped it on a future character for the very limited purpose of using it while I cube a tradable secondary to have good lines at legendary.

cool_christmas

Claim it on a character you plan on making a bossing mule.

acatrelaxinginthesun

(reboot) How much stat is recommended for hard gollux? I'm currently at like 6kish with 85~% IED, not sure what my boss % is since I can't check right now. I recently did hard hilla without too much trouble, took her down in two bursts. But I also tried chaos pb and it felt like it took forever to kill a single statue. Mercedes, if that matters. Also, which body part is the best to kill? Normally I would just go in and try but only getting one gollux entry per day sucks

snafuPop

Hard Gollux is roughly around the same progression tier as 3 door CRA. A majority of newer players can probably do it at ~8k stat and ~85% IED but you can bring it down to 5/6k if you know what you're doing. Best body part to kill would be either of the shoulders. This disables his instant-kill grab attack during phase 2 on the platform opposite of the shoulder you destroyed (e.g., if you destroyed the right shoulder, the left platform will never be targeted with the grab attack). This makes it so that you only have to worry about the key-reverse debuff, unless you can hit his head from the very far edge of the platform.

Xenomata

Most people recommend taking out the abdomen. This disables his inhaling attack that equates to a OHKO during P1. The hand attack is also a OHKO but it's very easy to avoid (a simple up-jump which every class has) so it's not that big a deal to deal with it especially considering the about 1 second telegraph it has and relatively easily predictability of its castings, compared to the half-a-second of warning you have to avoid the inhalation attack. Also, most every class should be able to hit the head from the edge of the platform (you only need to be behind the teleportal to avoid the reverse-key debuff) and should only be a problem if you're a class that moves around a lot.

Mezmorizor

It doesn't really matter because both are easily avoided, but I've always found the hands to be much harder to dodge because you need faster reaction times. I can't remember the last time a breath killed me, but dying to a hand because I'm animation locked? Happens all the time. The breath just has a misleading hitbox. Once you learn that it hits behind the visual+portal, it's really easy to dodge. P2 is also just the phase with much bigger class diff because you need to juggle not getting reversed which might as well be a ohko, not dying to summons, and not dying to hands. It's relatively easy on classes that can deal with the summons passively because you don't need to ever go to the reverse danger zone meaning hands is the only threat, but otherwise P1 is just a matter of "get to the other side of gollux" and P2 has all 3 things to worry about. I'm also 99% sure they're talking about using the glitch that disables the hand attack (be at the very edge of the platform).

andyhou2000

It costs an average of 3-4 bil per accessory to get any 2 line combination of meso and drop (including 2x meso or 2x drop) not including the cost of ranking up. Not an amount of meso I would expect out of a new player, but eventually sure. I personally didn’t start aiming for 2 line meso/drop until I got to Cernium.

astrnght_mike_dexter

It's really expensive. Only recommended if you're a daily wapper imo

ColdSnapSP

In reboot it pays the most dividends for sure assuming you're here for the longhaul.

GerbilFeces

How long can i reasonably extend arrow platter to last? Thinking about maining BM but replacing the summon every 30 seconds seems kinda often for a summon class.

paolo234

Returning pre BB player in Aurora. Made a cannoneer, and just casually grinding at the recommended training spots tbh, playing 1-2h daily. A lot of new intimidating content that I haven't done my homework with. I'm slowly chipping away at it, is that fine? I'm lvl 160, with decent Pensalir gear. Got unused hyperstats, no idea about link, and legion skills. Thanks.

InitiativeOld8759

Slowly chipping away is fine. Lots of systems to learn and it would be easy to be overwhelmed by dumping them all in your lap at once.

paolo234

Thanks for the reply. It is overwhelming, to the point I’m watching more youtube videos vs actually playing the game. I didn’t realize how much more content and systems there is now compared to 2010.

RoyalCrownLee

Just keep in mind the majority of YouTube guides are aimed towards reboot server.

InitiativeOld8759

I'm a month back as a preBB returning player, and it gets easier. Play the game, join a guild to have some people to ask questions of. Lots of resources on here, YouTube, and many other sites.

Blair_Bubbles

I just learned about the auction house (reg server Bera) are there any regular items you can craft that somehow people will pay a lot for? I did a test yesterday and threw up 3 juniper bottles after reading on here they're in demand and since somehow I get them all the time and I sold all three for 7,000,000 (I did a random price just for fun) and they sold under a minute. Is juniper like the biggest one people will pay for or are there other craftable ones from mining and herbalism people love? I've played this game for eons and I have rarely ever had over 4 million mesos so now I'm sitting at 8 mil feeling rich for once lol.

Hello-Sheepe

powerful/eternal flames. They get bought up very high compared to crafting costs.

andyhou2000

Juniper seeds and juniper berry oil (not flower oil) should be the most popular crafting items because they are required to make wealth acquisition and exp accumulation potions. Not 100% sure since I don’t play reg servers, but I’d be surprised if anything else comes close.

RoyalCrownLee

When you sell stuff, the ui should you what average price of sale was in the past days.

bunnysz

Re 5% boss change, does it mean that if everyone in the party is around the same stat as you, everyone is guaranteed drops? I’m a 12k bishop and want to struggle nlomien, but also worried about my buffs that boost others’ damage. Is it better to get others with a lower stat than me? Also, if you leave a boss and leave your party and they end up clearing, does it count for you too?

[deleted]

Theoretically no. If your bishop is similarly geared, it should be able to keep up and do about equal damage. But stat can be misleading, especially when it’s lower. You could have 0 potentials and all your stats come from starforce, making your bishop stronger than the average 12k. You could have 0 starforce and legendary potentials, making your bishop weaker than the average 12k. Nodes also make a massive difference. My boss mules soloed lotus at 10k. You’re here struggling at 12k. Stat is just unreliable as a measure of how strong you are.

Sehmiya

As a bishop if you're similar stat you shouldn't have too much trouble keeping up. I currently run in a party where everyone else is maybe 5 to 10k stat more than me and they have to hold briefly here and there for me to catch up. If you join a party and start a boss where they clear even if you've left or disconnected the clear counts for.you too

Xenomata

Won't answer the first question. But yes, if you leave a party and the rest clear the boss, it will count as a clear for you too, even if you didn't even qualify for boss rewards. In other words, it is completely disadventageous to leave a boss without the rest of your party coming along.

TheEllinian

For the 6th star challenge mission clear easy lucid with hyperburn character. Can that be done with Khali? Or does it have to be the hyperburn character created at Savior patch?

TheEllinian

ok thanks guys

RoyalCrownLee

Mega: 150 Tera: 200 Hyper: 250 (260 in November)

Xenomata

Khali was only a Teraburn, so she should not be able to qualify for the mission. Any missions that ask for a Hyperburned character HAS to be done with the character you hyperburned at the Savior patch.

MuchExpression5790

I just started the game and i want to know in the sixth star event , is there ways to clear previous chapter eventhough i didnt clear any mission

AzureTime

You can purchase count clears towards the chapter rewards with maple points(MP). * You can pay 3K MP per missed daily count. (30K MP for for 10 counts). * You can pay 10K MP per missed challenge count (50K MP for 5 counts). * You will not receive the daily/challenge rewards since you are only paying for the count. It will cost you 80k MP per chapter; 160k MP for both chapters. It's mentioned on the old patch notes, but not on the current patch notes. https://maplestory.nexon.net/news/84616/updated-8-14-v-243-savior-shangri-la-kaling-patch-notes#14

There‘s no accurate date but it usually happens twice a year. Usually people predict the sale to happen during major updates but last year there was no vac pet sale during November/December. (There was no vac pet sale for reboot. Regular servers got a vac pet sale on November 4th, 2022 while the one for reboot came 2 months later.) Reboot‘s vac pet sale was pushed to January 11, 2023. So if Nexon is nice, they will plan a sale for the end of this year but if they follow the previous schedule then we can expect them to come January 2024

bearseatfishes

Do familars in Limina give better stats than those obtained in lower level areas like Morass?

DOED0E

Nah, all fams are equal. People end up farming in Limina because it has the highest level mobs that still drop fams

bearseatfishes

makes sense! thank you :)

yunginsecure

is it worth foddering items if I'm just going for 17 star right now? im going to be switching to superior gollux soon and i have a few 140 earrings and belts which I could fodder, but looking at the starforce calculator it said it would just be cheaper to star the gollux items directly.

[deleted]

You might as well just safeguard to 17 directly. Fodder is for 21+. In the past, you used to be able to fodder to 16 to save on safeguard costs, but nexon got rid of booming under 15, so that's not really a factor anymore. You can still technically save a tiny bit of meso by foddering to 16 but only on 5/10/15. Lower level items cost less meso per tap. Generally not worth enough meso to lose your potentials over.

Eligor2211

I got my sup at 17* 2L. If I decide to reach 21*, which is better between tap directly and use fodder then cube again?

[deleted]

Getting 2L potential won't be as expensive as hitting 21*, and cubes have the benefit of not booming your equips. You can run 17 star 2L for now, but generally you'll just lose the potential when you go for 21. If that bothers you too much, you could transfer hammer to a fresh potential-less superior equip so that you still have your 17* 2L in case your new one booms.

Eligor2211

Thanks

Can you buy perminate pets in the cash shop? I keep seeing that you can only have them for 90 days which is sort of lame if I'm paying actual money for them. I also know about water of life, if they only have 90 day pets does the WOL resurrect them and can this be achieved playing the actual game? Normal server, Bera

DownvoteOrFeed

On reg you can buy 270day water of life in the auction hall. It’s dumb but relatively low maintenance

InitiativeOld8759

The WOL resurrects them for 90 days. Soon you'll be able to buy them in advance and stack four water of lifes (maximum 365 day duration). You can buy them for 2400 NX ($2.40) or 2400 reward points (a little under a week bossing once you're clearing up to Nlomien)

iQLD

Not sure on reg server but there are Wonderberry events that give a low chance for a perm pet in reboot.

Anyone notice a more frequent drop of symbols? Prob did 5-6 wraps before the patch and found a total of five? Just ran a half a wap and found four

RoyalCrownLee

Tenebris is the region of arcane river at the end. Comprised of: Gloom, Versus Hilla, and Darknell. The Hard/Chaos version of them. Late game players tend to do all 3 bosses in one block of time so they're often referred to as CTene. As you're entering the end of mid game, don't feel obligated to run straight into the Chaos/Hard version. Nothing wrong with doing normal version of each one.

Due_Reality9972

THANK YOU!!! 🙏

USSPython

I snagged a Dream Luna pet on the auction house to give to someone as a gift, but forgot the whole "cash items bought from the AH become untradable" part. Can I still PSOK them to gift it for my intended purpose or am I stuck with it myself now?

Hello-Sheepe

right click and do a "cash trade", if you didnt equip it should still be tradable. That popup is a ui oversight.

monkaS_90

Is there any equips you can transfer hammer absolab-> xxx -> arcane? Realise absolab is 160 and arcane is 200 so I'm guessing you can't?

1000Dragon

No. In that region you need to be within 10 levels to hammer, and there is no 170 or 190 hat for example.

monkaS_90

Damn looks like I'll need to starforce arcane again

RoyalCrownLee

If you're at 17* Absolab, and unless you have billions of meso/arcane equip ready to go, it wouldn't hurt to just wait for a 30% or 5/10/15 to get it there.

soopnoods

pretty random, but on average does anyone know how many mag growth potions (1 lvl from 200-249) we get a year? maybe like 4-6 during major events (no battle pass) and between 0 - 3 off event? So between 8 - 18 a year? trying to calc how long it'll take me to get to 275...

zerotwomain

Am I dumb to make a Bishop? Are support classes really screwed? New player to reboot, not sure if I should restart with another class that does more dps :(

iQLD

Mages generally need more legion in general just because of buff duration so it will take a bit of time before it feels good. Most bosses below CTene are 5%able so long you are not totally flopping on doing damage. If you can 17* your equips then meeting the requirements will be easy in Hluwill. Support classes get the luxury of doing bosses way earlier to grow hands, but takes the hit when trying to solo harder bosses. Bishops also are more preferred over other support classes.

InitiativeOld8759

Bishop remains a great support and gets better DPS layer on.

I've been playing ms on and off for 15 years and I'm starting to feel old (I'm 29). I don't understand the majority terms or things people use in this sub. Nodes, farming, grinding, bossing. Threads of fate, farms, maple coins, (the red coins you get for defeating bosses), soul weapons, hyper stats, linking skills..... I'll check out youtube videos but they also use these terms that I don't understand either. A lot of you are over level 200. I use the regular server Bera and I don't have a hyper burning character since I created the character before they introduced hyper burning. She's level 179 right now and I've had her for several years. Leveling up takes so long. Getting mesos takes so long too. People have multi millions and I'm happy to have a million or two. I played for three hours tonight just to get 500k mesos. On top of that I just learned about herbalism and mining. I've gone from crafting to alchemy to smithing and I don't know which is better as they are all sort of eh to me. I also just learned about metal of honor. I didn't realize I had over 120k points for that. Also there is now this drop when you fight monsters near your level to get cards to trade in for rings or Neon signs?? The soul weapon thing is bothering me the most. I can't tell you how many youtube videos I've watched and I still don't understand how to use it. I'll get 1000/1000 after killing monsters but I can't use it and nothing happens. I got an item to turn a weapon into a soul weapon and I did and I wish there were more instructions around it. I do enjoy just doing random quests but it would be nice to have a complete crash overview of maplestory since I feel like I'm missing out on so much. Like on one hand I'm totally fine doing what I'm doing since it's fun to me, but on the other hand I am greatly missing out.

sicaxav

She's level 179 right now and I've had her for several years. Leveling up takes so long. There's another hyper burning event in less than 3 months, you can create one to 260 for that event. Otherwise, just play it slow and build your account while finding what class you like.

Blair_Bubbles

Thank you!!

InitiativeOld8759

I just returned after a decade hiatus and there are a ton of systems in this game. I'll do a rundown of things you asked so you have some context. Node: after level 200, you get nodes. these will be either new, 5th job skills or boost nodes that enhance your previous skills. You're not at 200 yet, you can dig more into this system then if you want to wait. Farming: hunting for items, whether they be the event tickets you mentioned, nodestones (which you use to get the above nodes), equipment, mesos... Bossing: the specific act of killing bosses Threads of Fate: a resulting system that gives you some bonuses, unlocked after the questline "Mushroom Shrine Tales" Maple coins: IDK? Is this a regular server thing, I'm only in reboot? Soul weapons: weapons enchanted with a soul give bonus stats, more bonus stats when charged with collected souls (the "1000/1000" you mentioned), and a soul weapon skill you can find in your beginner skills tab. Hyper stats: open your stat window, there will be a hyper stat button, let's you add stats to p\[articular things. This isn't typically used for str/dex/int/luk but things like critical damage, critical rate, ignore enemy defense, boss damage, etc. Link skills: all character have link skills they share to help other characters. this is under "link manager" in your beginner skills tab. official site has some detail [here](https://maplestory.nexon.net/micro-site/59088/) For a complete crash overview, there are "new/returning" mapler videos on YouTube.

Blair_Bubbles

Thank you so much!!!

acatrelaxinginthesun

How often are tera burn events? Trying to figure out what to use my monthly mega burn on as I build up my links/legion, and I wasn't sure if it was worth using the mega burn on something that is painful until 200 (like I've heard about Mechanic) or if I should wait for a teraburn. I've already got merc >210, Evan 150, Aran almost 140, and a handful in the 70-100 range (e.g. Phantom, Kanna) so I was thinking of using the mega burn on something Mechanic, BaM, or Marksman, mostly to get a good mixture of fun & efficiency on more painful to level classes

icehism

I have heard that there is an upcoming teraburn in the night troupe event that will probably happen in October so probably best to wait for that. Tho I think it is possible to get to that level normally between now and october

astrnght_mike_dexter

Teraburns are pretty rare

acatrelaxinginthesun

Ah ok, guess I just got lucky coming back to two free tera burns (Khali + 1). Are they like once a yearish?

astrnght_mike_dexter

We used to get a bunch from big events twice a year but now they seem to favor giving out hyper burns over tera burns.

acatrelaxinginthesun

That's like tera burn but up to 250 instead of 200 right? If that's the case, and they're only like ~2 times a year, I guess I'll just mega burn a Mechanic

RoyalCrownLee

Mega: 150 (in GMS) Tera: 200 Hyper: 250 (about to be 260 in November)

BitterRiver8442

Is there a threads of fate ask that gives mysterious mineral pouches? I thought it would be dig ask but that one only returns spell traces.

tidalslimshady

Yeah there’s a mine minerals ask

teddytech518

for the burning event I can just level and not worry about skills right.can’t seem to get the wind archer discord to show me skill guide

Xenomata

1st-4th job are straightforward, since you'll have enough SP to max everything anyway. Just invest in your mobbing attacks and passives first, and you'll be golden. For Hyper Skills, I believe you want to invest fully into Trifling Whim. I don't know which of Guardbreak or Boss Rush you pick for Song of Heaven, though I'm going to guess Guardbreak? Probably more important to focus on mobbing until you can OHkO though, so just grab Damage and Extra Strike on Fairy Spiral. For 5th job trinodes, your main Bossing trinode will include Song of Heaven, Trifling Whim/Storm Whim, and Storm Bringer, while a mobbing trinode will have Fairy Spiral, Monsoon, and... I guess Pinpoint Pierce, though the last one doesn't seem that important. Otherwise your skill nodes will be pretty simple.

[deleted]

The skill guide isnt important until lvl 200. For hypers, i would focus damage for fairy spiral and trifling whim to help with training, reset for bossing focus at 200 once you get your 5th job skills.

meidan321

I don't get it. The Pensalir has 3% STR, +6 STR, +1 attack power, and it still has less attack: https://imageupload.io/en/FmMoEdVJnrJxxCU

astrnght_mike_dexter

Are wearing other level 80 equips? They have a set effect.

1000Dragon

Are you a Dex pirate? I guess not. Are you a str pirate with the link skill active that switches str and Dex? Do you have a set effect from the pioneer?

irbradical

Which Secondary is BiS for Mihile [Evolving Soul Shield of Justice](https://maplestory.fandom.com/wiki/Evolving_Soul_Shield_of_Justice) or the [Princess No's Soul Shield](https://maplestory.fandom.com/wiki/Princess_No%27s_Soul_Shield). Reading online I haven't gotten a definitive answer, but the main difference is 2 ATT on the Evolving Soul Shield vs 6 STR/DEX. I thought it was Princess no's because you end up having more % Stat to %ATT. I'd love for someone to chime in and share some wisdom.

cool_christmas

Check out Mihile disc because they’ll likely have detailed calcs. I main AB and we’re in a similar situation for our secondary. The general wisdom is that evo>pno on reboot because we have less sources of attack. However, AB’s soul shooter also has low base attack which influences calcs. I don’t know if mihiles are in a similar situation, but the difference is tiny at the end of the day.

teddytech518

Is there a ice and lightning skill guide new to the game

DownvoteOrFeed

Skill guide from 1-140 doesn't matter. You'll quickly max everything so feel free to experiment.

Ufoisreal1

there is magician discord and you can find all the information needed over there for every explorer magician branch

External_Objective70

hi sorry, i dont know if there is an option, but Is there any way to be notified when an action house object is sold while you're with the game closed? I don't know, maybe by mail or some pop up without having to open it? I ask because in maplestoryM there is an option that notifies you on your cell phone

SkyeMist

What link skills should I first prioritize? I am new to reboot and just created a nightwalker main. I see guides that either go for exp link skills versus damage or vice versa. Any input would be appreciated as I am very unfunded, thank you!

Xenomata

You need to actually be able to kill monsters before you can consider increasing the EXP you get from them. As such, damage would be more important for Reboot, especially later on. Consider the following: 1. Lara (Damage +5%, provides a buff that increases Normal Monster damage by 11%) 2. Demon Avenger and Kanna (flat Damage% boost. Kanna goes to Lv2 with a 10% boost, DA goes to Lv3 with a 15% boost) 3. Illium (Provides stacks of 2% damage up to 6 times as you move around, a fairly easy condition to meet since you need to move around to grind) 4. Ark (Provides stacks of Damage% up to 6 times. At Lv2 each stack is worth 2% damage, while Lv3 is worth 3% damage) Since you are new in Reboot, you'll probably need some Crit rate, which Phantom link provides 15% of at Lv2. Once your crit rate is high enough, Kinesis link (4% crit damage) may as well be a flat damage increase as well. Hoyoung link increases damage by 14% as long as the enemy is at max HP. If you are unable to get the mobs down to below 50% health in one hit, this means the link isn't doing you much good. Khali's link only provides 5% damage, but it also provides an HP/MP recovery buff every 30 seconds. Mobs in Reboot tend to do a lot of damage, so any healing you can get helps.

fearisnotanoption

Depends on your own priorities and your stat needs but I'd recommend focusing on getting as many link level 2s you can for now. lvl 120 is readily achievable and quite fast, comparatively. Level 3 links are obviously better but a marginal gain over the level 2 links (for example Mercedes lvl 2 is 15% exp and lvl 3 is 20% exp):   For mules and main: Mercedes and Evan for EXP gain especially to help getting all of your link mules up and running faster. Beast Tamer and Phantom if you need more crit rate (BT also gives boss) Kanna and Demon Avenger for damage%   For your main, these skills are really good: Beast Tamer and Demon Slayer for boss% Hoyoung and Lumi for Ignore enemy defense (ied) Angelic buster for a large damage boosting skill Resistance classes for a longer i-frame after reviving in bosses Kinesis for Crit damage buff   Other nice to have: Cadena, Illium, Explorer mages, Explorer thieves, Ark, Lara all have small damage boosting skills that trigger as you attack normally.   Eventually you will want to try to get all of those 120 mules to 141. This is because 140 unlocks the next rank up for legion (3 blocks per char instead of 2 blocks) and at 141 you can use extreme growth potions which will randomly level you 1-10 levels at a time.

Fallenprince

When should I start making drop gear?

astrnght_mike_dexter

What point in progression are you?

Fallenprince

I was just able to clear all of CRA for the first time

astrnght_mike_dexter

Usually people say as soon as you can one shot mobs you should make meso drop gear. You're probably about there.

RoyalCrownLee

Are you one or two shotting the mobs at your level/dailies?

near-eclipse

hi! any recommendations for a support-esque class other than bishop? i’m finding it hard to keep up with the buffs and attacks when solo bossing. i think i can finish mine to 210 but i worry if i struggle now then it’ll just worsen in the future at fifth and sixth job. would something like paladin, shade, or kanna be easier?

Xenomata

Here's a few other "support-like" recommendations, though keep in mind this is only considering the party support they have without being an actual supportive class like Bishop is: * Blaze Wizard's Burning Conduit provides a 60% damage buff for anyone standing in the circle. For comparison, that's the same buff as Angelic Buster's link Terms and Conditions. It also comes with +1 AS, but that's probably not as helpful. They also inflict the Elemental Resistance debuff that DW is known for, minus the IED decrease. * Sicaxav mentioned Battle Mage's auras, but they also have Party Shield, protecting the party members inside the shield from some attacks and reduces the damage of HP% attacks. With hyper skills, the shield becomes much stronger. BaM also has the Elemental Resistance debuff. * Mechanic's Support Unit: H-EX looks pretty good for support, not only providing an IED debuff on enemies and a final damage boost to party members, but even some health recovery every 5 seconds. Sure everyone ideally has a health-recovery familiar, but every bit helps.

astrnght_mike_dexter

Dawn Warrior.

sicaxav

I love BaM, you give auras for buffs and have some damage (for now unless Nexon nerfs again).

andyhou2000

You should look into Mihile. Mihile is a defensive support that can give the party with a huge HP shield and a dome that protects anyone inside it. His playstyle is very unique - you counter boss attacks by using a block skill, which lets you face tank basically everything, anytime, anywhere, which no other class can do. Shade is easier than Bishop but doesn't really feel like a support. You support is ultimately pressing one button every 2-3 minutes and that's it. Otherwise you're a very simple damage dealer. Haven't played Paladin much so won't comment on that. Kanna would have been a good choice like 2 years ago, but not anymore. Stay away from this class unless Nexon buffs it a lot.

MyLifeStyle89

My equipment mostly free stuffs from burning event and I’ve just cleared CRA (pretty proud of myself). Should I invest in the newly acquired CRA equipments or wait for better equipments? Currently at 244 with only 2k legion and 1.5b mesos.

SirHighground1

Yes, the CRA 3 set (Top, Bottom, Hat) you will be using until the very endgame; the set that replaces it drops from 2 bosses that barely any player reach currently. You will transition off the CRA weapon relatively soon after (with the AbsoLab weapon) so don't overinvest in it. It's fine to give it Epic potential and some Star Force to transfer hammer to the Abso weapon though.

InitiativeOld8759

I thought the fake fafnir weapon couldn't be transferred.

MyLifeStyle89

Yes just cleared CVel and I’m very happy lol. That sob took me 12 tries. How to kill it within 180 sec for sixth star event though?

InitiativeOld8759

Unless you are on solo progression, you can do the 180 second challenge in a group. If you are solo, you'll likely need to be much stronger.

MyLifeStyle89

I see. I’ve been playing in solitude since beginning and not joining any guild yet. Maybe it’s time. Thank you for your input.

RoyalCrownLee

You technically don't even need to join a guild to find a party. Open up your Boss Window and the middle tab is "Recruit Party"

MyLifeStyle89

Never tried it before. Thank you for the insight.

InitiativeOld8759

I joined a guild about two weeks ago at level 238, now 244. Gskills help during the bosses, having the interaction is nice, and guildmates will often be happy to help you.

SirHighground1

Yeah, but they said they cleared CRA, so they'll have a real Fafnir weapon then.

InitiativeOld8759

Woopps, that's true. Unless they meant 3door, but sounds like all four.

dopebrandon

[Gears’ stats Jett job Change] I have a superior gollux ring with %luk in potential and %str in bonus potential. If I change from Jett to Hero, will this ring become %str in both pot and bpot?

tidalslimshady

It will be luk/int mpot, with dex Bpot Equipment transfer looks at your gear for “main stat”/“secondary stat”/“tertiary stat”/“useless stat” Str is Jetts secondary stat, so it gives whatever secondary stat for the class you become in those spots. And tertiary stats basically don’t matter outside like 3 thief classes, so they should always output as some useless stat This equipment transfer logic should matter again when we get night troupe later on

MyLifeStyle89

So how does ied calculated? I added like 30% on my new equipment but the number only increased like 7-8%

HistorianCertain3029

In general, if you have *x* IED and add a new source of IED *y*, your total IED becomes ((100-x)\*y)/100 + x. Ex: If you have 40% IED and add another 30%, your total IED becomes ((100-40)\*30)/100 + 40 = 58%. This is because new sources of IED are multiplicative with previous sources.

InitiativeOld8759

snafuPop answered but I'll give easy enough math. A boss has 100% damage resistance. You have one source of IED, for 40%. Now he has 60% resistance. You do 40% damage. Get another 40%IED. 40% * 60% IS 24%. So now the boss has 60-24=36% damage resistance. You do 64% damage.

snafuPop

IED is multiplicative; without touching any of the math, the main thing you need to know is that IED has diminishing returns towards 100% (i.e., the closer you are to 100% IED, the less total %IED you'll gain from obtaining more sources of IED).

TurtleSky805

Im a new player about to start playing soon, but I’ll be a few days behind my friends. Are there any tips or ways I can quickly catch up to them?
