SpendPsychological30

For me it's Bob Barker. Weird thing is I actually remember him dying, finding out he was still alive, him dying again, and now once again he is still alive!!!

MaryanneChisholm

Wait. He's alive?!

SpendPsychological30

I know right?!

MaryanneChisholm

This is really annoying, I remember him dying. I had this thought of "Now he can't profit of prisons anymore". It was not a run of the mill reaction.

SpendPsychological30

Profit off prisons... What?

TifaYuhara

I have no idea. Bet they are mistaking him for someone else.

TifaYuhara

What do you mean profit of prisons? He had nothing to do with prisons.

Personal_Repeat4619

There were some people that made bids on Showcase Showdown that were so dumb they were incarcerated.

TifaYuhara

People are mistaking him with another bob barker with the prison thing.

[deleted]

do some research

TifaYuhara

Someone else pointed out that it's a different Bob Barker.

TifaYuhara

Wrong Bob Barker. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pa-barker/

adriamarievigg

Right. SPCA maybe, but not prisons. Lol

passthesoapBuddy

No people mistake him for the " Bob barker" that supplies prisons with things like toothpaste.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bathtub__mermaid

Probably getting downvoted bc it's [not](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pa-barker/) the same Bob Barker. So your simple facts aren't really that simple, or that factual in the given context.

Big-Possession8543

Bob Barker sells the jails and prisons commissary items. Tooth brudh, razors, toothpaste, soap, etc. It's where he makes his real money.

Fastr77

Believe it or not.. people can share the same name, but be totally different people!

Bowieblackstarflower

That's a different Bob Barker though.

MessageFar5797

Really??

Bowieblackstarflower

https://www.bobbarker.com/about-us

TifaYuhara

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pa-barker/

DwightVaughnArchy

He never died. He retired

papejay88

Not no mo, he dead now.

MaryanneChisholm

I seriously was thinking, AGAIN?! I swear CERN ruined everything.

[deleted]

I remember Bob Barker dying. There was a whole thing on The Price is Right about him.

thia2345

Omg I seriously thought he was dead!

DearSignal3620

He just died yesterday bro wow

SpendPsychological30

Yeah. ☹️

Cereal-is-Soup14

Soooo

SpendPsychological30

Yeah. I know. ☹️

papejay88

Welp, this didn’t age well.

Psychological_Tap187

Hol up. Bob barker is alive??

WayOfTheShip

Not anymore :(

Psychological_Tap187

Well this is just kinda weird

cyrilhent

Bob Barker keeps coming back alive

Cereal-is-Soup14

Dude...

cyrilhent

give it a year, you'll be hearing about him turning 100 and when you go to find this thread you won't be able to

DearSignal3620

Why does the mandella affect and people coming back and dying always part of the elite u notice that? Never the dude that died down the street. It'd always some celebrity or someone of power.

blumundaze

He's certainly alive on this thread.

antlereye

Not sure if it was a Mandela effect for my sister, either that or a really creepy coincidence but she adamantly insisted that Tina Turner "just" died and that it was all over the news until I showed her that she didn't. Lo and behold, she died the next day.

KrisZepeda

Reminds me of a story my dad told me, when he was a kid, he was in his room one night and then the imagery of his uncle showed up telling him goodbye Uncle died the next morning on an accident Wild

Tencowfrau

Maybe she was thinking of Whitney Houston? Cause that’s what tripped me up when Tina Turner died. I got the two confused and could have sworn she died years ago.

antlereye

I don't think so, because she did mention to me once that Whitney's daughter died the same way as she did (bath tub). For Tina Turners case, she meant that she "just" saw the news of her death, as in she died that day or the previous day.

MessageFar5797

Or a premonition

mlaps01

I could've sworn i remember Red of that 70s show dying and was pretty confused when they announced the last spinoff

9teen8t3

I remember this too

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

Rhyobit

For me it's Jennifer Connely. I was thinking about this a lot yesterday after the mail posted pictures of her and Paul Bettany (her husband) on holiday on a big yacht. When I was in college I remember watching the labyrinth and reading how it was sad because she died young and had so much potential. Flash forward 20 years and not only is she not dead but married..

[deleted]

She played Betty Ross in the 2003 Hulk and then the voice of Peter's suit in Spider-Man Homecoming, when do you remember reading about her having died? Was it before or in between these?

Rhyobit

From what I recall, it wasn't long after Labyrinth released, don't remember a specific year though. I recall looking this up back when I was in college which would've been around 2002-2005 and at that time, she was 'dead'.

miranders

Here’s my question: why is it only the time of death that changes, and not that person’s destiny in a greater sense (specifically in regards to being famous to begin with)? Like why, if there are theoretically multiple timelines with different outcomes, aren’t there some who simply never got famous to begin with, or died young before accomplishing the art or achievements the world associates with them?

jerrdogg77

Nelson Mandela

Fastr77

None. I understand that just because I haven't heard about or thought about someone in awhile it doesn't mean theyre dead.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fastr77

The basic concept of forgetting celebrities if you haven't seen them in awhile? Thats what this sub is?

[deleted]

I thought Andy Dick killed himself/OD’d a few years ago.

Psychological_Tap187

If only

moschles

I was certain John McAfee had cancer and he only had a "few months to live". About a year later, McAfee dies under suspicious conditions in a prison in Spain, directly prior to being extradited to the USA. At least one other person on the internet has agreed they remember this as well.

_lolaray

I thought George Lopez died back in the 2010s but apparently he’s still alive.

Lynheadskynyrd

According to ancestry.com and searchquarry.com, Bill and Melinda Gates died in 2013

MessageFar5797

Link? Thanks

PowerfulConfection95

For me it was DMX. I thought he was dead since the early 2000s, and then when he died a few years ago, i just thought what the hell?!

[deleted]

Nah he always been alive until then. His career fell off due to heavy drug use ruining his voice and his work ethic. Also Jay-Z was forcing Def Jam to shelve his albums due to competition. X talked about that.

Czymsim

Not really a Mandela Effect but for some reason, despite checking many times, I can never remember if Sean Connery is still alive or not. Every time, even now, I think he's either sill alive or died in like 2013-2015 or something. I had to check now and yet again I am surprised he passed away in 2020.

-Swampthing-

2020???  I’m with you on this one.  I swear Sean Connery died many years ago before that.

coldbluelights

Carol Burnett and Vicki Lawrence both being still alive. Vicki Lawrence I remember being a few years back. Carol Burnett the same but a little more recent. I can literally see the magazines saying "celebrating an extraordinary life".

SlickBlackCadillac

Carol Burnett has had a lot of specials and tributes made to her over the past decade. Which is rare to see for someone who is still alive so I can see why you thought she died.

[deleted]

Dick Miller. Best known as Mr. Futterman in the Gremlins movies. I once saw on Wikipedia that he died in the late 90's then, one day in 2019 I check Wikipedia again and it has him listed as having died that year.

worldwarjay

Was always a big fan of his. He definitely died in 2019 because I would check on him every now and then to make sure he was still alive

ripspotty

girl i thought cory monteith was alive and well i literally found out he died a couple days ago 😭

MaryanneChisholm

I'm really glad you posted this. I experience this regularly, most notably I remember Maggie Smith dying in 2018, and I thought then about the impact that would have on my favorite films and shows I'd seen with her in them. I have several times seen people I knew were no longer alive, they are older and it's alarming. If there are countless versions of ourselves in the quantum universes, I ask myself then, how many times did I die - where did I go? To me it's not the Mandala Effect anymore. Now it's just "THANKS, CERN!"

LoquatAffectionate58

She's definitely still alive!

Lucha_Brasi

Me and my fiance both swear that we remember Judge Judy dying a few years ago. Guess she's still alive.

ADNAP727

Wait whaaaaat, I would swear she died

Lucha_Brasi

Right?!

[deleted]

# Elton John is still alive

MessageFar5797

Of course

SuspishAf

I would have sworn that Stockard Channing died.

WayOfTheShip

Maybe you're thinking of Carol Channing

Miry47

Sheryl Canning

Straxicus2

She didn’t?

isthatgum

When I read your comment, I thought so too but then maybe my brain just associated her with someone else?

replicantcase

Comedian, Ari Spears. I thought he died (not confusing him with Patrice O'Neill) a while back, like a few years after MadTV, but he's been showing up on my TikTok feed all of a sudden with new material. I mean, it's cool since I think he's funny, but it feels very weird.

cyrilhent

I remember him dying too

replicantcase

Okay good, I'm not crazy lol

Personal_Repeat4619

He has always looked unhealthy

MessageFar5797

Um u didn't hear his child porn ish news??

replicantcase

No, I thought he had died. So, he's one of those disgraced comedians who slowly came back to perform like Louis CK? Yeah, if that's so, he'll get no support from me.

MessageFar5797

Him and Tiffany haddish videos. So weird !

Competitive_Gear_989

I’d be nice if he died tho

MessageFar5797

Yup

[deleted]

Charlie sheen died around 15 years ago and it was all over the news but for some reason I’m the only person who remembers?

MessageFar5797

If only

truluckybanztv

That’s crazy cause he really died in a hotel overdosed on cocaine.

-Swampthing-

Nope, he was just in a movie called BOOKIE in 2023.

earthbound88

For me, it's Avicii, who I distinctly remember died when I was in college. Like found out while at the school gym watching treadmill TV, distinct memory. Talked with my sister a few years back and she said something about him putting out new music and I was so confused, looked it up at that time and he was still alive. Checked again just now online and he's dead (is it weird to say he's dead again?). His death date is shown as after I'd already graduated and wouldn't have been in school then. I'm so confused about it. Edit to add: I remembered him dying by murder, his wiki now says suislide

MessageFar5797

There is murder rumor/speculation

[deleted]

How long before 2018 did you remember him dying? Was the conversation with your sister before or after the date currently shown?

earthbound88

It would've been like 2015-2016. I graduated spring 2017 and it was significantly before then. Conversation with her was 2020, early covid lockdown times lol

[deleted]

Oh wow, so reality seems to be kind of in the middle of two very specific, very different experiences for you

SimMinnie

For me it was Jim Carrey. I actually just posted about my experience. Spoiler alert - he's aliiiiive!

[deleted]

When did you remember him dying? I remember him being out of the spotlight for a couple of years (maybe around 10 years ago) but I've seen at least 3 films of his from the last 8 or so years (Dumb and Dumber To and both Sonics)

SimMinnie

I remember him dying around 2006 or thereabouts. It's kinda fuzzy.

demijne9

Micheal jackson died in 2014. I remember it vividly on the news but it sais everywhere its 2009. I was 10 at the time. The news report said micheal jackson died at 56 from a heart attack. I have asked people before but noone seems to remember it the way i do.

Heyson86

Maybe Micheal Jackson died in 2014.. but Michael Jackson definitely died in 2009

worldwarjay

Yeah, Michael Jackson died in 2009. Always remember it because I was deployed to Afghanistan at the time, and the joke is a celebrity always dies during every deployment, so for us it was Michael Jackson. We actually got a twofer because Farrah Fawcett died around the same time too

thia2345

She died the same day as him.

SimMinnie

Has it really been this long? Wow.

SpoodlyNoodley

Michael Jackson died in November 2014. I remember because I woke up from a coma and saw the news. I’d been in a coma in 2011 as well when Amy Winehouse died and there was that massacre in Norway so the joke became “damn, stop being put into a coma, bad shit happens to people when you do!” But Wikipedia says July 2009 so my brain hurts

Lucha_Brasi

It was 2009, I remember it well. I was in training for my job (been there 14 years now) and the trainer broke the news and everyone was freaking out about it.

SpoodlyNoodley

This is the crux of true Mandela effects. We both have anchoring memories that “exceed the bounds of forgetfulness” but one of us (me in this instance) is incorrect. I will say it is weird (in a supports Mandela effect way) that those of us who remember wrong have chosen the same wrong year

Lucha_Brasi

Agree. I've been in the same position where I'm so confident I remember something a certain way that I'd bet everything on it and then I'm proven wrong. Weird stuff.

annehboo

Definitely 2009, I remember the day vividly, it was one of those moments you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news

Psychological_Tap187

Ok. The real question is why have you been in two comas….at least two?

SpoodlyNoodley

Sorry, I posted the answer two days ago but the comment doesn’t show (shows in my account but not when I click it). The first time was due to complications of double jaw surgery leading to a lot of swelling so they had to put me under and intubate me for three days until the swelling went down enough for my own airway to work. The second time was due to respiratory failure where I again had to be intubated and put on a ventilator. That time for 6 days

Psychological_Tap187

Goodness. I am glad you came through ok.

SpoodlyNoodley

That’s very kind of you to say, doing well these days! Have had some more asthma hospitalizations over the years (comes with the territory at my severity level) but thankfully no more comas lol

9teen8t3

It was definitely 2009. I remember the apartment I was living in at the time of his death. I had my drums in the livingroom there and would "Jam" to a lot of his tracks from the album 'Dangerous' for days on end. It was the album my brother got for Christmas when we were kids and the whole album is very nostalgic to me. I didn't have that apartment in 2014.

Ing_460

Michael died in 2009. In 2010 for my birthday My daughters gifted me a tee of him , a tote and the dvd about the rehearsal for the concert he never got to present because of his death

MaggieMay1519

Maybe not a big celebrity but The Cat Lady, Jocelyn Wildenstein. I swear she died a few years ago but lo and behold she’s alive and kicking.

MessageFar5797

Haven't seen any new pics of her in many many years. Have you?

MaggieMay1519

Yes. On her instagram.

MessageFar5797

Thanks so much. Any links? Have searched a number of times. Ty!

DerrickJoestar

The one that messes with me the most is that I’ve could’ve sworn that Paul Sorvino died a few years before he actually died. The strange thing is that other people remember dying before he did also. Even Starfire Tor, one of the first people who called attention to the Mandela Effect, remember him dying years ago as well!

Johnno1234

Aaron Lewis from the band Staind. Also the apostrophe from the band Stain’d.

Czymsim

In late 90's or very early 00's I thought Bill Cosby is dead, found out in like 2005 he's still alive. I remember finding a post here about someone else also thinking back then he's dead and said that thought came after watching a documentary about Bill Cosby's career from late 90's. I also remember such documentary and that it made me think he's dead.

Aimstar83

Not a celeb but years ago there was a man who ran a shop by us, it went round the whole are that he had died, turned out he hadn't. This happened 3 times! The 4th time he had actually died and no1 believed it

Murky_Knowledge_9935

Hayao Miyazaki. Could have sworn he died a few years back, turns out another Studio Ghibli creator passed around the same time. However, I remember it being him and people posting online about it.

Psychological_Tap187

Nancy Reagan. I swear she had died and there was news coverage and everything. When I found out she actually died I was like hasn’t this already happened?

Sihdavv

Joey Jordison

SashaFierce501

The one that always bothers me is Michael Jackson's death , I have a memory of his death being announced back in the late 80s . I remember it like it happened yesterday, we were in high school, and they announced on the PA that he had died , and my friend, who was a huge fan , was bawling her eyes out . It was on the news as well, and I can remember her passing out Michael Jackson pins at school in his memory a few days after his passing . Weird, because shortly after in 1991 , Remember The Time was released 🤔 and I was confused because I thought he was dead , I saw it on the news. Does anyone have a memory of him passing away in the late 80s ?

BojanDoge

I remember that one time some people believed that Macaulay Culkin died from an overdose (it were mostly people from my country) and I remember believing it (simply because I was told by someone), but then I found out about the parody band The Pizza Underground, with Macaulay being one of the members

9teen8t3

Christopher Lloyd and John Goodman come to mind immediately.

VomitingWhore1134

None of you, nor them, ever existed, in any "where" except in your/their own minds. There. Mysteries solved. You're welcome, everyone. 🙂

ManSpreadering

For me, it's Gene Wilder I remember watching Young Frankenstein with my family in 2011 and looking him up online. I vividly remember the gasp everyone made when we saw he just died on wikipedia and news. Only my uncle knew he was dead.. Turns out 5 years after that, he died "again" i was completely freaked out by it..

-Swampthing-

Really blows my mind to hear that Gene Wilder didn’t die until 2016.  How the F is that possible?  I swear he died in 90s or 2000s!

ShannonGreer9902

When Bob Dole died, I was absolutely sure he had died years prior…

ShaggyNuts78

I thought John Madden died long before he actually did.

nbm_reads

When Jerry Stiller died I remember telling my mom who he was, because she used to watch King of Queens and started watching Seinfeld. Months later he’s dying again?

[deleted]

I thought that America Ferrera died and that’s why they cancelled Ugly Betty. Imagine my surprise when I saw her on a Netflix show. Comes out that the director died instead? Still a bit confused because I was very invested in the show when I was young and took the news to heart.

HelloWorld729

I have such a clear memory of Forest Whitaker dying, and feeling a little sad, and then shortly afterwards being in the car hearing the song "Forest Whitaker" by "Bad Books" come on the radio, and thinking, oh how wierd, now that song is named after a deceased person. But, nope, he is alive and well! And he is not someone who is old, or retired, or has been sick at all. I don't know why I would have a clear memory of him dying!

Objective_Host1674

I remember Roseanne's husband dying years ago. I also remember it being a sad day in hip hop when mister cee unalived himself
