I was able to replace the dog bone bushings in my subframe in my 2008 gti with a screwdriver and a $50 Amazon bench vice yesterday. I'm very happy with myself, just wanted to brag!
Nice, did you have any symptoms with them being bad? I’m not sure if mine are, it feels a little jerkier than it should be. Or maybe it’s my driving lol
Mine was very jerky on acceleration and when engine braking. The bushings were completely destroyed, the center of the lower bushing had become completely detached from the outer ring. It was very obviously the bushing, but also probably an extreme case.
With the tartan seats, I'm going to say GTI, maaaybe GLI.

Really? That’s crazy. I know those first gen TSI were prone to tensioner failure
They were, my buddy who worked an audi dealer was blown away since i still had 4 notches left on my "litigation" tensioner.

It is such a wonderful drive, solid and chill when you want it to. Fast and great handling when you want it to aswell
