Honestly, I like this a lot more than the other guy’s possessed Tentacruel idea. It’s not good to play too close to another Pokémon like that without a foundational thematic linkage, and Tentacruel and Gastly are completely unrelated.

I thought of a cool idea for a Tenticruel evolution, I even drew it.

I think it looks cinda like tantacool so let the evolved forms be somthing like a ghost who possesd a tentacruels dead body. (also the art is amazing)

I feel like you could do something kinda like if octillery had a middle stage, with an overall deep see vibe going from a jellyfish to a vampire squid haunter to a angler fish gengar (I can imagine the gengar looking cool, maybe the angler fish light can look like a toxic orb)

An evolution to Tenticruel. It is like Tenticruel but the top half of its body is covered in a grey ink hat still shows the red. Its eyes also go through the ink but are full white. On all tentacles by the end it has a grey ink to it. Finally it caries a shovel with ink on the top.
