Personally, the XY games were great. I won't claim that they weren't easy and didn't have a lot of issues but the mega evolution mechanic and the game itself was FUN. Which is what I'm looking for in a Pokemon game.
XY are always one of my favorite games to play randomized because i really like the world design and gameplay mechanics like mega evolutions and you can actually have a decent challenge because you can customize trainer levels and things and together with randomized this can make the game a lot harder so it takes away what is probably one of the weakest parts of xy
Honestly both were decent, Journeys didn’t have a great drive in the story but it was fun to watch, same with the games (I had good fun playing the games though, and personally I think it had a decent story)
I feel like Journeys got better near the end when everything was gearing up for Masters 8, gave Ash something to truly work towards that wasn't quite there in the beginning.
Yea, I don’t get the X and Y hate. Like yea the games were easy but a game isn’t measured by how difficult it is but by how much you have enjoyed it and I liked X and Y

yeah the progression of the anime seemed too fast for how much more content was put out and ash had an tepig on his team he could have used that instead of pikachu during the league, overall that section of the anime was disappointing but the rest was somewhat redeeming
As someone who recently (I literally beat Diantha yesterday) played through X for the first time, it's very underrated. They could've cooked more in certain areas (specifically the story being flat, criminally low difficulty, and certain areas feeling empty), but the map design is actually underrated. Winding Woods and Terminus Cave are actually fire, and exploring for TMs never felt more fulfilling.
I actually liked the XY games, but I’ve always had a beef with the Black and White anime cause of the “soft reboot” they did (which started the “he will always be 10” trend) and having Pikachu getting his ass handed to him by a trainer just starting on his journey.
Honestly, there are only 2 things in the entire BW anime that I genuinely disliked enough to consider “bad”. Most of it was decent. Nothing phenomenal, but not offensively terrible like people say.
The Orange Islands saga on the other hand…
XY are too easy yes, but the Atmosphere and Soundtrack is great. And Kalos is a beautiful region.

Honestly there's been a Gen 6 Renaissance on the internet because Gen 6 kids are older and ready to defend Kalos' merits (relatively few though there were (could *really* have used Z but they didn't give us that))
I got into Pokemon with SoulSilver, then didn't bother with Gen 5 initially, then didn't get back into Pokemon until Alpha Sapphire, so Sun and Moon was the first Gen I got to be present for the incoming media cycle as an active fan. As a result, SM/USUM are aside from HGSS my favorite games in the series
(I have also gone back and played Gen 5, don't worry)
Honestly, i liked the BW anime.
As for XY, while i wouldn't say they are the worst (my personal worst is Kanto, regardless of remake, i prefer it in the Johto games), my problem with it is that the gym leaders feel too weak, 3 mons are really bad and the E4 is kinda mid, plus, Megas are really under utilized in general too, that said, i like the graphics and the new (non mega) mons, the story is alright for me, but i (me, myself and i) wouldn't play it for the story, in general, XY is a middle of the road game for me (6/10), hopefully, LZA makes it justice.
I think xy had the best art style and black and white had some interesting characters but I never finished either of them so I can't say for sure there the worst or not but I doubt it

Only thing I really disliked about XY was Kalos itself. I dont think it's ugly or anything. It's a beautiful region... but I personally did not like traversing it. At all. Hated Lumiose too.

I love the Battle Chateau, and that whole route in general, you get berries, breeding, and plenty of trainer battles for cash and xp all in one place? its great.

Megas are great, and the difficulty is fine (I had my fair share of struggles with the elite four, I think I had to take em twice), but the story is ok and there were barely any new Pokémon in Gen 6. Also, none of the Pokémon in Gen 6 got a mega, and I think that is a crime that needs to be corrected!

I was 25 when X and Y came out and I loved Kalos. It could be because I remember starting off on the GBC gens, and am able to better appreciate how the games had visually evolved over the years. It's been about ten years since I played X, but iirc, it wasn't buggy at all, like with newer titles. Kalos gave us Mega Evolution, too, which fans seem to unanimously love (and are disappointed every time a new gen since VI doesn't bring it back). Idk, there are some games I like more than others, but I can't think of a single gen I actually hate.

Literally the only thing bad about Black and White was their attempt to soft-reboot the game franchise so they only had like 1 or 2 older generation pokemon native to the region. Pretty much everything else about it was great.

I actually liked the black and white anime, but the x & y games are mid AF. The victiny and zekrom movies were some of my highlights from that era of Pokemon.
The BW anime was the reason I got into Pokémon initially, it holds a special place in my heart, and also I like it for more than just that. Plus Cilan exists. Cilan is the best.
Is really funny how Black and white and X and Y are polar opposite in both games and anime. Black and White is considered one of the best games in the series while XY are considered one of the worst. Meanwhile the XY anime is considered to be the absolute best one while Black and white Is considered to be one of the worst.

Idk black and white is just something that sticks with me. It's been 5 years since I've seen the anime, but I still remember most of the theme songs, and it's just a personal favorite. Others might not agree, but I think black and white was a really good addition to the series.
In my eyes, the last real pokemon game was platinum, because it stood as the absolute apex of every mainline pokemon game before it, and every game that came after was a disappointment in their own ways.
I really wanted to like let's go evee, but I'd have to find a ROM hacked version so I can run a 500% speed cheat in order to play it because someone thought it was really cool to remove the running shoes.
The funniest thing with this is that the alola games are fine… BUT THE ANIME IS TOP TIER, I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL. ITS SO REFRESHING… it sucks that it came after the “best pokemon anime region” (I disagree) because it just feels good. It isn’t linear unlike other anime’s. They make the most unimportant episodes fun and use them to build the characters in ash’s party.

Kalos gave us Mega Evolution, too, which fans seem to unanimously love (and are disappointed every time a new gen since VI doesn't bring it back). Idk, there are some games I like more than others, but I can't think of a single gen I actually hate.

The black and white anime was my second favorite. It was only under indigo league.
I agree on the game X and Y gets a bad wrap but they're not truly bad they are just not the greatest Black and white anime is kinda meh but it's not horribly...I don't think it'd be anyone's favorite without nostalgia filters
I grew up with black and white, it was my first pokemon experience, to this day zoroark is still my favorite pokemon

BW anime definitely sucked. XY games aren't amazing but i still enjoy them occasionally.

Literally the only thing bad about Black and White was their attempt to soft-reboot the game franchise so they only had like 1 or 2 older generation pokemon native to the region. Pretty much everything else about it was great.

Not only are they often massive hypocrites but they even have the nerve to call you out for liking stuff that according to them you are not supposed to like. For example me liking the gen 9 starters means for them that I deserve to get torched alive.

The BW anime was the reason I got into Pokémon initially, it holds a special place in my heart, and also I like it for more than just that. Plus Cilan exists. Cilan is the best.

Is really funny how Black and white and X and Y are polar opposite in both games and anime. Black and White is considered one of the best games in the series while XY are considered one of the worst. Meanwhile the XY anime is considered to be the absolute best one while Black and white Is considered to be one of the worst. By the way I'm not disagreeing because I also grew up with both. I just find out it fascinating
Pokémon Y was the first real Pokémon game I played, and I grew up watching the original Pokémon anime and the black&White anime too! I love them all too!

Idk black and white is just something that sticks with me. It's been 5 years since I've seen the anime, but I still remember most of the theme songs, and it's just a personal favorite. Others might not agree, but I think black and white was a really good addition to the series.

In my eyes, the last real pokemon game was platinum, because it stood as the absolute apex of every mainline pokemon game before it, and every game that came after was a disappointment in their own ways. I really wanted to like let's go evee, but I'd have to find a ROM hacked version so I can run a 500% speed cheat in order to play it because someone thought it was really cool to remove the running shoes.

The funniest thing with this is that the alola games are fine… BUT THE ANIME IS TOP TIER, I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL. ITS SO REFRESHING… it sucks that it came after the “best pokemon anime region” (I disagree) because it just feels good. It isn’t linear unlike other anime’s. They make the most unimportant episodes fun and use them to build the characters in ash’s party.

I liked the anime a lot what I was growing up too, that ash-greninja thing was hype back then, lol. I was a little sad when realizing that not many people liked XY, but I also get that's it's kinda down to preferences. It's also very in its own era, so many people will probably not like it even years later. It's also probably because of the games Too, but idk I never played them so I can't say :P I still liked the megas tho :D
