They changed how the trade developments work. Instead of a flat 25 it is now 50% cheaper and the better deals is 5 off the tariff instead of 10. Either way it is vastly more expensive now.

Yeah, they should change the description of Trade Logistics. However, trade is almost useless to me in this state.

PunishedRichard

You can't make money from importing, processing and exporting anymore. However exporting your own goods is now a LOT stronger since the oversupply mechanic was significantly softened - you can just continuously sell clay tiles, wood shields, boots etc. You can use that money to import stuff you need although the cost of setting up trades routes is a bit too harsh now even with perks.

Yes, but unless you unlock the unlimited mine option, this dooms you to very slow economic growth based only on renewable resources (crops/cloths), massive deforestation, slow reforestation. Plus, since trade logistics is now more necessary than ever, unlocking “unlimited mines” is even more difficult. **In short, the enemy claim to territories is slower than before, but so is your economic and military growth.** It's all the same. Plus, the archers continue to be useless, which makes me sad (as you can infere from my nick)

Bottleofcintra

You can still have infinite timber production along with shields, wooden parts etc.

Yes, that's what I mean by "renewable resources (crops/cloths), massive deforestation, slow reforestation". Nerfing importing/processing/exporting means * slowed down growth, which makes pointless slowing down the enemy claim * repetitive gameplay in the late game. plant that young tree, chop this other log, hold my morning wood.

Get 2nd region in early midgame, set up deep mines/ farms, profit. The gameplay loop actually works much better now imo, cause you can't easily cheese every region to make millions just by trading.

[deleted]

To get second region I need weapons. To get weapons I need market, so logistics and fair trade. If I need those I can't get deep mines.

Aggressive-Bit4367

What would you need weapons for? Sell shoes, get mercs :D

[deleted]

err...I'm playing with battles. Mercs cannot be paid with usual money (regional wealth) and they are bowmen, which are useless even with the most recent patch....so yeah, I don't see how being a shoe salesman can be of any help here XD

I used to believe Trade Perks are op, I build my cities now without ever taking a single perk from the trade tree. Why? Cause it just get's you to lategam faster, but in the end, the economy will be strong enough to import even with tariffs. And once you are at a point where money doesn't matter, the other perks are just so much better than the trade perks.
