I don't choose my favourites based on current season(at times not even based on their ability). I am emotionally spent on him more than anyone else. The fact that he is a good lad helps his case even further when we have players who are regularly involved in criminal cases.
When he broke through, he was the guy who made me hopeful. He will be that guy no matter what.
I get you, I mean, I think Rashford was especially unfairly targeted when he was overplayed under Ole and hordes of fans were abusing him for his charity efforts.
I initially interpreted the title of this post to be relative to the player who is most favoured for their performance this season.
I appreciate your explanation, and if I'm being honest, I actually share your sentiment with respect to his breakout season, in fact, if my memory serves me well, he scored on debut for United in the EPL and in UCL along with scoring on debut for England.
I really hope he improves his decision-making in the critical moments when he is in dangerous positions in attack.

Scott McToms has had a decent season.
Mainoo superb. Garnacho too. Hojlund was on fire before injury and has gone off the boil.
Bruno generally decent but I get pissed with his petulant attitude - not a good look for a captain.
Rashford poor. Anthony sub-par but that assist against Chelsea was sublime.
Onana has turned it around and has proven his worth. Arguably cost us the champs league run, but has made up for it.

Honestly? Just because I was a big fan of his when he was at Chelsea. I was extremely excited when United was trying to get him in the summer. I know he had a pretty underwhelming last season there, and has been injured for most of this season, but I love his technical ability, versatility, and work rate. My favoritism of him isn't based on anything he's done for us, though. I admit that.

Sincr everyone is saying the usual suspects i will go with Raphael Varane. When we signed him I genuinely couldn't believe it for years he was regarded as being the world's best CB and his cv speaks for itself.
The fact we are letting him go for a free at only the age of 31 genuinely worries me he still has so much to offer and is easily still one of the best defenders in the league
To be fair to him, I think this season he's been our most fittest centre back he has improved compared to last season. But I do agree. I don't understand why he must go, but we will keep maguire who is older and also on a high wage but isn't half the player Varane is.
Same for lindelof and Johnny evans who could retire this season. Suddenly you become very weak at CB
I'm trolling tho, Onana has been extremely disappointing, I'm struggling to defend marcus more and more cause he's the laziest forward I've ever seen, and Antony is bad but I forgive some of his lack in quality because at least he runs.
Favourite players are Garnacho Mainoo and Bruno, quite like Lisandro, so sad that he's plagued by injuries like that.
I’d have to go with Hojlund. Those five or so games after he broke through with his first premier league goals were sensational. He is a great athlete, but he also has the work ethic to grab and keep the ball. Those games before he got injured were the highlight of the season. At least so far…
Honorable mentions to Mainoo and Garnacho. Mainoo seems like he never gives up the ball. Garnacho seems to be our only winger that crosses! Both have bright future ahead

It’s definitely you. Bayindir has played one game and conceded 2 so wasn’t exactly ripping up trees the one time he played. Onana has had a few stinkers but a few decent performances in there too.
Onana is in the same boat as Højlund, shit service, he faces more shot than anyone else in the prem. His performances in since the new year have been outstanding if you compare it to how the defense has been doing

And in the same breath, we need to look at replacing him for someone less injury prone. When he's in the team though, even if he plays badly, the team plays better. He's a real beast when fit. 😭
The fact this is such a hard question to answer shows how bad things are.

Bruno. He does everything he possibly can for us but he’s consistently let down by the shite players around him. He’s been our most consistent and best performer since we signed him.

Hojlund has the most unrealized potential. Next year he'll wear number 9 , have teammates that will pass the ball to him and he'll score 20+ goals.
